During High School I was not very good at school. I was not doing my homework, I wasn't listening during classes. But then, collegian admission arrived. I wanted to go in Police Technology.

April first 2021, the verdicts was in. I had not been accepted in Police Technology. But it was not time to give up. I mad another demand but this time in Social Sciences. This second demand has been accepted.

It was my first semester at Ahuntsic College, and I was more motivated than ever. My objective was to be accepted in Police Technology the next year. I make an awesome job during my first year in College and my grade point average 92. I was so excited to makes another demand to enter the Police Technology program.

During my studies I had two jobs. The first one was a summer job because I prefer to work outside during the summer. And the Other was a winter job. Those two jobs allowed me to make some money that I mainly used in my sport.

After one year in Social Science at Ahuntsic College, I decided to apply again in Police Technology. I thought this second demand will be the good one, but it wasn't. I had putted so much effort in my studies to be accepted, but it was not enough. At this time the motivation was very low, but I decided to not give up and to try one more time the next year.

Throughout my childhood I did short track speed skating. I had continued to practice this sport during college. I was with the Alliance Sport-etudes for 2 years. It was not easy to work, study and do 6 practice a week of speed skating. But I succeed, I made it worked, and I did perform very well in both of my occupations.

My dream job was a policeman. But with my two refusals, I had to start thinking about another job that I would like too. So, that was why I decided to apply in nursing. I worked as a lifeguard all my teenage years and loved all things first aid. However, after discussing with a nurse, my opinion on this job drastically changed. Nurses in Quebec work in neglected working conditions. So, for me it was a job with too many drawbacks. The wage was one of the principals.

Working at IGA.

I worked there for a little bit more than 3 years. For me, this job was invaluable and there were a lot of drawbacks with my conciliation of my studies and my sport. It was for me a dead-end job. That's why I choose to leave after 3 years.

Working as a lifeguard.

I worked as a lifeguard for several years. For a student work offered me a very good wage. I worked for the Park Jean Drapeau for several summers and the possibilities for advancement were enormous. This job all first required on the job training. This OJT allowed me to gain confidence in my abilities and to practice in the field the techniques learned in training. But like all work, this work had drawbacks. At Park Jean Drapeau the main inconvenience was the overtime on hot days.

My third and last demand to enter in Police Technology.

January 2023, it's news everywhere. Within 5 years many police officers will be eligible for retirement. The government has therefore decided to increase the admission quotas in Police Technology. Admissions went from 155 people per year to 208. That's when I was accepted. I also had the chance to be accepted in the training in accelerating (2 years) because I had already done my basic courses.

My two years in Police Technology has passed really fast. During this accelerate training I had the chance to be an intern in a police environment. This internship allowed me to observe how the police works and allowed me to better prepare myself for what I will be confronted with in the future.

Due to the lack of police in Quebec, the Quebec Nationnal Police School had upgraded his capacity. I had waited only 6 months after my graduation of the Police Technology Program to go and did my training. After these 15 weeks, I was ready to work as a Police Officer for the Laval Police.

Montreal and Laval offered targeted interviews even before the end of the training in police techniques since there was a shortage of police officers. I had the chance to pass an interview in Laval and Montreal.

After my interviews, I've been accepted in Laval and in Montreal. I lived in Laval during all my childhood, so I decided to stay here and accept the job in Laval. After my 15 weeks at the Quebec Nationnal Police School, I started to work as a Police Officer. At this time I finally realized my dream.

After 25 years of service, I decided to retire as a police officer. I was only 48 year old, but I had other goals to achieves in my life.

I had realized my dream of becoming a police officer, and I wanted to teach the young generation, and share what I know and what I have experienced as a police officer. At Ahuntsic College there is many retire officer teaching the students.

53 years old, I had an unbelievable work life, but it was time for me to retire and to relax all around the world. This was possible with the big pension I received from the government after my 35 years of work.

When I was 15 years old, we discovered that I had tachycardia. For several years this problem gave me a hard time with sport. But in March 2022 I had surgery without any problem, and I was able to continue to train 6 times a week.

After retiring, I made many travels all around the world. I had been going to France every year because all my family was there.

During all my life I had never given up, and I had always donned everything I could, and achieve my goals. I didn't regret all that I had done, and I will never regret having done one of the best jobs in the world, police officer.
