When I was in high school, I always wanted to be a heart surgeon, but I did not have the support of my teachers during my academic progress.I had two programs in mind but a virus came all of a sudden't. This situation had an impact on my grades, which mean that my motivation was affected and my admission to cegep suffered the consequences. In 2020, a virus came into our lives and who would thought that we would be parts of history. In a few years, our children will be talking about the 2020 pandemic and obviously the whole trump situation. Here we are, after 2 years of isolation and many deaths occurred; we are still very fragile after what happened. Many lost their families or their friends or even their dog. It was a roller coaster in emotions, but we still fought for our freedom. Now lets talk about my graduation, we had a prom but a virtual one. My friends and I got all dressed up to be able to celebrate our success together. We laughed, we cried, we cheered but most importantly, we enjoyed each of our presences. The only bad thing about all this was the stress to decide between two programs.
Choice 1 : Pure and applied science.
Choice 2 : Studying in business management

As I was saying, I came to a point where I was stuck between two different choices for college. At first, I really wanted to go to Dawson to learn about pure and applied science. This program could lead to my dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. I always had a passion for the brain anatomy and how the brain cells connects to each other. Unfortunately, to be able to enter that program I need a summary of 90% and more. Obviously with the disadvantage of having a whole pandemic, this critical situation had an impact on my scholars and my mental health. I couldn't reach my goal because of my low grades. My whole dream turns out to be a big disaster. I didn't know what could I do now after losing what I really wanted. I talked to my parents about this situation, and they told me that i should still keep in my mind to be a surgeon.
Choice 1 : Listen to my parents
Choice 2 : Focus on another program
Here I am in a situation where I have to choose the brain over my heart. All I've ever wanted was to be a neurosurgeon, but now I have to focus ongoing in a program that I've also thought about even when it was not my first option, sometimes we need to make some decisions that don't necessarily come from the heart even when it's harder than it looks. This pandemic affected my grades and I just need to go with my reality and accept it to be able to pursue my education. I'm a little mixed up because I'm also interested in a Management program or even an entrepreneur program. I'm stuck between a lot of choices, but I need to make a decision to be able to continue in university.
Choice 1 : Being a entrepreneur
Choice 2 : Being a manager
My parents always wanted me to be a surgeon, it was also their dream, and now they think that because I don't have good grades, I'm not studying enough, and that I'm not good at school. This situation makes me sad because I always wanted to make them happy But I failed. But after a lot of discussion my parents finally stop putting pressure on me, and they let me choose what else I can do in my future.
Choice 1 : Focus on another program
The program that I decided to focus on is business Management. This program was always kept on my mind and I chose to go in it and forget about being a surgeon. This decision made me realise that I actually like studying in this program. But now I have to decide what I want to be in the future.
Choice 1 : Being an entrepreneur.
I’ve always wanted to be someone independent in my life but also in my work. I have so many good ideas and good knowledge on how to deal with a business that I’m very capable of studying in that major. I’m still young and very much lost in my choices for the future. One thing that I’m sure of is that I will be in a work that I enjoy what I’ll be learning and this is amazing from my point of view of being successful in your own major. But I can’t lie and say that I’m not one hundred percent sure that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. The problem is that I have an interest in the world of management that works better with my personality and my goals in life. I like to be my own boss and to manage my own business by hiring some employees. This is where I have to be sure on do I continue in that road or do I choose my management interest?
Choice 1 : Being a manager
When I saw the pros and cons of the two jobs, I’ve come to conclusion that I very much adore more this job than the other job. It’s better to be happy in your future major than depressed in a job that you don’t really love because of your wrong choices during your education. This is why I love following my heart sometimes because it makes me choose what I really love than what I’m forced to love. I rather be honest to myself than to lie to myself on convincing myself that it’s the job that I really want. Now I need to focus on which university to I want to accomplish my last years of studying. Do I choose the Concordia University, or do I go with UDEM?
Choice 1 : Concordia University
Choice 2 : UDEM University
This university is literally what I dream off because it’s an English university who has some sweet people that loves talking in English. I want to go on a campus that I will enjoy and that I would have fun studying there. The teachers are amazing and the people there are also known for being the sweetest. One thing that makes me kind of anxious is that I don’t know anyone there and this would be a big challenge for my self-esteem and for my confidence. On the other hand, we have the university of UDEM that’s also amazing, but I’m ready for new challenges.
Choice 1 : UDEM University
After thinking for a while, I’ve come to conclusion that I want to go to this university because I did a lot of research. It was saying that this university is one of the best universities for my major because it has a lot of good teachers and a lot of good help groups. We have a whole floor only for us because we are a lot of students that wants to study in that major. I also have my best friend who will also go to that university. I rather have my comfort person than having bunch of people that I don’t know. I want to have one of the best last years in my education because after that, I won’t be studying anymore because I will be hopefully successful in my stable job. This is where it comes to perfection because I choose what I love to do, and I also choose where I want to spend my last few years in university before going to the real world of Management.
Choice 1 : A new start.
