Before the end of high school, we were told to choose what to do for our future, Even though I was not sure in which program I wanted to go, I chose to apply in Paralegal Technology in two different schools to seize different opportunities. I applied at Ahuntsic College and L'Assomption College. Thanks to my good grades, I got accepted at both places. Which one should I choose?

First, I was anxious to go in a new school where none of my friends were going. I heard that Ahuntsic were offering the best Paralegal program in whole Quebec so my choice was the best. I loved the classes, they were really interesting. My goal was to obtain my DEC in 3 years but to manage that I would have to have 8 classes per semester which is a lot. Either I choose to alleviate my school program or I keep my path grid and try to attend 8 classes per semester.

I chose this school to be with my friends and because it was closer to my house. I really like the program and the school as well. Everyone is friendly. My teachers are passionate so classes are easy to follow. The path grid says I could finish my program in 3 years if I attend to 8 classes per semester. Either I choose to keep the path grid or alleviate it and take it slows.

I made the right choice! All of my evaluations are at the same time, and I only have 6 classes, I can't imagine how it would have been if I kept the 8 classes schedule. I can breathe and take moments for me. Thanks to that I have to choose, do I want to find a part-time job to gain a wage while I'm studying or should I finish my long TBR list of books.

I chose to keep the path grid which means I have 8 classes per week, they are all very exciting. My favorite one is the Criminal Law. I chose to prioritize school over procrastination. I am determined to obtain my diploma in 3 years. At the end of the 6 semesters, did I hold up? Am I overwhelmed or I managed to succeed?

Going to L'Assomption was really one of the best choices, I get the chance to see my good friends and study for something that entertains me. I could not have been able to follow the next 3 years at a fast rhythm. I learned new things, I read a lot of doctrine and jurisprudential which is really different of what I have been used to read, but it still is passionate. Thanks to my choice to alleviate my path grid, I have some free time, and I get the chance to choose whenever I want to spend it.

I needed an income to allow me to spend money on essential things, so I decided to search for a part-time job to gain a wage. I applied in the closest restaurant in my quarter, and got accepted. I started working last Tuesday. I was really stressed about my first day, but it all went well. I received a training from one of my coworkers. She showed all the ins-and-outs of the job, and asked me if I wanted to keep my job during the summer. Should I accept the offer or take a work break during the summer?

Since my schedule at school isn't that bad, I will read books between my evaluations. This year, I made a resolution to not buy new books and read the ones I have at home. I have time for myself, and I will take it to read. I bought a new book, whenever I had the chance. I, now, have more than fifty at home. School left me with a feeling of emptiness. All the homework and evaluations were not for me. I have to take care of my mental health. With that decision, I decided to travel to discover the world and try to find something that will passionate me to do for the rest of my life. I made resolutions to improve my time management. Even though I pulled off A's in most of my classes, last year I came to the conclusion that I had done a cursory job on my homework, and it was always at the last minute. I procrastinated a lot. I am aware that my grades were good, but I felt too exhausted at the end of the semester. It was maddening for me to see the workload increase after each week. I was not motivated to do them. So, this semester, I decided to do a thoughtful job on my homework. I decided to change my work schedule to my part-time job so that I could prioritize my assignments and have made a thorough understanding. Also, I decided to put aside distraction like the many hours I spend on socials media. My goal is to be able to continue my social activities with my friends while getting straight A's like I did before and maintaining good mental health. Thanks to my effort, I got offered an internship in two of the biggest law office in the province; Langlois Lawyers LLP or Cain Lamarre LLP. Which one should I accept?

I studied thoroughly during all of my semesters, and it paid off. I got straight A's in most of my classes. I even got a scholarship in two universities to continue my studies in law. One is from the University of Montreal and the other one is from Laval University. Where will I choose to go?

Even though I had procrastinated a lot and had a lack of motivation, I succeed and got my diploma. College years were not my best years in my life like everyone said it would be. My drive of work wasn't the best, I should have improved my time management. I, now, have my diploma in my pocket. I am hesitating between search an internship or take a pause to relax and heal my mental health.

Everything is funnier when you are with your friends. There is one exception, I went out too often that I neglected my study sessions to go see my friends. I got really bad grades at the finals. My parents are mad at me, and want me to go at the cabin with them this summer, so I could think on how I will manage time the next semester. The end.

