I just finished high school, and I will attend the cegep of Saint-Hyacinthe. I am so excited because my friends applied there, and it means that we will see each other every day. The only drawback is that I hesitate between two different programs. My mother wants me to apply in Natural Science because she wants me to keep my options open. In the other hand, I want to apply in Social Science because I know deep down that this program fits me better.
Choice 1 : Apply in Natural Science.
Choice 2 : Apply in Social Science.
Since I started the Natural Science program, I have become very anxious. I become overwhelm by exams and projects every week, and I can't motivate myself. I chose to listen to my mother's advice, but I regret it. I know it is not the program for me, and I need to do something about it.
Choice 1 : Apply in Social Science.
Choice 2 : Drop out of school.
I loved my experience in the Social Science program. I found my Psychology class very interesting. I knew I chose my program well. I got fulfillment from all of my classes, and I had good grades. Now that I am at the end of the semester, I need to choose what my path is. I know that I want to become a psychoeducator, but I don't know which university to choose.
Choice 1 : Go to the University of Sherbrooke.
Choice 2 : Go to the University of Montreal.
Now that I dropped out of school, I am volunteering abroad in a school in Guatemala. I learn every day some invaluable things. I found a purpose in life. However, I saw something I shouldn't have seen today. When I went to the school today, a misconduct happened between a teacher and one of the students who seemed to dread their interaction. Now that I think about it, I understand that it was a form of sexual harassment. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Talk to the director.
Choice 2 : Do nothing.
This year is my last year at the University of Sherbrooke. I have the opportunity to have an internship at a school near the university. It is a foot in a door before working at a premium wage at a school. I am learning the ropes of this career such as making intervention plans to students in difficulty and by accommodating them using adaptive techniques. I even have an opportunity of career at that school. Should I work full time there?
Choice 1 : Take the job opportunity.
Choice 2 : Deny the job opportunity.
This university is very difficult in my opinion. I have to study very hard to even pass my exams. I don't think I made the right choice. I don't even have the opportunity to be an intern at a school. I don't want to be a psychoeducator anymore because of my lack of motivation.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
After talking for a while with the director, I found out that all this time, he knew everything about that maddening situation, and he did nothing to punish the teacher. I cannot continue to volunteer there because I cannot encourage this type of behavior.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I am feeling guilty now that I decided that I was not going to do something to stop this perpetrator. I cannot continue to go to that school knowing what happens in secret behind closed doors. I need to restart my life over.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I love working at this school and I develop each day new teaching strategies and ways to make an intervention. I am starting to make some friends at the school, and there is a new teacher who took a vacant position, so I am not the new girl anymore. This new teacher is giving me strange vibes, and I don't know how to explain it, but I know that there is something wrong with him. Should I do something about it?
Choice 1 : Talk to him.
Choice 2 : Talk to HR.
I finished my internship, but I am waiting for another job opportunity because I denied the only one I had. I am waiting but there aren't any position available for me. It was a wrong choice to deny that opportunity.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I sent a message to him to meet me at the end of the day to discuss something. When I saw him, I told him that I didn't have a problem with him, but I didn't get a good first impression of him. He then became angry and threatening me, so I wouldn't say negative things about him. I was scared, and I knew I needed to get out of this situation. Now, I am at home, and I don't know what to do anymore?
Choice 1 : Talk to HR.
Choice 2 : Stay silent.
Because I know someone from HR, I decided to tell him about my doubts about this new teacher. He told me that he was hired really fast because there was an important position that needed to be filled. They didn't even do a background check on him. After hearing about my concerns, he decided to do a back ground check on him and what he saw was very concerning. The teacher had been accused of kidnapping a child two years ago but was released because of the lack of evidence. Now, because of this new information, the teacher will be fired. I am happy that I trusted my instinct, and now I don't know if I should continue to work, or take a leave of absence.
Choice 1 : Continue to work.
Choice 2 : Take a leave of absence.
Now, every time I go to work, I see him staring at me with deadly eyes. I am scared of him, and I cannot continue like this. I am always nervous now, and I cannot help and accommodate the students with learning difficulties because of this situation. I need to start over.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
My life is starting to get normal again, and I am starting to get a routine. I work overtime, and I get less fulfillment from my job than before. It has been now 40 years since I started as a psychoeducator. Before, I found it worthwhile to just sit and observe a class of students to help them have a better integration into society. Now, I lack of motivation, and I find it difficult to go to work every day of the week. I don't know what to do?
Choice 1 : Retire.
Choice 2 : Continue to work.
I am happy by my decision of taking a leave of absence because this situation made me feel horrible, and I needed to take a break of work to calm myself. During this time, I enjoyed every day, and I did every activity on my bucket list. It made me never want to go back. I decided to stay at home, and never come back.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
Deciding to have my retirement was the best idea I had. Work became a drudgery for me, and I needed to relax. After a few days of living this new life, I decided to see how much money I had in my savings. I was shocked when I saw that that I didn't set aside as much money as I thought. I knew I couldn't live off my pension as a psychoeducator. So now, I have no choice to work again, and set aside more money before retirement.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I decided to continue to work. Today, I got sucked up in office politics. I heard one of the psychoeducator spreading a rumor about one of the teacher. She was telling everybody that the teacher was poor. That teacher is one of my friends. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Talk to my friend.
Choice 2 : Confront the psychoeducator.
Choice 3 : Say nothing.
Instead of withholding the information about the rumor, I directly told my friend about it. She was glad to hear it from me, and she dealt with the psycheducator herself.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I had to say something to her. I told her that it wasn't very professional to start rumors about someone. She started to get angry, and yell at me. I defended my friend, and told her to never do it again.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
I am feeling a little bit guilty because I didn't do anything about this situation. I cannot look at my friend anymore because of my guilt, and now, I lost a friend.
Choice 1 : Start at the beginning.
