The beginning.

I just finished high school and like most people of my age I still have doubts about my future. Since I was a kid I’ve been dreaming about becoming a football (soccer) player and this could be the perfect time for me to focus on my dream, but on the other hand my parents and the “society” expects me to have a “normal” job, and in a part of my head I always knew that I could become a good lawyer if I’m not a football player. I want to make a choice because I know that I’ll give my 100% in whichever path I choose.

Choice 1 : Fulfill my dream and try to become a professional football player

Choice 2 : Go to college

Becoming a professional.

After days of thinking, and talking with my closed ones I decided to fulfill my dream. I started training by myself all day. It was simple: I could’ve been saw at three place; the football field, the gym or my bed. I was so determined to realize my dream that I de died to outwork everyone since I know that what was needed to reach my goal. I know that I’ll need to put all the bet on my side so I engaged a personal trainer. At the end of the summer I had an agent and he offered me three choices.

Choice 1 : Go to Portugal

Choice 2 : Go to the USA

Going to college.

Regardless of my dream, I decided to go to college because it was the safe choice. I know that there was another way for me to stay connect with my love of football even if I wasn’t becoming a pro. I applied to the University of Ottawa who is a top 60 law school in the world but is kind of far from where I live 1:30. I also applied to The University of south Florida that have a good Law program but not as good as the Ottawa one, but the have a good football team, and they’re offering me a scholarship to play for them.

Pursuing my football dream in the USA.

After reflection, I decided to go to the USA because I know that even if I get injured or anything happens I would still be in school.I was 16 years old, so I had two choice. The first one was to go to Montverde academy who is a top 2 high schools for football in America and the coach of the first team already spoke to me and offered me a scholarship. The second choice was to go to Orlando city u19 team. The coach already spoke with me and told that if I give my 100% he’s sure I can go pro before I’m 18.

Go to the University of Ottawa.

After visiting both school, I felt a deeper connection with UOttawa so I chose it. I applied for the mix law firm. It is a major in common law plus a minor in civil law. Since my priority was common law, but I still wanted to touch the civil law program to have it on my resume, it was the best choice for me. My first year was a great succes I was pulling straight A’s, and the school offer me a internship in the best law firm of the city for my second year. I didn’t know if it was the good choice for me at this stage of my career.

Go to Portugal.

Going to Europe is the goal of all young players in America. Since I was a kid I dreamed about playing in Europe. Also, I already have the chance to compare my skills to the best player in Canada when I went to team Quebec, and now I have the chance to compare it to some of the best player in the world of my age. My agent told me that I can trial with two teams; Sl Benfica a top 5 academy in the world so I may not stand out or “Belenenses fc” a division 1 team but not with the same aura as Benfica.

I remembered that my dream is not only to become a professional, but to be the best player in the world and for that you need to play with the best. I went to Benfica’s trial, and the coaches liked my profile and they took me on the team. I did a few months with my new team and my level sky rock. I rapidly became the best player on the team, and I started playing with the pro group. After my first pro game, some player asked me to go out with them despite the fact the coach have told us to not leave the hotel room.

I decided to go out with the players and the coach saw us. Since I was the new guy he decided that I wasn’t ready to be a pro and cut me off the team.

I decided to stay at the hotel to relax and respect the coach’s rules. The coach was happy to see that I was mature and offered me my first big contract.

I choose to go with the lowest team because I want to work in the shadows. After the trials the coaches didn’t like my profile but an agent saw me playing and told me he had another good club for me.

I was angry with everything and I wasn’t thinking straight so I followed him. He ended up being an impostor and killed me to sell my organs.

Everything was going good I was levelling up and the coach told me that a couple of pro teams reached him to ask they can have me. But one day with some other players we went to the beach, and when I wasn’t focus a crocodile bites my leg and a lost control of it. That means my career was over.

My first year at Orlando city was a dream. I had my best ever season finishing the year with the mvp, best scorer, best passer, best rookie and best recruit awards. Before the start of the second season we had a team dinner and I talk with a cute girl at it. It turns out that she was one of my teammate sister and he didn’t like the fact that I talk with her. Next training he tackles me really hard and broke both of my knees. It was the end of my career.

Accept the internship.

I accepted the internship so for my second year at law school I would be able to see how a real firm is working. Before starting, I learned all about constitution, criminal law, regulations, acts, courts, and everything. But I quickly understood that the theory and the practice were two different things. I was disastrous, and the law firm didn’t want to keep me. Plus I was focusing so much on my internship that my grades started to fall off as well.

Choice 1 : Go to the University of Ottawa.

Don’t accept the internship.

I stayed focus on my studies, and it pays for me. I kept pulling straight A’s and when I graduated the firm offered me a job with a really good salary because of my college success.

Go to USF.

At first, everything went well at USF. I was doing good in school, and also sports. I was in the top 10% of the best students in all off my classes, and we went to the NCAA tournament with the football team finishing 3rd in the nation. But I was diagnosed with a rare disease: the chicken lover’s virus. The disease cause me to always eat chicken, so I wasn’t able to keep studying or playing, and for that they canceled my scholarship.
