The end of high school.

Hello, my name is Léa, and I am 16 years old. I am currently in my last year of high school, and I have to make an important choice that will have an impact on my future career. I have to decide in witch program that I want to go in Cegep. I am accepted in the two programs I applied for, so I can either go in Natural Sciences or Business Management.

Choice 1 : Natural Sciences.

Choice 2 : Business Management.

Online classes.

I chose to go to cegep in Natural Sciences because I never really knew what I wanted to do as a job later, and I know that this program can open many doors to university, so I'm telling myself that I have chances to find something after my cegep. So, I'm now in Natural Sciences and online classes are starting to appear. We are only two weeks in the first session, and I am already doing math and chemistry at home all alone. Doing online class is difficult for me, and I don't want it to affect my results, so I think it could be a great idea to add a year to my cegep to lighten my sessions and have more time to study.

Choice 1 : Cegep in three years.

Choice 2 : Cegep in two years.

Three years.

I made the choice to do my cegep in three years instead of two. I have fewer classes in my sessions, so I have more to study and focus on each of my classes. Two years and a half passed, and it's already time to think about university. Two field of study interest me: the field of engineering or the field of heath, but I have to choose one.

Choice 1 : Field of health with nutrition.

Choice 2 : Electrical engineering.

Nutrition.

I got accepted in nutrition, and I am so excited. I moved to Quebec City and I live with my best friend. I really like university, and I am very satisfied with my results, sessions after sessions. When I finish my baccalaureate, I move back to Thetford Mines and I am able to start my own nutrition clinic in my hometown.

Engineering.

I'm so excited that I got accepted in electrical engineering. I have always wanted to work with my family in the company of my dad. My dad and my brother are electricians and my mother is the secretary of the company. After long years of hard work, I finished my baccalaureate and my father hired me as an engineer at his company.

Choice 1 : Start again.

Two years.

I finally decided to stay in Natural Sciences in two years because I don't want to add a year to my years of studies. I was able to pas my classes of the first year, but my grades were not high enough for the programs that I want to apply at university. I continued the session after, but my grades were getting worse, and I also failed a class. I therefore decided that I don't belong in Natural Sciences, so I will either drop out of school and get full-time at my job, or accumulate money and wait to find a new program that will suit me.

Choice 1 : Wait to find a new program.

Choice 2 : No more school.

New field of study.

After a few years of making money and take time to know myself a little more, I found a new program that I want to do, so I am going back to school, after all these years, in Social Sciences with the sport profile in order to become a Physical Education teacher.

Choice 1 : Start again.

No more school.

It's been a few years now that I dropped out of school and that I work full time at the restaurant La Porte d'à Côté and I really like it. I have had a few salary increases over the years, and I am very comfortable in this job, so for now I intend to keep this lifestyle.

Management.

I chose to go to cegep in Business Management to see where it could lead me. I always thought that I had the profile of an enterprising person, but I am very hesitant on the management part of the course. So, I ask myself if I should stay in that program because I am interested in becoming an accountant in my dad's company or, if I should take a break from school and take a sabbatical year.

Choice 1 : Continue the technique.

Choice 2 : Sabbatical year.

Continue the technique.

Finally, after three years of technique, I finished my cegep and I can go to university in administration. I will be able to become my dad's electricity company accountant.

Sabbatical year.

I don't want to stay in a program that I am not happy in, so I decided to take a sabbatical year. So, I started to work full-time, but after a few months, I had a flash. I really like playing with hairs, and I change of hair color quite often, so I had the idea to go do a professional study diploma in hairdressing. The only thing is that I had planned to travel around the world before returning to school, so I don't know if I should do what I planned or go back to school earlier.

Choice 1 : Go back to school earlier.

Choice 2 : Do what was planned and travel the world.

The comeback.

I told myself that it's a better decision to go back to school earlier, so I couldn't lose the interest to go back. So, I am now doing a professional study diploma in hair dressing!

I think that the right thing to do was clear in my head, but I was worried to make a mistake, However, I know that travelling the world have always been my dream, so I jumped in and bought a flight to start my trip in Greece.
