It was the pandemic, and I just finished High School. I had to choose your cegep, and the program for the next year. This was an important decision in my academic, and professional career.

Bad decision. It was far from home and the program was not for me.

It was the right choice for me. The subject matter of this program was what interests me. I will learn law and be ahead of the curve at university. I will be able to do an internship in the field of my dreams which will give me a foot in the door.

School was really important in my life. For me, it's maddening to have grades below 80%. I needed to get straight A's. To do this, I needed to organize myself and manage my time properly. This is called time management. I made a list at the beginning of the day of things I needed to do for school. I had leaving aside my cell phone to avoid any distractions. I put aside my procrastination and motivated myself. I was more focused, and I got so much better results. Also, I took notes in class and read them again in the evening. That way, I remembered the information better. I wasn't doing things cursory. I took my time to understand. I was really thorough when I was studying. Small details made all the difference. With these study methods, I managed to get higher grades. It is thoughtful to make all these efforts in order to have a bright future.

I believed that it would be fine if I was on my phone. It was a big mistake. I failed all my course. I attended my classes physically, but not mentally. I didn't listen to what the teacher was teaching, because I was on my cell. I preferred to scroll on some websites instead of concentrating. At the end of the session, I was told that I was expelled from the program.

I finished my 5 sessions of theories using my efforts. It was time to put myself into action. It's internship time, and I have to choose between two offices. It was an important choice for my career.

I dreamed about a good relationship with my colleagues. Unfortunately, there were office politics. There was a toxic atmosphere in this workplace. My internship supervisor had favorites among all the trainees. Several of them undermined one of my studies. It was too late to change it and the boss didn't trust me anymore. I got sucked up in an environment of hypocrisy and jealousy. More often than not, I needed to work harder. The favourite made me have to put more effort than the others. It wasn't fair.I had to hinder obstacles by forgetting my social life. My evenings were spent at work. The withholding of all these adventures had made a lot of negative impact on my mood. There were too much undermine in this office. My colleagues did everything for undermining my success. You have to withhold your frustration in this kind of situation to succeed even better. I hated this from the bottom of my heart.I left for a better internship. After, there were getting sucked up in this office without me. I believed that there will be changed.

It was the best decision for my internship. My boss and colleagues are nice, and I learn a lot about the law. For example, I learned how to research cases with doctrine and jurisprudence. My boss specializes in family law, and I often attend mediation. My boss offered me to go 1 month to volunteer. He left me two options.

I explained the situation to my boss, but he wouldn't believe me. He said that I was a liar. According to him, I should work even harder and stop complaining. I listened to his advice and finished my internship.

I have learned since I was young that you need to rely on myself. I have to withhold my frustration in this kind of situation to succeed even better. I was doing excellent research on different issues. Especially on cases of sale under control in court. With the help of my research, my boss won the case. I got a salary promotion for the end of my internship.

I tried to talk to my colleagues and ask them why they are doing this. They denied it and laughed at me. I did the rest of the internship ignoring them. I had remained professional all along, helping them when they needed it. So, I passed my internship.

I always wanted to volunteer. On the other hand, after doing research, I was skeptical. I found a lot of disadvantages. There are not only advantages. I finally liked a lot my experience. Of course, it depends on where abroad you will go. When, I went to Hawaii, I volunteered to help people in difficulty. It was the purpose of the trip. I needed to feel helpful for someone, but also for me. You learned in-depth your strengths and weaknesses. You knew more about yourself. It was invaluable the personal development you will learn when you go volunteering. After that experience, I was a better person, and it was really helpful in my work. I listened, worked and read better because I knew who I was for real. I was a superior lawyer. Everyone deserved try to volunteer. I thought it will be a really difficult moment because I saw some videos about it. Finally, it was the best experience of my life.

Go volunteering in Colombia.

He was a seemingly perfect volunteer. You attended a hearing before an appellate court. It was a criminal case. The accused was not satisfied with the verdict. According to the judgment, he made a felony. He said he had not sold drugs, but the witness said the opposite. I was able to learn what the judge relies on to render a judgment. He had relied on the arguments and the habeas corpus. He decided that the accused was officially guilty. The evidence was clear.

We have been discussing the case all the way. When we returned from the hike, the lawyer was shot by an unknown person. I learned that it was the accused who hired a hit man to kill both of us because he was put in jail.

I didn't know the way, and I got lost. The cellular network wasn't working because I was far down the mountain. While trying to find my way back, I sprained an ankle.

I was offered to stay for a few months and if I liked it, I would get a permanent position. Sure enough, I decided to stay, because my place was with them. I loved my life and my job. I was a really great paralegal.

I finished my internship having accumulated excellent knowledge and great adventures. It was time to return to Quebec.

My boss congratulated me on my beautiful journey. He said I passed my internship with an excellent grade. I had to choose university for my graduate studies in law.

The city of Sherbrooke charmed me. The fact that the university was in nature, it appealed to me. I have submitted my application and I was accepted.I made lots of friends and got great grades. I finished my studies with great success.

I was accepted. It took 80% overall average and I had 90%. I was interested in the program and so was student life. English was a challenge for me, but I managed. I then spent three beautiful years.
