The end of high school.

I have just finished high school, and it is finally the time that I have to think of what I want to do for the next years of my life.

Choice 1 : Go to CEGEP

I want to go to CEGEP, so I can finish my studies the soonest possible. I will probably not take a break because I really don't want to lose everything I learned during high school. I am very excited to be in a new environment, meeting new people and making new friends. I can't wait to go to CEGEP and feel like a grown person.

I just started CEGEP, and it's really not what I thought it was. It takes a lot of money to buy the books, making new friends is harder than I thought, 8 a.m. classes are hard and taking transport exhaust me before even arriving to school. I am just so done already, and it's been only a month. I decided to drop my session and find a full-time job, make money and be more prepared for my next session. I announced it to my parents, and they were very categorical about their response, there is no way possible that I drop my session. They said it's a shame for them that their child is working instead of studying. To be really honest, I don't care, they don't understand at all the situation that I am in and the state of mind that I am currently in.

Even if my parent were not okay with me dropping school for a session I still dropped it, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I am currently working full-time as a receptionist, I am stacking money to prepare for the big expenses of CEGEP, I have time to think of what I want to be later in life, and I am enjoying activities with my friends. I realized that I really needed that break because being young is a richness that we had to appreciate and enjoy fully. Having depths as a young adult is also very not fun so, I want to make enough money during my session off. My parents were very mad in the beginning and didn't talk to me for a while, but after they realized that I wasn't just being at home and not doing anything in my life they started to accept it more and more and were also happy to see me happy.

Stay on my phone.

Even if I was very motivated in the beginning, I ended up not being motivated at all. Every time a teacher gave me an assignment, or having to study for an exam I would leave it till the last minute. I was sometimes even too lazy to go to class. I ended up staying on my phone when the teacher explained and passed my nights watching movies. I finally failed most of my classes because of it.

Go study in Ontario.

After taking a session off, I really feel like I am ready to study again, but I thought about it, and I don't want to go to college because I feel like I'm just going to waste my time, and going directly to university is going to be faster. I really want to finish as quickly as possible and achieve my goal. My receptionist job made me realize that I wasn't paid enough for the amounts of hours I was working and with my paycheck I can't achieve my real dreams, like travelling the world.

Continue to work until I am 21.

After working for a whole session, I feel like I never really had time to rest. I finally decided that I wasn't ready to go to school again, and I want to pass my next year travelling. I want to visit other cultures, so I can have more social experience that could help me as a future teacher, and I will go to university when I am 21.

After all of my efforts, I finally finished college, and I applied to university in an Education program to teach in a high school. I think I can manage teenagers because I am a very patient person, and I can also influence them in a good way.

After all of my efforts, I finished college, and I applied to university in an Education program to teach in college. I think it will be easier to teach young adults because you have less discipline to do, but I’ll still be able to influence them in a good way.

I will probably choose to teach French. I’ve always been good at French, and I love writing text and poems, and I think my passion for French will show while teaching to my students.

I will probably choose to teach Math. I used to find doing math very hard and thought I wasn’t good in maths, but in grade 10, I met a teacher that made me love maths and since then I realized that it wasn’t that I was not good in maths I just wasn’t interested in it, so it made everything harder. I want to be that teacher for my future students, I want to make them appreciate and love maths, as much as my teacher did with me.

I went back to my old high school to go get my brother because he made stupidities in class, and that made me think about my future. I for sure know that I want to be a teacher later in life, but I'm now hesitating on if I really want to be a teacher for teenagers, that are going to be very undisciplined or maybe teaching young adults...I don't know anymore.

Back to this big questioning. I really love children, and I really love to teach, but I am very scared that young teenagers that are in their period of teenage rebellion are going to make me hate teaching, and will finally have made all of my studies for nothing and will have to go back studying.

Back to this big questioning, I like to teach, so maybe young adults would be better? Because they are more mature and understand better what they are doing at school, and are more interest than in high-school. They could have dropped school, but they are still here, nobody is forcing them. I think I will study to become a college student and if I don't like it, at least with my college diploma I can teach in high-schools.
