The beginning of college.

It was the beginning of college, I was 17 years old, and I had an important choice to make.

Choice 1 : Going in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention.

Choice 2 : Going in the Police Technology.

I chose to go in this program because my grades were not high enough to go directly in Police Technology. I stayed in my first program for a year, and I really liked it. The only thing is that I couldn't see myself listen to peoples "problems" every day, it would be to hard for me as a full-time job. That's why I had a second choice to make after my first semester.

I decided not to go straight into Police Technology after high school because I knew I wasn't going to be admitted, I did not have a lot of advantages. The demands were so high and the number of places in this program were so limited that each admitted student needed to stand out on all points, and this was not my case. That's why I chose to go in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention.

After the first semester, I started to question myself on whether I wanted to stay in this program or not. I compared the pros and cons and looked at what I really wanted to do in the future. Since I felt like this was not for me, I chose to leave this program. It was a great experience, and I've learned a lot of important things that can be useful for my future.

After the first semester, I started to question myself on whether I wanted to stay in this program or not. I compared the pros and cons and looked at what I really wanted to do in the future. I then remembered the Police Technology program and since I had straight A's at this time I said to myself why not try it this time. I did some time management to start working out more seriously, and then I went all for it and did my best, now I'm in this program and proud of my accomplishment and myself for all the hard work I've putted for all of this. There's a few reasons that can explain why I chose this program.

One of the reasons why I wanted to study in this program is because I always wanted to help people. Being there for people and helping them is important to me. Justice and legality are also important things to take into account, which I wish to put forward in this work.

Another reason that made me want to be a police officer is that the tasks are different almost every day. It varies a lot, and I didn't want to have too much routine. I like to different stuff and learn, so I felt like this was a good balance for me.

Now that I'm in the program.

Now I feel like I'm in the right place. It's not always easy but this allows me to surpass myself and get out of my comfort zone from time to time since I'm not used to having authority over people. I've made myself some new friends that are more often then not here to help me and answer my questions. After my 3 years of study, I'll have to go to the ENPQ (École Nationale de Police du Québec). Before going there, I could do two things.

Before going to the ENPQ I could go to university to study more specific things like criminology or security and police studies to be even more prepared for the future. I only see advantages about going to university, but one disadvantage is that it can be expensive.

Work.

I could work as a security guard or in an author field just to earn money while waiting to get called for the ENPQ. This will give me the chance to earn a wage and practice for my future work. It's always nice to have some advantages and a foot in the door by learning the ropes.

This program is mainly about security problems facing the societies as well as the strategies' put in place to deal with them. You may be skeptical about this program, but it's surely really interesting.