I had some time to kill and wanted money to buy me a car, so I submitted resumes almost everywhere. Yesterday, I got a feedback from two different places. It has been 2 years since I accepted the job at this restaurant, and I saw sexual harassment happens. Sometimes, customers were touchy or flirting. There was one customer, particularly, who flirted with all the servers and offered them money just because he could. One day, he slipped a piece of paper in the back pocket of a girl’s jeans while she answered the phone. I wasn’t dreaded since he did not do something else, but it was really inappropriate. We told our bosses about this perpetrator, and they forbidden him to come back because of his misconduct. Only girls were his recipients. Most of the males customers are looking at us like we don’t know they are doing this. That's a shame that women must have to deter men to see us as sexual objects. I have been told to cover up more to deter men to harass me. I decided to quit and find a better job.

My boss doesn’t hire new employees because there are no vacant positions since the job has a lot of benefits. Current employees want to stay. When I was hired, I was surprised by all the advantages bosses were offering. The salary is good, they are giving leave of absence when you’re pregnant, or when there is a death in your family. What surprised me the most was the generous vacation time. The people working at the HR are all nice. Thanks to them we have pensions for our retiring. I never had this at my other jobs, it was different. I didn’t like the vibe. When I heard the company I am currently working for was hiring I applied really quickly. I passed an interview after the HR did a background check. My boss gave me a drawback and proposed that I work either on a criminal case or assist a notary with his cases.

Since my office is in the law field, politics are strict. I didn’t expect the colleagues to be so friendly. When I got sucked up in a document on how to write a particular part of the contract, somebody helped me and explained how to fix this. I got scared of being undermined and underestimated because in law it is sometimes a misogynist situation. But in fact, nobody withheld information from me, they were all very respectful and sharing. More often than I thought, the office politics were better than excepted. My boss did not hinder my work and was curious to see what I had been working on. Since the environment was good and non-toxic, I was more determined to share and not withhold my ideas, my progresses, and achievements. At my previous job which was not in a law firm the environment was so bad that most of the employees left. Managers talked bad to us, they were withholding important stuff, and they were undermining us. Without that information we would get sucked up in when more customers came at the same time. I worked at a restaurant; I know it is a different field, but the way bosses are talking to the employees remain the same. Today was my first day as a trainee in a Law office. I was feeling nervous, but I knew that OJT would help me achieve practical skills that I didn’t accomplish at school. Not only it will be useful, but I will get a wage while I learn how to do the job. First, I ate a properly nutrient breakfast to prepare for this big day. I used the metro to go to the office. My boss showed me around and introduced me to the employee who was going to give me my training. She seemed professional and experimented. We were three trainees so I was not alone. Also, when I was younger, I always wanted to learn new languages, and I could achieve this while traveling. When I arrived in Costa Rica, I was happily surprised of the cultural choc. Landscapes, plants, wildlife are so pretty. I really loved every second of my trip. What should I do now?

I always wanted to volunteer abroad because there are so many advantages. Indeed, at the same time of helping people, you discover a new country and culture. The purpose behind this is to help the poorest communities. All helps are invaluable. Mexico was one of the destinations of my list where I would like to go volunteer. One of my friends volunteered to Cuba and, told me about her trip and how fun and meaningful it was. She helped people at their local school or in the fields, donated toothbrushes. She met new people that she will remember all her life. She went there for 2 weeks and came back with a different mindset. She really had an in-depth experience and, this is what pushed me to go to Mexico and live a life-changing trip. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. My fear of being kidnapped was real. I got kidnapped and held hostage for 2 weeks. My persecutors take off my eyes of their orbit, and sell them ob the black market. Be more careful when you travel... Go back where you can choose the destination of your volunteering trip.

I have read a lot of jurisprudential and doctrine and verified two times if everything was on point. It's the first time I have gone on court, I'm excited. The trial is starting. I interrogated my client and witnesses. It is now over, the jurors came back from the deliberation room. What is the verdict of this lawsuit?

I think I found something that I should not have. The biker group sent someone to kill me.

Yes! I was so happy to hear the judge says that the panel decided that my client was not the murderer. I was able to establish a reasonable doubt in their minds. My boss was proud of my great job and gave me a raise.
