Graduation.

Hi! My name is Jade, and I am 21 years old. I am currently graduating from Ahuntsic College in the Society and Environment Program. I was accepted in the Urbanism Program, which we can also call City Planner Program, at UQAM University. My semester starts in the Fall 2022, but I don't know yet if I want to enter University directly after Cegep. I'm debating on either or not I should spend the year traveling or start studying in my dream career.

Choice 1 : Study at UQAM University.

Since I am already accepted in the Urbanism Program, I think I will start university this Fall to get it over with as quickly as possible. The thing is there're three months of Summer before school starts. I am for sure going to enjoy it! The second thing is that I am also leaving my parent's house to go live in an apartment with my boyfriend and my friend. We are supposed to move in next week! At the same time, one of my friends is inviting us to his chalet during the same week. This is where I am perplex. I don't know if we should pay movers to do the job and then go to the chalet where I can enjoy my summer to the fullest. Or, do the moving ourselves and turn down the invitation for the chalet.

Travelling the whole year.

I am still young, and I have the time of my life to enter university, so I will take a sabbatical year. Since I am moving out of my parent's house this summer, I am going to leave the country only in the Fall because moving out is a pretty big deal, and it's very tiring. I also want to work during the summer, so I can save a bit of money to pay my rent while I am out of the country. I am not sure where I want to go. My choices are either visiting southeast Asia or visiting Central America and the west coast of South America.

Going to the chalet.

I decided to hire movers to do the job for me because I really wanted to enjoy my summer to the fullest before starting university! We went to my friend's chalet for about a week-long, and we went kayaking, paddle boarding, we also went fishing and ended all of our days around a nice camp fire. It is the end of the week, and we really don't want to leave his chalet because of how nice it is. His parents are not coming back until the beginning of August, so we could stay a bit longer. We are now debating on either or not we should leave or stay two more weeks.

Choice 1 : Stay two more weeks.

Choice 2 : Go back home.

Moving out.

Hiring movers were going to cost my boyfriend, my friend and I $600 which is way above our budget, so we decided to do it ourselves. It took us about a week to put everything in place in our apartment and make it our home. My boyfriend, my friend, my cat and I are very happy with the place. It is close to each of our jobs, and it is close to my university which is a bonus! Now that we are in the middle of the summer, I am wondering what to do for the rest of it. I saw on the UQAM University site that they are offering a free internship class for students that want to start a bit ahead of the course. I could to that or my second options are to enjoy my summer and go to all of the parties.

I decided to enjoy my summer to the fullest since I am starting university in the Fall and I wouldn't get the chance to party and hang out with my friends a lot. I went to all the parties in Montreal, all the bars and the clubs I had a blast! It was one of my best summers ever. I am actually kind of sad that I have to start school in two weeks. All this partying, meeting new people, living new experiences made me reconsider my choice for my early twenties. At the same time, I think it is a good idea to start school right now to get it over with. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Not going back to school.

Free internship class.

I decided to go to the free internship class in the Urbanism Program at UQAM University. I learn a lot about the subject, and I am for sure prepared for all of my courses when the semester is going to start. The thing is...

Stay two more weeks.

We decided to stay two more weeks at our friend's chalet. We did more kayaking, we went swimming, we looked at the sky at night and ended all of our days around a camp fire. The two weeks went by very fast, and it is now the time to go back home. When we came back we placed all of our furniture and our belongings at its place in the apartment. When that was done and we we're all set up, it was now time to see what we could do for the rest of our summer, and for me before I start university.

Go back home.

We decided to go back home because we had a lot to the in the apartment, and my boyfriend's boss called him to tell him that he needed to come in to work next week. After the week went by and we placed everything that we needed in the apartment, it was now time to see what I was going to do for the rest of the summer.

Southeast Asia.

I decided to spend the next year in Southeast Asia. I had the time of my life, and visited all of the places I wanted to. I went to Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines. I learned about their culture, their cuisine and met a lot of wonderful people. I am never going to regret not entering university this year. I learned as much as if I went to school. The thing is now, what should I do. I feel like I don't want to leave already.

Choice 1 : Go back to Canada.

Choice 2 : Decided to stay here.

Not going back to school.

This summer had a big turn of events on my life. I decided to not enter school for the year. We'll see where life brings me from now on. Thank you for following my story!

After this spectacular summer, it is now time for me to enter university in the Urbanism Program. I had a blast this summer, but it is now time to get back to the serious stuff and start looking out for my future. Thank you for following my story!

I hated the internship.

This was the worst class ever. Urbanism is not what I expected at all! I am kind of reconsidering my choice of career. I thought I knew what I wanted to become, but apparently I was wrong. Because of that, I don't think I will enter university after the summer. I don't want to waste my time in courses that I really don't like the subjects. This is a very big turn of event, but what can I say... I have to follow my heart.

Choice 1 : Not going back to school.

I loved the internship, and I can't wait to start school.

This was one of the best classes of my life. I learned so much about the subject of urbanism and city planner. This is really what I want to do in life. I can't wait to start school in two weeks, and make new friends that have the same passion as me.

Central America and the west coast of South America.

Going to Latin America was the best choice of my life! I met so many nice people, I ate the most delicious food ever, hung out in places you could literally call paradise. If you were wondering what was my itinerary, I started to the north, in Guatemala, then Honduras and after stayed a month in Costa Rica to finished with Panama. I then took a boat to go to Venezuela and did the whole west coast until I reached the tip of Bolivia. I was than for two mounts in Argentina. It was a really incredible experience. After all of these incredible, remarkable and unforgettable experiences, I sadly have to go back to Canada. I actually miss my family, my cat and my friends. I also have to start working again and saving some money, because let me tell you that travelling for a year and still paying your monthly rent is a lot of spending to do.
