When I was in cegep, at the Cegep of Saint-Hyacinthe, I was studying Social Science because I wanted to study in teaching at the university. I didn't know yet which university I wanted to go to. I hesitated between the University of Sherbrooke and the University of Montreal.
Choice 1 : University of Sherbrooke

At the end of the cegep, I decided to go to the University of Sherbrooke. Since this university is far away from where I lived, I had to move there. I had two options then, go live in the university halls of residence or moving into an apartment with roommates.

After I had done my cegep, I got to go to the University of Montreal. Since it was close to my house, I didn't have to do move away from my home. I decided after a few times to also to get ahead of my studies, and so I did an internship to learn the ropes of this career. An on the job training makes me learn better than just learn at school.
Choice 1 : Internship at a high school.
Choice 2 : Internship at a primary school.
I made some friends at the residence, we don't have much space for privacy, only a room, but I like the vibe that comes out of this place. To do better at school, me and my friends from the residence did a group calendar so that we will have better time management and have more straight A's. We help each other to put aside all the maddening things and help us not do cursory works. This technique help us all at school. (3 years later.) We all got our diploma! Now its time for us to find a job. At this point, I had two choices, go in a primary school with my friend and stay in Quebec, or move to Paris and work there.
Choice 1 : Stay in Quebec.
Choice 2 : Go to Paris.
I found a really nice apartment close to the university, I will live there we two other girls. They are really kind, but we don't talk to each other that much. Since the apartment is a little bit expensive, I had to get a job. I found two place that looks really nice, there is this pizzeria at the corner of this street that is looking for a waitress. There is also a clothing store, two streets away.
Choice 1 : Work at the clothing store.
Choice 2 : Work at the pizzeria.
I chose to go in a high school for my internship, the teachers there didn't look the happiest. I didn't think that this job was that depressing. There is a lack of employees, there is not a lot of fulfillment and the organization is making everyone feels powerless. Some people say that it's because the direction as been alienated by the government. I don't think that I want to spend the rest of my life working like that. This internship as thought me that maybe teaching is not the way that I want to go. The End.

The first time I put a foot on the door of the establishment, I knew that this was the place where I wanted to work when I am older. All the happiness that the children were spreading directly put a smile on my face. It is true that it didn't seem like an easy job but, I knew inside of me that I would be able to do it and that I will love it. (3 years later) I just got my diploma, so now I must decide if I wanted to go back to the school where I did my internship or, if I wanted to try another school.
Choice 1 : Stay in the same school.
Choice 2 : found an other school.
I was too scared to move away for my home, so I decided to stay in Quebec, me and my friends got all accepted in a primary school. When we first got there, we learned the office politics, and we've been told that it was better for us to ask question more often than not. Since there are not many teachers anymore, we all got assigned to a class. But a few times after, the principal comes back to us to tell us that an error was made and there was not enough classes for all of us and one couldn't stay at this school. At this point, we were all shocked. I didn't know what to do, give my place or wait to see what happen.
Choice 1 : Leave my place to one of my friend.
Choice 2 : Stay there and say nothing.
I didn't have that much thing to do to move in Paris because I am half French, so I already have my French passport. Then, it all happened really fast. I found an apartment, a job, and everything. I found my place there really easily, as if I was meant to be there. Then, I was ready to start my life from the begging as a teacher. The End.

It has been a month since I started to work at this clothing shop. One day, my boss decided to call for a meeting at the end of the shift. At the meeting, he told us that there was a theft in the team that was doing corruption at the store. We didn't know who it was so the manager started saying threats so that someone would say who it was, but no one said anything. Later in the year, the manager was arrested for corruption and embezzlement. I was shocked. I never imagined that he could do this. The store then closed and, now I need to find myself an other work if I want to continue to live in Sherbrooke. The End.

When I first started to work at the pizzeria, I noticed that there was a cook who was flirting with me all the time. One day, he asked me on a date, but I refused because I already have a boyfriend. After I said no, he started to misconduct with me, he started to act like a perpetrator. I tried to stay away from him, but he grabbed me by the arm and what happen after is what we called a sexual harassment, and it didn't just happen once. One day, I had enough, and I left my job, traumatized. I should find a new job but right now I don't want to do anything but hide under my bed. The End.

I didn't want to restart from the begging, so I stayed in the same school where I did my internship. Everybody knows me there, so it was easier for me. And it was at this moment that my real life as a teacher started. The End.

I know it was easier to start where I did my internship, but I love to discover new things. I found a school pretty close to my parent house, so I would be able to see them more often. I will now try my best to get accepted in this school and then get the real things started. The End.

The choice was hard, but I raised my hand and said that I would leave so that none of my friends would have to. I was sad, but I knew that it was just a part of live. I took my things and left to find another place to start my adventure. The End.
