I decided to go to the nearest college from my parents home. So, I could live with them during my school years. I chose to go in Social Sciences because I loved a lot of things. This program was great for me because we learn a lot in different subjects. So, after these years I may know what I what to do for my career. During my first week of my semester in college, I met new friends. One of theme was offering to join a club for the newspaper of the college. I was thinking about it because I really wanted good grades for university, and I was afraid that this was going to take a lot of my time.

Leave to travel the world.

I decided to leave to travel the world, and put aside school. My purpose was to discover life and make my own experiences far away of my comfort zone. After my last week in high school, I was going to buy my flight ticket, but I was hesitating between two completely different destinations. The first choice was Norway because I loved nature and cold country. My second choice was Costa Rica.

Choice 1 : Leave for Costa Rica.

Choice 2 : Leave for Norway.

Join the newspaper club.

I finally decided to getting sucked up in the newspaper club. I was really enjoying my decision because I like new challenge. I was meeting with the group of 15 people each Monday and Friday afternoon. In the first meeting we had to choose what section of the article we wanted to write. At that moment, I chose the political section because I wanted to go in that field of study and the supervisor really wanted me for this section. His name was Mark. He was the English teacher at my college, but he was not my teacher. After the second meeting, on Friday, he wanted me to stay after for helping me with my article. I decided to stay because he seemed nice and kind to me. However, my friends had also invited me to a huge party at her house.

I finally decided to focus on my class and my grades, so I refused to join the newspaper club. I was more often than not in my books to study. In my English class, I met a guy named William. He was calm and very helpful because I had some difficulties with the grammar. We had a lot in common so during the class we talked a lot. One day after the class, he asked me if I wanted to come at his home because he wanted to help me with the English exam that we had to submit next week. I accepted to go, and I was really happy to spend the evening with him. After the evening we kissed, and it was really perfect. He asked me if I wanted to stay for the night at his house. I told him that I could not because the next morning I had to go to work, and my parents would be very angry if I did not come home.

Choice 1 : Stay at William's house.

Choice 2 : Go at my home.

English class

Leave for Costa Rica.

I chose Costa Rica. I was so excited! I had no idea where I was going, so I decided to take the first bus that I saw. The bus was going to Puntarenas. The ride was taking five hours. We were on the road when suddenly, the car behind us was shooting at us with guns. The driver of the bus stopped the engine and stepped outside. He was immediately killed. I was so afraid. I did not know what to do, but I saw a little trap inside the bus. They were coming quickly, so I had to make a choice.

Choice 2 : Wait in the bus.

Leave for Norway.

I was so happy to go to Norway. I loved the country and the vibe that the people have. I chose the city that's called Bergen because it's on the side of the Atlantic Ocean, and they have typic colorful houses. My first day was like a dream. I went hiking on a mountain, I visited the city, and I finally ate in a beautiful restaurant. I was talking with the waitress of what I should absolutely do in Bergen. But I was not rich, so she told me that I could come at this restaurant and worked few hours per week. I was so excited, but I didn't want to work all the time because I came to visit and make new experiences.

The first week at the Fish and Friends restaurant was really nice. I was on my on-the-job-training, because I was never a waitress before. My wage was perfect for me because I did not do a lot of hours, but I was earning good money. Learning the ropes was easy for me, so I was quickly able to do my job correctly. Also, I met new friends. My life was really great. One day, after a long day, I received a phone call of my dad. He was saying that my mother was really sick and that she was in the hospital. I was so stressed, and I did not know if I needed to go back to Canada to see my mother.

Choice 1 : Stay in Norway.

Go to the party.

After the meeting with the newspaper club, I decided to go to the party. When I arrived, my friends invited me to go drink a beer and talked about our life. I did not know them before college, so I explain to them that I had the choice to go to college or go to travel the world. There were really surprised because it's scary for them to leave alone in another country. I said that I always had a lot of countries that I wanted to see and traveling gave you a great life experiences. After, the party, when I head back home, I was thinking a lot about all the choice that we make in one life. I think to myself what if I go to travel the world?

Choice 1 : Leave for travel the world.

What if?

Stay with Mark.

It was 8 p.m. Nobody was in the school anymore except for Mark and me. We start to talked about my idea for the article for the next week. I was telling my idea, and he was saying if he thinks it's a good subject or not. During this session of brain storming he was coming really close to me. I was not comfortable and dreaded the situation. He tried to touch and kiss me. This was really a misconduct comportment. I was really scared, and I decided to get up, take my things and ran away. When I arrived at my home I told everything to my mother, and she wanted me to go to the police station.

Choice 1 : Go to the police station.

Choice 2 : Stay at my house.

The street to go at my home

Continue my trip.

I decided not take the job and go in a little town in the mountain in Norway. The town was called Lom. There was not a lot of people who live there and there was no hotel. The night came, and I decided to go to the bar in the village. I was thinking that I could meet new people and stay at their house. I was sitting at the bar when an old lady came and talked to me. She was a native of this village, and she was exciting to meet new people of another country. She talked about her life. She told me that she has one dream in her life. She always wanted to go to university, but she never went. She was living far away of the nearest city, and she had to help her family with the farm. I told her that I quit school go to travel the world. She was very surprised, and she said to me that I was missing something. After that talk I thought in my head, what if I decided to go to college?

Stay at William's house.

I stayed with William. We talked all night about each other's lives. He told me that his family was really rich because his parents were in the army. They retired at the age of 40 years old and had a great pension. Also, when his grand-parents died they had a lot of money. So, William's parents set aside a big amount of cash for the future need. I said to William that money can buy a lot of things, but it can't buy happiness and joy. He said to me that money was really important for him. When he said that, I decided to leave because we didn't have the same values. After I left, I was questioning about my choice to go in college. What if I decided go to travel the world?

I finally went back at my house. When I arrived, my parents were still awake. They were talking at the table with their friends. I decided to go talked with them. Go inside the trap.

The trap was not far away from me. I open it and jump inside. The second after the men were on the bus, they shot everybody. The other people were screaming. I was so scared and at this moment I was thinking that I was going to die. So, I thought about all the choices that I took to be there, at this moment. What if I went to college? I maybe never would have been in this scary situation.

The second after, all the men came in to the bus with big guns, and they shoot the first passengers. I was hiding under my seat, and I heard everybody screaming. I was so scared. I took a flight to Montreal the day after I received that call from my father. I arrived at the hospital and my mother was barely awake. I just had time to say that I loved her, and she died right after. It was so devastating. My father and I cried a lot together. I would have liked to spend more time with her. I loved her so much. What if I went to college and stayed at my parent's house. I could have done more things with my mother and had great time with her.

Choice 1 : Go to college.

Go to the police station.

I met a police officer for my declaration about sexual harassment. For me, he was a perpetrator. I got out after 1 hour of talking with the police officer. I was really tired, and I directly head back home. My mother told me that I never should have stayed with him when nobody was with us. At this moment, I really hated my life and would have made things differently. What if I never chose to go to college, and instead I traveled the world?

Choice 1 : Leave to travel the world.

What if?

Stay at my house.

I decided to stay at my house and not to tell the police about what happened with Mark. I thought I had a tough day, so I went in my room to relax in front of a movie. During the movie, I was thinking a lot about the choices that I made to stay with him after my meeting with the newspaper club. We make a lot of choices in one life. What if instead of going to college I went to travel the world?
