The question that I chose to conduct my research on is “Why it is vital for the western nations to be aware of Israel’s human right violations against the Palestinians.” I chose to write about this topic in particular since living in the Middle East, in a country really close to Palestine, I grew up watching and hearing about the continuous violation of the Palestinian human rights for countless years by an occupying government, Israel. Having thought that this issue was widely known internationally, I was shocked when I came to the United States and witnessed a significant number of people from Western backgrounds who were unaware of this severe issue and others who were misinformed of the truth. Therefore, there is a significant need in addressing this topic as the cumulative state of being uninformed and misinformed has caused Israel's violations of Palestinian human rights to take up a cancerous state where it survived for centuries and is still continuing to exist while the violations committed are worsening at an alarming rate. That being the case here are 7 reasons that highlight why it is vital for Western nations to be aware of Israel’s human right violations against the Palestinians.

1. It is important for the Western nations to gain awareness on this matter in order to have the chance to spread awareness.

Israel's human right violations have caused an immense amount of trauma on countless Palestinians from which a large number are children. Therefore, it is pivotal for the Western nations to gain awareness on this matter to be able to organize collective actions in order to provide help and support to the Palestinians who were negatively impacted by Israels human right violations. A credible method that I could use to support my claims would be to provide statistics which are an analyzed collection of numerical data. I can use statistics to prove the that numerous Palestinians have been enormously affected by Israel's crimes against their rights.

The Western media are one of the most viewed media platforms worldwide. Sad to say that the Western media coverage on Israel’s crimes against Palestinian human rights are very rare, and do not cover the full scope and severity of the problem. Due to the lack of media coverage, unawareness has accumulated around this issue which has provided Israel with the cover it needed to continue to deprive Palestinians of their human rights for centuries. Therefore, it is vital for western nations to gain awareness on Israels violations of Palestinian human rights in order to pressure the media to provide a full authentic coverage of the issue. Providing case studies that show deep research of this topic would be an effective means of supporting my claim. Case studies that indicate Western media's microscopic coverage on Israel's crimes of apartheid and persecution can be a great way to prove my claim.

6. It is important for the Western nations to gain awareness on this matter to have the choice of boycotting companies that are implicit in the violation of Palestinians human rights.

Unfortunately, despite their urgent need, sanctions imposed by the Western countries against Israel are not traceable meaning they might be nonexistent.Therefore, there is a huge importance for the Western nations to gain awareness on Israel’s violation of Palestinian human rights, as there gain of knowledge on the topic would enable them to form a huge voice that requests their governments to place sanctions on Israel until it conforms to the international human right law, and treat Palestinians with respect to their rights.To support my claim I will use a historical context which indicates how, when and where calling for sanctions and applying sanctions against the violators of human rights has ended apartheid regimes.

This topic gave me a great insight on how gaining awareness can initiate important actions that are of great value due to their powerful impact in creating a change. Addressing this issue is very significant because the world cannot truly reach peace until each human is provided with their rights; as Martin Luther King once said “ Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. Palestinians have been enduring the injustice opposed by Israel for a time frame that extends through centuries with no consequence put against Israel's violation of human rights. The major reason behind that is the lack of global pressure which is rooted from the lack of knowledge. As a result the first step towards bringing an end to this severe issue is by gaining awareness which is why it is vital for Western nations to be aware of Israels violation of Palestinian human rights.
