My Police Technology studies.

Currently, I am studying Police Technology at Ahuntsic College. I am currently in year two of three. Time management helped me to pull off straight A's in college. Soon, I will have to make important choices about my career. More specifically, I will need to decide which police station I would like to work for. I am confused about this choice.

Choice 1 : Join SPVM (Montreal).

Choice 2 : Join SQ (Quebec province)

Choice 3 : Join SPL (Laval)

Join SPVM (Montreal).

After a long hiring process, I finally got an answer. I had to do several interviews, and they investigated everything about me. I was very stressed by this. I was taken on as an SPVM police officer. I will work in sector 27 (Ahuntsic). I'm really happy! In addition, by being hired, they pay the expenses for Nicolet. I look forward to seeing where my career takes me in this police organization. Ideally, in a few years, I would like to work in a specific area of policing.

I have been a police officer for the SPVM for 8 years. I gained a lot of experience and did a lot of overtime. I saw all kinds of things. I feel ready to start something new. There are several options available to me, but I don't know which one to choose. I am particularly hesitant between the position of investigator (major crimes) and the position of community police officer. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Be an investigator

Choice 2 : Be a community police officer

Investigator.

Ultimately, I decided to be a major crime investigator. It's a choice that I don't regret. This job came with a premium wage, so it was very interesting. I started this job by doing on-the-job training with experienced investigators. Also, I like coming to work every morning. It's a world full of surprises, and I never get bored. By doing this work, I feel that I am useful to society, and I help victims. I will work in this position until the end of my career because of the love I have for this job. When I retire, I will have a good pension.

I have job offer to go and work in Kuujjuaq. It's a 10-year contract. This is the only job offer they can give me at the moment. Should I accept this offer?

Finally, I decided to be a community police officer. I'm really happy! This job was available because the former employee was fired because he was in office politics. I don't think I'll end up like him because I don't get sucked up in drama. After a few weeks of work, I can confirm that this job is perfect for me. I like talking about and helping the Ahuntsic community. By doing this, I help the police have a better images. In my job, I also go see teenagers in schools. In particular, I do drug prevention. In short, I plan to keep this job for the rest of my career. In 20 years, I will be retired and proud about what I did in my career.
