The beginning.

I just finished cegep and need to decide what I am going to do next in my life.

Choice 1 : Go to the University of Sherbrooke.

Choice 2 : Go to Laval University.

Choice 3 : Go in Europe with a backpack and no precise plan.

Go to the University of Sherbrooke.

After being accepted in my program, I move by myself in a nice little apartment near of the university. A few weeks after the start of school, I find myself a part-time job to make a little bit of money to pay my food and rent. Living by myself is a huge change in my life and I need to adapt myself to this new lifestyle.

Choice 1 : Try to make a girl I like at school become my girlfriend.

Choice 2 : Concentrate my energy and effort on school to get good grades.

Go to Laval University.

Going to Laval University doesn't make such a big change in my life since I still live at my parent's house and go to school by car. I don't need to find myself a new job and don't need to spend more money comparing to when I was in Cegep. I don't have a lot of fun, and I need some motivation to keep going to school.

Choice 1 : Drop out of school and get a full-time job.

Choice 2 : Stay in school and change of program.

Go in Europe with a backpack and no precise plan.

I land in France alone with a backpack on June 1st. I go to the nearest campsite and sleep there for free on my first night in Europe. The next morning I hop on a train and head to Paris where I'll visit the city.

Choice 1 : Head to Italy to continue my trip.

Choice 2 : Go to an underground party with a girl I met in a bar in Paris.

Try to make a girl I like at school become my girlfriend.

After talking to a girl in my program I have been liking since the first week of school and getting tired of always being alone in my apartment every night, I decide to ask her out on a date, so we can spend a fun night together and get closer to her.

Concentrate my energy and effort on school to get good grades.

Knowing that school is the principal reason why I am here, I decide to put all of my efforts into my homework to get the better grades I can get. I almost never go out and use most of my time to sleep or study. After learning that I failed an exam worth 30%, I got really angry and broke my laptop under the heat of the action.

Choice 1 : Buy a new computer.

Drop out of school and get a full-time job.

After losing motivation for school, I drop out and decide to find a job where I'll work full time and will earn more money. I become a waiter for a fancy restaurant in the middle of Quebec City. I have good conditions of work, I get well-paid and have fun when I'm at work. After a year, my parents tell me I should go back to University and get my degree in physical education teaching.

Choice 1 : Keep working as a waiter.

Stay in school and change of program.

Instead of completely getting out of school, I decide to put my plan of becoming a physical education teacher away and make a demand to get in the psychology program. After being accepted, I go to my classes and realise that I need to read a lot of books to pass the exams, which I don't like doing.

Choice 1 : Persevere in the psychology program.

Head to Italy to continue my trip.

After enjoying a couple days in France, I decide to take a train heading in Italy where I will go hike in the mountains.

Choice 1 : Continue my backpack trip.

Go to an underground party with a girl I met in a bar in Paris.

After having fun all night long with a girl I met in a Paris bar, she invited me to an underground party her and her friends are going at 3 a.m. I decide to follow her, but as we're getting there, I see a bunch of big men looking at me in an angry way by the front door. She tells me to follow her but as soon as we get in, one of the guys take my backpack by force and tells me to leave right now. So, I confront him to get my backpack back but all the other dudes come by us and start hitting me. Alone and with no defense, I did not wake up the next morning.

A night with Rosa.

After accepting my invitation, I picked Rosa up by her apartment by 7 p.m. and we went to a nice little restaurant together. We had a couple of drinks and a lot of laughs. We came back at my apartment and have now been together for 15 years.

After breaking my laptop while I was in anger, I got even angrier when I needed to buy another one and that I didn't have a lot of money for it. This taught me a lesson and for the next years I passed with my new laptop, I took care of it, and it allowed me to get my degree in physical education teaching at the University of Sherbrooke.

Keep working as a waiter.

After dropping out of school and loving my job of waiter, I decided not to follow the suggestion of my parents of going back to University and to keep working as a waiter in the fancy little restaurant I was in. Since this decision, I've been waiter in many restaurants since the last 30 years of my life and I am already able to retire happy.

Persevere in the psychology program.

After getting a lot of lectures to do by my teachers, I decided to persevere and to do them. As I was not used to read a lot, it has been very difficult, but I am now 28 and holder of a degree in psychology.

Continue my backpack trip.

After arriving in Milan, I went hiking in the north of Italy and had the best view of my life. Seeing this view and living the lifestyle I had been living for the past months didn't make me feel like coming back to Quebec. In fact, I won the lottery three days after my arrival in Italy and decided to keep this lifestyle. It has now been 4 years that I am travelling the world.
