After my years of studying at college, what's the next step in my life?

I completed my studies at college. I got the chance to play hockey during those years. I met extraordinary new people, created new friendships, in short, these were very good years. Now I must make a choice about what I want to do next.

Choice 1 : Going straight to university.

Choice 2 : Keep playing hockey.

Choice 3 : Travel around the world.

Which University should I go to?

I've always wanted to be a teacher. I want to see every child succeed no matter how hard it gets. Well, back then, when I was around 5 years old, I pretended that my stuffed animals were my students and gave them lessons with my books and pencils. So now that I'm going to the University in my program, I'm happier than ever, but I have so many Universities I want to go, but which one should I go?

Choice 1 : First option is University Laval. I can be surrounded by many of my friends I made while I was in college, but they aren't going to be in the same program as me.

Choice 2 : Second option is the University of Quebec in Outaouais (UQO). What's special about this University is that it's very close to my hometown. I can live at my parents house and only pay the school fees.

Choice 3 : Third option is the University of Rimouski, campus of Lévis (UQAR). I heard many people telling me that the teaching program at this University is the absolute best.

I want to travel the world, but where should I go?

Since, I’m in high school I have always wanted to travel around the world. I have always been curious about different cultures and their values from one country to another. Every country has his own attraction and I want to explore and live that opportunity before I have kids. I really think it will help to be on my own and learn new sides of me.

Choice 1 : Going in Europe.

Choice 2 : Going volunteer.

Choice 3 : Going on an organized backpack trip.

Going to Europe.

Europe is a small continent where every country is easy to walk in, 50 countries to be more precise. They attended almost 530 million tourists during the whole year. There're many people who are getting access to other countries because of the borders. I think it’s a pretty good way to start traveling when you have access easily.

Choice 1 : Going to France because their primary language is also the same as mine. I won’t be foolish to learn a new language. I can also eat some baguette and cheese with wine.

Choice 2 : Landing in Switzerland. There are so many beautiful mountains and landscapes in that country. I honestly think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Going volunteer.

One day, while I was in grade 5 in elementary school, I had a presentation about people who went on a trip to help people in need. It really impacted me in a good way. They landed in Africa and helped the population with teaching the kids or even building houses or even to heal them from injury and disease who are not cured in their country. Just wanting to help others regardless of what I need to do I will do it. I think it’s such an experience I want to live before I die.

Choice 1 : Going to Costa Rica.

Choice 2 : Going to Benin.

Choice 3 : Going to Haiti.

Doing a backpack trip.

I think doing an organized backpack trip with people you don’t know is a great challenge. You will learn to know each member of the group and the chemistry will begin. Another great advantage of doing this kind of trip is being less fortunate, so you can fully live through the experiences with people you just met.

Choice 1 : Going to Peru.

Choice 2 : Going to Australia.

Should I continue to play hockey?

I played hockey for almost fifteen years now. It’s a sport that gave me many competencies that I couldn’t get anywhere else. I’ve built friendship, and I learn to work with others when it’s not always pink. I have won many medals, some were gold, silver or even bronze. I lost many tournaments, playoffs, even games. It has been a huge part of my life for a very long time.

Choice 1 : Quit hockey and focus on other occupations.

Choice 2 : Playing in the United States.

I am quitting hockey.

I decided to stop playing hockey because I want to do something else. Getting out of my comfort zone and still being in shape and in good health.

Choice 1 : Going to get a gym membership.

Choice 2 : Taking dance class.

Choice 3 : Starting martial arts.

Continue playing hockey in the United States.

I decided that I wanted to continue playing hockey but in the United States of America. Apparently, there are many great programs not only in school but also in development for each student-athlete.

Choice 1 : Trying in division 1, in a team where I will play two shifts per game approximatively.

Choice 2 : Playing division 3, where I can play on the second trio in the team.

Going to the University of Ottawa.

I have made the decision to play in Ottawa because of many reasons but mainly my childhood. When I was younger, I did the hockey camp from this University, and it marked me in so many ways it can possibly. Doing a sport that you love with great monitors or coaches who are here to motivate you to become better humans and players. I think it’s been an emotional ride during all those years. That’s why I am going to this University.

Choice 1 : Should I take my program in French.

Choice 2 : Should I take my program in English.
