End of High school.

It was the end of high school. I wasn’t sure what to do next. Nevertheless, two choices were available to me.

Choice 1 : Apply to Ahuntsic College in Montreal in the field of study of Police technology.

Choice 2 : Apply to CNDF private College in Quebec in the field of study Police Technology

CNDF.

I decided to go to the College Notre Dame de Ste-Fois because of all of the equipment they have. At this private college, I had access to police pack car, to fake guns, to real police officers who were volunteering for our classes. It was really nice.

Choice 1 :

Ahuntsic College.

I decided to go to Ahuntsic College. I got straight A’s. In some of my courses, I did a cursory job. But because of my time management skills, I was able to pull off a passing grade in all of my courses. After 3 great years, I graduated from Police Technology program. Now, I can apply at the ENPQ that will lead me to the career of a police officer or wait and apply to University.

Choice 1 : Go to the University

Choice 2 : Go to the ENPQ

Choice 3 :

University.

At the University of Montreal, I did a Master in law before going to the ENPQ in order to become a detective earlier. This step lasted about 4 years. Now I can apply to the ENPQ.

Choice 1 :

ENPQ.

I’m finally done with my 15 weeks at the ENPQ. During those courses we did a lot of internships with many police organization. Today, the director of the school presents the job opening. It is our responsibility to apply to the organization we want. Here’s the thing I can’t decide where or with whom I want to work with.

Choice 1 : Montreal Police Department (SPVM)

Choice 2 : Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

SPVM.

It has always been my dream to work for SPVM. I am now officially a trainee, and I am doing my on-the-job training so that I can learn the ropes. The nice woman at HR has asked me where I want to work next. Neither position comes with a premium wage. I can’t make up my mind. Which should I choose?

Choice 1 : Canine officer

Choice 2 : Tactical intervention Group (GTI)

Choice 3 : Stay a police officer and patrol

Choice 4 :

RCMP.

At RCMP, we are controlling every investigation with other countries. We are dealing with a lot of immigrants and disadvantaged people. Usually, they try to traffic drugs and humans for sexual fevers.

Choice 1 :

Canine.

I loved my job has a canine officer. My dog was the best partner I could have. He was helping by sneezing the crime scene and detecting important details for the investigation. Rex, my dog, was the number one in Quebec for drug detection. I had this job for 3 years and the I moved on to another one.

Choice 1 :

GTI.

After being a canine officer, I went to the GTI. I was the first woman on the team. I loved it! We were there to protect other police officer, the population and the recipient in intervention involving guns, explosion, riots, terrorist and many more. After 2 years I started to become really tired because it is pretty physical. Your wage is based on the ''on the training job''. Even if you are qualified for becoming a GTI member, you always have to train and learn new things.

Choice 1 :

Patrol.

At this point, I decided to come back at my first job in my police career. I went for the patrol because in all of the job I had this one was where I made the best memories. It made me the help disadvantage people, changed their skeptical vision on the police, protect others and meet and invaluable amount of nice people. Finally after 20 years I had to decide on what to do next.

Choice 1 : Retire and do a humanity trip abroad

Choice 2 : Retire and teach what I learned in my police career

Choice 3 :

Tanzania.

I went abroad for a humanity trip. I was there as a volunteer to help find solution to some of the disadvantages those people are living with. My purpose was to put a smile on faces. At this place, kids don’t have access to school, medical treatment, potable water and not even to meals a day. When I saw that I was shocked! I realize how much I was lucky to have all those advantages and this premium wage. In order to fix the nutrition problem, I went to a little village in Tanzania and cook invaluable amount of food to feed the population. At first, people were skeptical and thought I made poison food. Then, they understood that I was there to go volunteering and that my objective was to help them. At this moment, I saw smiles, people crying with joy. They told me it has been over 20 years since they eaten and felt satisfied. I was emotional, and it made me feel grateful to have the advantage of eating every day.

Choice 1 :

Teacher.

I decided to teach my knowledge of road safety. After twenty-five years of patrolling the road, I have become very familiar with the road safety code. In addition, I decided to teach where I did my Police Technology program, at Ahuntsic College. I taught third grade students for seven years and helped them find internships at the SPVM for their internship course. When my eight year of teaching started, I learned I had a brain tumor. I had the choice between:

Choice 1 : Having chemo treatments

Choice 2 : Let the life decide for me

Hospital.

I decided to have medical assistance. Unfortunately, I lost all of my hair but after 6 months of treatment the tumor is gone. I have a year off to recover, and then I will be back to teach.

Choice 1 :

Live!

I chose to let things happen and not require to any treatment. Unfortunately the tumor got bigger and I past away after 2 months. My husband planned funeral with my ex-partners, my family, and my coworkers.
