I was born and raised in Morocco. After my school education, I found myself between two crucial and life changing decisions. I had to decide, either to stay in my home country and continue my academic studies there, or to move abroad to a more developed country where I could explore greater opportunities and advantages. After so much consideration, I had to decide what would be the best for me and my personal goals.

I always had a dream of moving abroad, so the decision wasn't a very difficult one. I knew it was an incredible opportunity to offer me invaluable experience and skills for my future career in Accounting and Management technology. It was a chance to learn new things. Therefore, despite the challenges, I was determined to follow and pursue my dream.
Choice 1 : I decide my career path.
I decided to move abroad even if though it was an emotional decision for me, especially after of my mom tried to stop me. knowing that if I stayed in my home country would have been close to my family, I knew it wouldn't provide the fulfillment I needed for a successful career. I had to take a risk and follow my dreams, even if it meant leaving my comfort zone and facing uncertainty in a foreign land. It was really hard, but I knew it was the right one even if it meant leaving my family in tears.

Even though it was hard to leave everything behind, my career in Accounting and Management technology meant everything to me. I knew that in order to achieve my goals and make a difference, I had to have faith in myself and pursue my career.

At first, I was really sad to leave my parents house for the first time after I turned 18 years old, but I know that life requires doing some sacrifices to succeed in life. Before deciding to study Accounting and Management technology I was really lost and afraid that I would study in a dead end program or lack skills and abilities to succeed.

After going through the maddening procedure of organizing my papers and getting my study permit, I finally moved to quebec to continue my studies as an international college student in accounting and management technology.

I felt nervous and excited before my first day of college. During my first week, I spent time exploring the campus and its services and getting to know my teachers and classes. In the second week, my teachers gave a lot of homework.

I knew it was important to pull off all of my distractions such as phone and TV and put them aside. I made a promise that I would pay attention to my teacher and do all my homework and assignments to improve my performance.

It was always hard for me to put aside my phone and focus in school, I always found myself distracted and doing a cursory job, but I know I had to learn the ropes of time management since my major includes management. By doing so, I knew I would be avoiding getting myself yelled at by my parents, and getting good grades.

In college, I knew that it was important to balance my personal life, school and my part-time job. I promised myself that noting would draw me back of my path to success.

My major requires me to put on a lot of work in order to succeed, but no one told me that I had to take every class with this beautiful boy. Now he is my distraction. This pretty boy was in every class of mine, he was really charming and seductive, I liked everything about him. After we started talking and flirting a little bit, I started feeling this tension between us. After a couple of months we started dating, I was really exited and happy that I ended up dating my crush. After a few weeks I found out my boyfriend was cheating on me every Friday with a girl after telling me that he was just hanging with the boys every time. Nobody warned me about this horrible heart break.

I found a vacant position as a team member in coffee shop next to my house, I started as a trainee, and I really liked the job. After a couple of weeks a man joins our team, at first he looked really nice, until he started to harass every girl on the shop including me. At first, it started with innocent flirtation until he starting touching our waists and getting too close to us physically. I knew it was a big problem since everyone started saying it and complaining about it. I had to report it to the manager, but he did nothing. I felt betrayed, so I had to report it to HR. He denied everything, so they ended up doing a background check. They found out he was arrested for stalking and rape years ago, and also he was friends with the manager who took a bribe to hire him.

In my Accounting and Management major we learn about a lot of business related topics like finance, taxes and managing a group in a company. Considering we can start our own accounting firm. In order to be able to do that, we have to start by managing our personal finances. That's why we have this really interesting class called "Personal Finance Management", it is really important for me since I live in a foreign country, far from my parents. In class, we learn how to save money for future investments or retirement, we learn about taxes, budget and about credit and risk management.

I had an exam in my Financial Accounting class, I struggled with balance sheets and income statements since the beginning. As the final exam approached I spent hours studying I felt like I had a good understanding of the material, but I was nervous about it. The day of the exam arrived and as soon as I received the paper I felt sick and struggled so much. The exam ended and I did nothing. When I saw that I failed this class, and I had to take it the next semester, I was so devastated and furious, and I didn't eat for days.
Choice 1 : College graduation.
After years of struggling with my major and the endless sleepless nights, graduation day finally came. Weeks after my graduation, a company I applied in for a vacant position called to schedule an interview with me as they were interested in my CV. After weeks of working, I didn't find myself comfortable with the team. I made a lot of mistakes I felt left even after trying socialize and seem approachable. Sadly, I felt so sad in the job, and I felt like I wasn't good enough for the group, they made me feel like a burden to them. After gaining some experience in the company I decided to prioritize my mental health and leave to start my new journey.
Choice 1 : I start my own accounting firm.
I knew starting a business is not easy, but I spent hours working on building my network and clients with my best friend who was also an accountant. Slowly, I started seeing some progress and positive results even though I was overwhelmed. One morning, I heard some shocking news, and my main investor Jack had pulled out to leave us with no funding. My best friend and I were very frustrated. After a week of stressing out, the police knocked at our door where I was living with my best friend telling us that Jack was murdered is his apartment. I was in shock I turned to my best friend, she wasn't shocked at all. The officer then accused my friends with murder and arrested her. They found her DNA on him. My business and my friend it's all over for me. I feel miserable.
Choice 1 : The next start.
After all this I decide to move from my city to a new place, this time I am choosing Toronto. I found this new tech company I am working for as an accountant with an amazing team.

In this company in Toronto, I was working with an accountant his name was Tomas. He was always helping me with my work and with preparing the employers' salaries and everything else. One time, he invited me for some coffee, from that time we started getting close to each other, after being close for some time he confessed his love to me, and we finally started dating after liking him for a long time. After a year, he proposed to me,and we got married.
Choice 1 : A sad ending.
After living with my husband for 10 years, I discovered that he was cheating on me with a woman much younger than me. I felt so sad and betrayed after all these years of friendship and love he decoded to betray our love. I field for divorce.

I look back at my journey and I realise that my passion for accounting and management technology had put me in so much drama and heart break. I am so proud of the memories and downfalls that led me to who I am today, because everything I have been through my career and my life has though me something important.
