My mind was trapped into the scheme of work, play, sleep. But, sometimes sleep had to be deprived, because of my lust of lite headiness. The games play itself has I search for anything to do instead of working at my projects. I had many interests, all of them were futile ways to gain confidence in myself without really accomplishing anything. There was the sports era, here to satisfy my physics, and the reading era, here to complete the education I, for so long, neglected. It is now the time that I chose where I want to go. But my real attraction are hiding into this massive mountain of possibility. Become a teacher like my parents, or just stop and enter into a sabbatical year.
Choice 1 : Register in Social Science at Lionel Groulx.
Choice 2 : Enter into a sabbatical year.
College is very different than my previous secondary school. Here I am responsible for all of my choices. The scheme I was scared of, eventually came back, but this time, the school helped me. Not directly, but by taking a lot of my free time. But it made me think of why I had so little interest into what I learn. The fact is, the paradox was that I always loved Social Science, but I never really enjoyed studying because I was doing it has an obligation, but not the one that prepare yourself for your future, but the easy rhetorical way that parents uses on their kids to make them do something. I was really tired of this alienation, and I had to do something. One, to slowly delete the entertainment like video game, or partying every night, while trying to get into the students' syndicate of the school, or two, continue in this path.
Choice 1 : Making good habits and project
Choice 2 : Continue in this path
If occupation was a suffering, I would say that doing nothing was worst. I spent my first month, playing video games and going out with my friends, without really doing anything. I got tired and trying to get a job, so that I could one day, buy a car and make the journey to school easier. My goal was Lionel Groulx, and it was very far away from my domicile in Brossard. Finally, I got a job in a factory of rubber, and was paid $22. I knew it was a dead-end job, because the employers always hire out of school kid. After nine months, I finally had enough to buy a car. A beautiful white Honda, brand-new. The employers, smelling my departure, offered me a job in the bureau, and of course offered me to pay the bill for the formation. A two-year training, in a Montreal school in administration. I had too chose, if I wanted to stay at this job, has a paid intern. Or go back to school in Social Science.
Choice 1 : Accept the offer.
Choice 2 : Go back to school in Social Science
I started doing the enterprise formation twice a week, while working in the factory. The wage was good, and I was promised a lot more if at stayed at the company. I got all the insurance coverage, dental, work, etc. And of course a REER for a future retirement. The job didn't really pleased me, but I thought that, just earning money would be the best thing. I got all the ins-and-outs of the bureau, and the way people putted weigh on my shoulder really gave me confidence.
Choice 1 : You stayed on the job.
Refuse had to be the best, because when I thought about my endless days of work, I knew that job wouldn't please me as much as learning. I then returned in my program, with my car, but the problem was that I didn't think of how returning to school with all my basic expense could not work. I lived away from my parent while working because I had the money, but now I could say I am broke. To such an extent, that I had to go live into my parents house again. Honestly it was no pain, because doing the laundry and making my food, this was difficult. After finishing college, I started University in Political Science and Philosophy. My two most preferred thing in the world were really close to me on a daily basis, but my work took all my time. My choice was to quit my job and start working at the University, doing research etc. Or keep working, but of course, don't participate into the school activities.
Choice 1 : Quit my job, even if I get in dept
Choice 2 : Stay at my job
I started working in the school syndicate, and I was pleased because a bit of political work, sparkled something inside me, and I knew it was what I wanted to do. The time I putted into the syndicate, and into my school work and job, took a lot of time instead of doing other, useless things. Of course, for my mental health I still took break once in a while. The down-side was really that I felt that I wasn't really building anything for my future. Of course, to learn the ropes of domain demand time, and test drive, but I wanted to build something, that really gives me money. I thought that if I saved money I could, one day, in a short time, maybes pay a condo and making profit with it. That idea was proposed by a friend, and to be honest, I don't really know anything about this, but I still want to make a choice, and working into the syndicate is either staying or leaving.
Choice 1 : Stay into the syndicate
Choice 2 : Start working more to save money
I got my college diploma, but I really feel like I didn't learn anything. It's strange how a brain can be there enough to make what he has to do, but not enough to even care. With all that, I am not very sure where I want to go. I got an ingrained way of doing things that really didn't help me chose a path. The reason is, my interest were somewhere else. I'm still going to university, but I still need to reflect on my choice. The problem is, if your life is based on "need", you will need it all your life. Action guides you to your needs.
Choice 1 : You stayed where you are.
I started doing more research at the college, and I learn the rope of research, and I loved it. When I finished university it was not long after, that I could afford to pay all my university fees because I got a job at a college to teach political science, and I did partisanship for many political deputes. It was what I wanted to do in life, and I knew it, but I of course after one desire, another one comes up. Sadly it comes an age that an individual can't make choices like he used to, the consequence are always more scary when the price is high, and I've never been much of a gambler.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
Working while studying is really hard, but I still nailed to get my diplomat, without any debts. I just feel like the stress took me a bit of my lifetime, and the smoking didn't really help. We could say it was a bad influence from coworkers, but I still want to take the blame. I started working at a college, teaching Political Science, and I really love it.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
I feel deeply in love with the syndicate and started to love administration, but more importantly, the pure goal of helping another. I was mad that all the jobs I've had, did not follow the collective agreement of the company and I pretty much dream of a better system. It is empirical that syndicates takes less place into the work environment day after day, and it decentralizes to make life easier for a smaller group of people, but don't care about misconduct of other firm. I then started to study administration at University, I have found a new goal.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
When the day arrived, and I got the money I figured would be enough to start thinking about taking a loan to pay my condo. I was already in university, and I studied Political Science. My economics' classes from the program helped me with this project I would say, and I am ready. The loan was accepted, because I make sure to never full my credit card so that I could always pay it. Now I need to wait fifteen years to finish paying my condo. All this work to wait again, I knew that in the beginning of my project, but it was to far away to think about it. I still think this is a good investment, but the end of the payment seems so far away too.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
University didn't get my attention, I was still focused on my private life I would say, and on money. Too scared to get indebted, I didn't quit my job, and didn't reflect on my future program. I could say it's the fear of engagement and the stress that makes me try nothing, I am like a rock, living balanced, without moving, and I don't have regrets. At least, this is what I tell myself.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
Human are built like that, they tend to like their situation and get adapted to it, until it is almost over. So, that your existence would not be seen as miserable from your own perspective. Descartes always said that what is commonly part of your life tend not to be questioned, for some it is right, for others it is wrong, who are we to be judging what please other? I stayed at work and retired, I was still part of my life and without regrets because dreams get forgot by the brains when it sleeps.
Choice 1 : The end - retry? (You can't in real life)
