My Life Choices as a Manager

My Beginning.

In the following months, I will graduate from high school. After I immigrated to Canada, I had a lot of difficulties in my school career, but with a lot of effort and good time management, I now have the chance to graduate from high school with straight A's. Soon I will have to choose if I would like to continue my studies in college or enter the job market.

Choice 1 : I decided to continue my studies at Montmorency College.

Choice 2 : I decided to stop my schooling and I started working.

I got accepted into the College in the Business Management program. After three semesters, I realized that I do not like the program in which I am. I thought, because I was already halfway there, I decided to continue my studies in business management.

Choice 1 : After Graduation.

Choice 2 : Continuing my studies at the University.

After Graduation.

I finished my studies after three long years of study at college, I finally pulled off my diploma. During my last year of college, I did an OJT. I liked it because it didn't have a lot of drawbacks and in addition I had a good wage. After, graduation I found myself a job. Unfortunately, the salary was low and my job always had a bias against women in management. I quit my job.

Continuing my studies at the University.

My entourage knew very well that I never liked school. Even if, sometimes I had only straight A's I didn’t like schooling. After I graduated from college, my family convinced me to continue my studies at university. I did 1 year and then I dropped out. At this point, it was way too much for me. I was always in a bad mood, and it affected my loved ones. I even went so far that in consequence I lost a friend of many years. I regret not listening to myself.

I didn't like the college and the program I was in. So, seeing that I was lost, and I decided to drop out of college and find what I love. For 1 year I tried to find myself but my family put a lot of pressure on me. They didn’t like the fact that I don't have a college degree. I got even more lost, so I finally decided to go back to school, so my family would leave me alone.

I decided to stop my schooling and I started working.

I started working in a transport company at the reception. The job was easy, and it offered a lot of opportunities. In addition, the company paid for our training. Also, if, we wanted to change workstation they give us the necessary education. My work helps the interns as much as possible. I have the choice to continue my career in this company or find a new job.

I did not see myself in the transport company. So, I applied to Indigo, a book store. I was accepted and I liked working there. I was never bored with my co-workers. They were funny and kind. Subsequently, I was thinking starting a training to becoming a sales manager.

I found an intense sales training that lasts 2 months at a college in Montreal. I registered directly and started my education. The training offered me an internship at Honda Laval and I accepted it. For me, it was a great opportunity, because I could have a foot in the door on-the-job-training. Afterward, when my job training was finished Honda proposed that I became a salesperson at their company. Should I accept it?

I accepted the job offer. After working for a while I realized that I couldn't imagine a job better than this. I loved the environment of my work and especially the people I work with. They are always there to help me if I need something, and they give me a lot of advice to sell more cars. Thanks to my colleagues with whom I work and this job after two years I had the chance to buy my first house and a new car.
