It was the first day of school at college. I just got out of high school and this is a new world for me. New school, new friends and new teachers. I study accounting. I know nothing about this field, but I didn't know what else to study in. I am a calm and meticulous person, so it seemed right. A few months after starting school, my friends asked me if I wanted to go on a year long vacation in Asia with them. I was really confused between going on that vacation, going to work full time at a random job, or to stay in school and pursue my career in accounting.
Choice 1 : Go on vacation with my friends
Choice 2 : Go work at a full time job
Choice 3 : Stay at school

I am really excited to go on that vacation with my friends. No rules, no adults to tell us what to do and party all night. Nothing could go wrong. I had a little bit of money in my bank account from working last summer. I wanted to buy a car, but that vacation is a better choice for now, I will make more money later, so I will be able to buy one. So, destination Thailand! Arrived in Thailand, some of my friends want to stay in the big city, Bangkok, and some want to go in the smaller cities.
Choice 1 : Stay in Bangkok
Choice 2 : Go in the smaller cities
I decided that accounting wasn't made for me after all, so I went to give my CV to places where they hire new people. I went at two restaurants, two clothing stores and one convenience store. Only one restaurant called me back for an interview. They are looking for a waitress. That is perfect for me because I will make a lot of money. The day after they called, I went for an interview, and they liked me. I am starting next week. Two months later, I love this job, and I will stay there for a long time I think!

Wow! I am happy that I stay in Bangkok. Everything is so different from where I live. The food, the culture and the people. It amazes me. Two weeks after being there, money has started to become rare for me. It's either I stay here and work illegally or I go back home.

Wow! The smaller cities are so beautiful. Everything is calm, colorful and joyful. Citizens are happy to see new people come and visit their culture. I love visiting Buddhist temples, even if it is not my religion. They are amazing. But, it is so calm, maybe I want to go party a little bit. On the other hand, I am missing my family and my home. Do I go back home, or I go to Bangkok?

I decided to stay in Bangkok and work illegally. I know it's not the moral thing to do, but I love it here. I started working at a bar as a bartender. I work from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. I love the night-life! I make a lot of new friends and started to speak Thai more fluently. One night, the police searched the bar. Two accounting firms approached me when I got out of school. One of them is a smaller one, it is a familial firm. People are nice and close together. The other firm is a big one in downtown Montreal. I had an interview with the accounting director, he seemed cold and strict. The only thing is that the salary is obviously better in the big firm than in the smaller one. I don't know what to choose.
Choice 1 : Work at the smaller accounting firm.
Choice 2 : Work at the big accounting firm.
University is huge! I don't think I will make some friends. Accounting in university is much harder than in CEGEP and teachers aren't as much closure with their students. I don't know I want to continue to study here. Should I go work as an accounting technician or stay in university?
Choice 1 : Work as an accounting technician.

This place is nice. I think that I will love it. People are welcoming, and I don't feel like a stranger here. The boy who trains me is the nicest with me. He is also cute, but I don't think that the feeling is mutual. On the staff Christmas party, I drank a little bit too much, and I told him how I feel. He didn't say anything back. Monday morning was really awkward. Should I leave to go work at the big firm, or should I stay here and hope that he forgets?

People are cold here, even the person who is doing my training. Even if the salary is better, I don't think that I will like it here. I better go at the smaller firm.

I decided to stay at this firm because I love it, and I feel comfortable here, even if I maybe created an awkward situation with my colleagues. We didn't talk the week after the staff Christmas party. The next Monday, he came to talk to me. He confessed that he also has feelings for me since I started working there. We both decided to keep our relationship on the low, but some of our coworkers started to notice something the two of us. We announced it, and everyone was happy for us!
