I finally graduated from cegep and manage to pull of straight A's during all the semesters. It was because of my time management, I never put aside a homework, and it gave me advantages. Now it's time for me to decide if I want to continue to study, or I want to start working. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Study to university.
Choice 2 : Start working.
After a thoughtful reflexion, I decided that I should study to university. It would give me a better wage, and it would come in handy to have advanced studies. I started looking for which university that I should apply, and I don't know which one to pick.
Choice 1 : University of Calgary.
Choice 2 : University of Toronto.
I decided that I should start working. I always wanted to work in 2D animation, so it would be good to apply for a job looking for animators. I found two jobs. The first one is at Ubisoft, and they are giving OJT which could really help me learn the ropes. The second one is at Nintendo. They are offering an enormous wage, but it seems like a dead-end job. I could try to do an internship before working to one of these jobs.
Choice 1 : Work for Ubisoft.
Choice 2 : Work for Nintendo.
I decided to go work for Ubisoft. I wasn't sure when I arrived at work first it seemed weird at first, but I didn't bother too much on that. I started to learn the ropes quickly and within a month I made my first big animation. One of the employees' came to see my work and asked me if he could borrow my file to study my animations. I don't feel like I should give him my file, but I don't think anything bad could happen right?
Choice 1 : Give the file to your coworker.
Choice 2 : Don't give the file.
I decided to give him my file. What could happen if he just study the file. Once I finished my day I gave my file to my boss, so he could approve my animation. The boss looked at me and called me a theft. At first, I thought he was joking, but I realized that he wasn't. He asked me to explain why I would try to steal someone else's animation. The corrupted employee came to see me after my discussion with the boss and said to me "Welcome to the world of business" with a smirk on his face. I ended up getting fired because of him and would have difficulties finding another job because they put a note saying that I am a corrupted employee.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
I started working for Nintendo. It was like a dream for me to work for them. The employees were really awesome and helped me learn the ropes. I was overwhelmed and all my hard work would come in handy. After 2 months working for them, I was asked to build a lead a team of animators to make their next big title. I had the choice of the game style that I would like to make. I thought that I could do a fantasy game or an action game.
Choice 1 : Make an action game.
Choice 2 : Make a fantasy game.
We decided to make animations for an action game. As the time passed, I started to notice some unusual behavior from two of the animators. During lunchtime, I caught an animator flirting with another animator. She looked dreaded. When the perpetrator saw me he threatened me. His misconduct and sexual harassment were unacceptable. I ended up getting sucked up in a dangerous conflict. I have the choice to talk with my superiors about the situation or keep it all to myself.
Choice 1 : Talk to my superiors.
Choice 2 : Keep it to myself.
We all agreed to make a fantasy game. We hopped on photoshop and adobe after effects and started to animate our idea. After a year of hard work, we finally finished our animations and the game is ready to release. Everybody was overwhelmed. When the game released it was a total blast, everyone in the world talked about it being the best game of all times. We were all really surprised. All the overtime that we did was not for nothing. The feeling of accomplishment was strong. We were happy that no one undermined our work, or tried to steal our animations for their own benefits.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
I decided to not let the perpetrator get out of that situation that easily. I talked about the situation to my superiors, and they immediately called the perpetrator to their office. After a long discussion they fired him. When all that was finished, my team and I returned working on adobe after effects and tried to make some morphing in our animations to make them look better. The day after everything that we did on after effects was gone. They were probably someone that came and stole our work. Everyone started to accuse each other of being corrupted. After I took a better look at our work station I noticed that the theft forgot the hard drive containing all the animations. The hard drive looked familiar to me. I suddenly remembered that the perpetrator had an identical hardware. We all rushed to our boss's office and asked to check the security camera's. It was no big surprise seeing him on the video recording. We all made sure to make backups of our work and changed all the passwords to our accounts on after effects, photoshop and even the password of the computer. After this incident we finally released the game which was an enormous flop.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
I applied to the University of Calgery. I got accepted to study in programmation. I started to make small programs that would make a game engine work. For our first work, we need to program a small video game. We are asked to be in teams of four. I teamed up with three other students who were overwhelmed by the first assignment. We all meet up the next day to discuss what we should try to do for our first project. We all agreed on two choices. Make an Artificial Intelligence in our game or make a physic system.
Choice 1 : Make an Artificial Intelligence.
Choice 2 : Make a physic system.
I got accepted to my first choice which was the University of Toronto. We already started to learn how to make websites work and how to repair them or make them better. All of my colleagues were powerless in front of all the information that we were given. When the class was about to end, our teacher told us that for our first homework we would have to design and make a working website. We were all skeptical about this first assignment. We made the teams and went to work on the websites. We took some overtime to split the tasks. We decided to put aside the design and start to make the website work first. We all opened Visual studio code and started coding. Once we arrived at something that seemed to work we all agreed that we should add a last function to our website to make it better.
Choice 1 : Add a small hidden game on the website.
Choice 2 : Make a narrator for blind people.
We agreed on making an Artificial Intelligence. We took four months to make the final product. When we gave our project to the teacher he told us that we stole our code on the internet. We were all confused to that stunning answer. We tried to understand who could have copied all that code on the internet. Sadly the teacher gave us a zero and a warning in our academic record.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
For our project we decided to make a physic system. We all agreed that it would become in handy if we have to make a full game. For the next four months we all had difficulties to finish the project. Fortunatly, we finished on time and gave our project to the teacher. To our big surprise, the teacher was stunned by the complexity of our project and gave us a 100%. It would be later used as an exemple of what to do when presenting the project to the other students.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
For the project, we decided to add a small hidden game. We decided to not make it to complicated for us because we aren't very good with programming video games. Once the website was finished, we gave it to the teacher. When the teacher evaluated us we asked him if he found our small detail on our website. He responded no. He told us that it was a useless detail to add if we can't find it. He gave a good grade, but we could do better he said. We ended up failing his class because we always putted useless details.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
We decided to implement a narrator for blind people because we thought to ourselves that it would be useful to others, and it would give us extra points for the functionality. When the day we needed to give our project arrived, the teacher came to see us and congratulate us on the work we did. He said that adding the narrator for blind people was a really good idea because it's something that websites don't do often. We ended up starting a popular website when finished studying.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
I decided to keep it to myself. I didn't want to cause any trouble with the perpetrator. He continued to flirt with the same animator for five months. On day the boss came to see me and ask me if I saw the accident that arrived in the last days. I asked what happened. They told me that someone was harassing one of the employees. I instantly knew who it was. They told me that I knew it and said nothing. I was fired because I didn't tell anyone about the problems and numerous rumors were started on me. It was impossible for me to find a job without being someone who wasn't trusty.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
I decided to not give my file to my coworker. He was upset because he said that I wasn't a good colleague, and I should quit my job. When I gave my file to my boss, he told me that one of my coworkers tried to steal other employees work. He said to me to never give one of your works even if the reason seems good. He told me that my work was excellent and gave me a promotion. After 1 year of hard work there, I was promoted boss and became successful.
Choice 1 : The end of cegep.
