The adventures of Little Red Riding Hood

For Grandmother.

"Blanchette! Bring some milk, for Grandmother!" My mother called for me from downstairs. Today is Saturday, I was supposed to play with my friends but I have to visit my Grandmother across the woods. It would take me a day to arrive there! if only mother did not hate the village, she could've slept next to my room. I went down and took my basket on the countertop of the kitchen. I placed two bottles of milk. "I think I forgot something" I thought "Oh bread!" I remembered. I took my red coat that was hanging on a coat hanger and went off to the bakery. I told my mom that i'll fetch a few bread and muffins for grandmother. When I arrived, I saw my friends with a basket of fruits and bread. "Where to go, riding Hood?" My friend asked. They call me Red Riding hood as I was brave enough to go to the woods alone and because I always wore a red hooded coat with me. "Off to grandmother, through the woods and back" I answered while putting the bread I bought inside my basket. "I7ll bring her these goods" I continued. "Do you mind if we go with you?" They asked.

Sure, you can go!

" Sure, you can go" I smiled. My friends can accompany me into the woods and so I wouldn't get bored as well. We walked inside the woods and followed path with stones. It was peaceful as though only me and 3 of my friends are the only ones present inside it. the sound of leaves crisp due to our steps. Owls were hooting, resting on their nests. The light of the sun managed to enter a little of the few spaces that the tree hasn't covered. My friends were in awe, seeing this beautiful view of the woods. "No wonder your'e not scared of the woods and that your Grandmother wasn't living alone. It's peaceful here" One of my friends exclaimed. We continued to follow the stone path, at this point, We didn't reach half of our destination yet. We walked past a field of tulips and so we decided to bring grandmother a bouquet of flowers. We saw another field and went there. We were busy picking different flowers and played around since we still had plenty of time left. We forgot where the path was, w got lost and tried to look for the path. From a distant, we saw a man in black robe accompanied by 3 big dogs. We were thinking if we should approach him or just find the path ourselves.

I'll go alone.

"I'll go alone" I told my friends. They were forcing me to let them go with me but I said no. I got annoyed so i left them yet they kept following me so I just let the follow me at the entrance of the woods. "Guys, you can't go. It'll take me long to get to my grandmother so you should just stay" i explained. "Don't worry, my dear. You don't need to go to my house already, I'm moving in" I faced at the owner of the familiar voice. It was my grandmother and so I accompanied her back home and played with my friends afterwards.

The man in black robe.

We decided to ask for his help. " Good day, Mister. we kind of lost our way from the stoned path, Do you mind helping us look for it" I asked him politely. "Sure my dear, follow me" He flashed me a smile, showing his yellow teeth. His dogs carefully sniffed our robes. We followed him until we got back from the stone path. "Where you off to, children?" He asked. "My Grandmothers house, we will be delivering her some bread and milk" I explained in delight. "Okay, keep safe. the woods is not a safe place for little girls like you" He laughed. We went opposite directions. It's getting dark. we decided to take a quick break so we ate some of the fruits that my friends were carrying. We then decided to finally go to my grandmother's house. It was quiet and the lights were off. I knocked and knocked but no one was opening the door so i decided to open it myself. I and my friends went on her bed room. It was dark only the candles lit at the side of her bedside table was illuminating a few spaces of her room. I examined, her room a silhouette of a human figure. "Grandmother, i bought bread and milk!" I told her. "Place it on the kitchen, my dear" A husky voice answered. "Oh! Grandma! What husky voice you have!" i said in shock. "I feel sick my dear, don't worry" He signaled us to leave the room with a hand gesture. "Oh! Grandma! What skinny big hands you have! I said. The figure faced us. " I told you, children" the figure paused. "That doesn't look like your grandmother" My friend whispered. "Im sick" The man continued. We were shocked when he showed us his face. A skinny fit man faced us, he was wearing a wolf tattoo in his biceps. "Run" He said, almost a whisper. We threw him the basket that we were carrying. We went down from my granny's room and directly to the door. My grandmother was nowhere to be found. We saw the man, carrying a huge axe at the back of his hands, walking down the stairs calmly, piercing us with his stares. "Where is my grandmother?!" I exclaimed. tears were starting to roll down our cheeks. "No one is home, my dear" he scoffed. The door behind us opened, It was the village sheriff. He then caught the man and put him in handcuffs. The other policeman guided us into a group of people. Mother and Grandma was one of them. They gave us a hug as a sign of relief. I asked the policeman what was going on. The man that we encountered at grandma's house was part of a gang that kidnaps little children and has been eyeing us the whole day. The man we saw in the field of tulips was also one of them. They referred to themselves as The Big Bad Wolf. the tattoo i saw earlier was their logo. My grandmother explained o me that she went at our house early in the morning, i didn't see her because me and my friends were busy talking at the bakeshop. They thought that i was playing with them until my friends' mother asked my mother where we were and so they decided to call the sheriff to look for us as it was already getting dark. The end.
