Psychology

Start at the beginning.

I'm studying at Ahuntsic College in Social Science and this is my last semester. After two years, I know for sure that I want to be a psychologist, but honestly I am a little lost for the next step. I don't know which university I should choose, should I study in English or in French?

Choice 1 : Study in French at the University of Montreal

Choice 2 : Study in English at Concordia

I tried to do my internship in a school, but I honestly hate it. Working with children is hard, they are hard to read, I would really like treating adults more.

Choice 1 : I hate this internship, I am giving it up.

This is a primary school.

I accepted my mentor's offer, and now I have my Ph.D.

I am happy to go work for my mentor, after almost ten years I finally had my Ph.D. It was so hard to get, but I did it, and I am really proud of myself for that, I can finally start my real life!

It's time for me to look for a job, because I refused my mentor's offer years ago.

I finally had my Ph.D after ten long years, and now it's time for me to find a job. I didn't like working for someone during my internship, I don't know if I should open my own psychologist's office or if I should call my mentor back to ask for a job.

Choice 1 : Open my own psychologist's office.

Choice 2 : Call my mentor to see if she has a job for me.

Open my own psychologist's office.

I really like to be independent, I want to be my own boss, and I want to be free to take some decisions that need to be taken for my patients and their therapy. I don't want to ask permission to anybody, and I don't want anyone to tell me how to treat my patients, so I've come to the conclusion that I will open my own cabinet.
