My Journey to Become a Marketing Executive.
College decision.
My name is Émilie. I have been studying in Business Management for two years at Ahuntsic. I decided to do this program to work afterwards in Marketing. This year I started thinking about my future, and I had to make an important choice.
Choice 1 : Pursue my studies at university.
Choice 2 : Get into the job market.
Pursue my studies at university.
Now that I knew that I wanted to continue my studies at University, I needed to make another choice. In which programme I wanted to study for the next three years of my life.
Choice 1 : Go study at UQAM in Communication Marketing program.
Choice 2 : Go study in Administration program.
Get on the job market.
Now that I knew that I wanted to go on the job market I needed to decide where I wanted to work as a Marketing executive. I had two options.
Choice 1 : Go work in the family business.
Choice 2 : Go work in a trendy company.
Go study at UQAM in Marketing Communication program.
I liked business, but I wanted to work more precisely in marketing. I have chosen to study directly in marketing because it was for me a way to have a perfect background check for my future employer. I was learning the ropes at school, and after I would be able to do my job as a Marketing Executive. When a started my BAC I ask myself if it were best to work at the same time of my study or to put all my effort in school.
Choice 1 : Work and go to school.
Choice 2 : Focus on my studies.
Go study in Administration program.
Administration was a good choice for me because in this BAC some courses can be credit because of the program I did in college. More often than not people that are doing the Business Management program in Ahuntsic do this choice and continue in this program at University. I was happy with my choice, but I needed to focus on my time management and decide if I wanted to live in Montreal or to stay in Repentigny.
Choice 1 : Live in Montreal.
Choice 2 : Stay in Repentigny.
Work in the family business.
In college my family acquired a creamery. I worked as the marketing executive in the family business because there was a vacant position. Also, I had assets of the company. This job was allowed me to get me a foot in the door, but I asked myself if this job brought me all the fulfillment I need or if I needed to change and go work in another company.
Choice 1 : New company.
Choice 2 : Stay in the family business.
Work in a trendy company.
I started in a new company by doing on-the-job-training. I always dreamed to work in Beach day every day company I now that I did for five moths, they asked me to do leg work. I will need to travel to work in the company, and I'm asking myself if I accept or not.
Choice 1 : Not accept to travel for work and change of company.
Choice 2 : Accept to travel.
Work and go to school.
Working and studying are invaluable because you can gain experience and learn at the same times. This was a great experience though I wasn't able to pull off straight A's. I was really tired. Just before the end of my BAC I ask myself if I should go do a mastery in Marketing or go work in my field of study.
Choice 1 : Do a mastery.
Choice 2 : Work in marketing.
Focus on my studies.
By doing this I was able to have in all my class straight A's and to pursue my study and do a mastery in Marketing. After my mastery, with all my good grades I have been hire in a really big company.

Live in Montreal.
I have been living in Montreal for five years now and after my BAC I found a really good job in Marketing at then minutes of my apartment.

Stay in Repentigny.
It's been 3 years and almost finished my BAC. I asked myself if I must continue my studies by doing a mastery in marketing, go directly working in marketing or take a year to travel the world.
Choice 1 : Travel the world.
Choice 2 : Work in marketing.
Choice 3 : Do a mastery.
New company.
It's been five years that I changed company. I loved the compensation package of the company. I am really happy in ma job.

Stay in the family business.
It's been three years since a decided to stay. With my job as a marketing executive I have been able to bring a lot of benefits to the company, and now I love my job.

Not accept to travel for work and change of company.
I left the company, and I knew that something that suited me better was waiting for me. Now it's been two years, that I work in a new company, and I really see that this business is worthwhile.

Accept to travel.
I traveled for two years because of work, and I loved my life. I sign a contract with the company to do the same ting for the next five years. I loved to be always on the move, and I will continue this for five years.

I did my mastery in two years, and after I finally became a Marketing Executive in a company that I love because there is no corruption. The company is transparent with its employees.

I found a wonderful business, and I have been working for the past five years now. I really have the impression of making a difference in the company.

Travel the world.
I traveled the world for a year now, and I loved it. I did all continent. When I was in Costa Rica, I volunteered abroad and the experience was invaluable. I learned a lot about myself. After one year traveling I asked myself if I continue to travel and work at the same time in marketing in other country, or I came back to Canada.
Choice 1 : Continue to travel and work in marketing in other country.
Choice 2 : Come back to Canada.
Work in marketing.
I found a company, and it's been two years now that I am working for them. I don't like my job. There is a lot of office politics and conflicts between employees. I am not getting sucked up in those conflict, but I am sad to work in an environment like this.

Tho do a mastery.
After my BAC, I started a mastery and after one year I stopped because a company made me an exceptional job offer with great compensation package and a really good salary. I could not say no. It's been now 1 year that a work for this wonderful company.

Continue to travel and work in marketing in other country.
I didn't stop traveling for the past six years. When I find a job in a country I work there for approximately six months, and after I change to another country. I love the way I live, and I will continue to do that as long as I can.

Come back to Canada.
When I came back to Canada I found a Job two days after my come back. I wasn't expecting that, but I am really happy, and I love my life as a Marketing Executive.
