The beginning of the end of my very long studies.

After two years of long studies Nursing program, at the beginning of the summer, a choice that had to be carefully considered was available to me.

Choice 1 : Travel the world with my family for volunteering aboard.

Choice 2 : Working as an external in nursing.

First of all, I really like to travel. Volunteering aboard was always been a dream for me. The main purpose I study care was to be able to help abroad a take humanitarian trips. I spend my entire sessions studying and giving my best so that I can finally take advantage of it in the summer to relax and travel and volunteering aboard this summer is one of the best worthwhile opportunities that has happened to me. we can not undermine about it. It's true that there were many disadvantages such as getting out of your comfort zone or doing it for free, I also can be skeptical, but the advantages where even more beneficial. Already volunteering was a good thing because in the end you help it wait in return, and it's a huge sign of generosity. On the contrary, withholding is a nasty defect. The human contact was even more precious, I don't speak a lot of language but humanity was a universal language. You discover new cultures of new places, you meet new people and that's what's invaluable and fulfillment moment. Why don't you give your time to help other people? If I were you, I would take advantage of my travels to share cultures and open up to the outside world by helping the poorest of the countries I visit.

Working as an external in nursing.

After 2 years of study in the complete program, he allowed us to apply for an external job to work in a duo with a graduate nurse to have a foot in the door, to be able to learn the ropes, to develop invaluable knowledge and practice at best to come in handy for the future session. Obviously, as it is not qualified as an internship we are paid. These are the two positive points that have me focused on this choice. Money and experience. The experience especially, since my internship teacher told me that 95% of the students who do best in the next session are those who have done the external job. Nursing is a profession that is always gonna give you hope of progress, no dead-end. That being said, it was a major point to consider making my choice. So, I had to pass two job interview in two different hospitals.

The first job interview was scheduled for in four days. I was nervous for the interview despite the fact that I had a lot of friends who had succeeded and who had told me that the questions were relatively easy. Often when I'm nervous, I can't focus on the task and the fact that I'm not productive makes me nervous. So here I am in a vicious circle that never ends. Having never done an interview in this area I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised by the first question I was asked: What are the signs and symptoms of acute edema of the lungs? That was as this moment that I knew I lost the job. Being someone who questions myself a lot and who above all puts a lot of pressure on myself. I completely questioned my school career.

The second interview was given to me 1 week after the first one. I was even more stressed than the first time but this time I was prepared well for it. I knew about the question would revolve around what. I revised on a little everything. What are the signs and symptoms of hypertension? What should we monitor in a patient who comes out of surgery? I was informed about all possible topics: Bronchospasm, pulmonary edema, Appendicitis, Atelectasis, Cholelithiasis. When the day of the interview arrived I was comfortable and that's seen in the interview since I managed to get the job in the end.

Somalia.

Somalia is known to be a poor country. Not being Somali and not knowing anyone of this origin, it is essential to go through an association to be able to travel to this unknown country. We have had a good return on this country, on the population and their culture. It is interesting to learn new cultures, to live like them for a moment to be able to better sympathize their need in order to help them best. It is a country that requires a lot of help, and I think it would be very rewarding especially to get out its comfort zone. Especially since it will allow me to create memories with my family, and develop experience in my fields of study, Nursing.

Algeria.

Algeria is my country of origin. Often, we want to help people all over the world, but we may forget the surrounding people. This country is more accessible to me in particular because my parents, grandparents and family are fully immersed in this magnificent culture. I speak the language of the country, which is easier on a humanitarian trip. In particular, I don't need to go through an association since I know about what the poorest regions are and how to organize myself during the trip. Despite the fact that I know the country rather well, it's just as rewarding.
