After 3 years of studying at the University of Montreal, our teachers present us the internships we could choose before completing our diploma. I am hesitating between two of them.

Choice 1 : Choose to do my internship as an assistant with a psychologist in a high school.

Choice 2 : Choose to do my internship at a private psychologist' clinic for adults.

decision

Choose to do my internship as an assistant with a psychologist in a high school.

This internship is really interesting and fun. The psychologist who did the job training with me is very patient and professional. I learned most of the ins-and-outs very quickly. I even had the chance to get a wage while being a trainee. I totally enjoyed my experience. Working with the youths was amazing. I then decided after my internship I wanted to work in an educational environment. Luckily for me, the psychologist enjoyed my work and offered me a job right away as their assistant when I complete my diploma.

Choice 1 : Accept the job and start working as an assistant and starting with a good salary.

Choose to do my internship at a private psychologist' clinic for adults.

Being a trainee at this clinic was very demanding and overwhelming. It even had me rethinking my whole choice. This internship was getting worst day by day. The work environment was toxic. More often than not, the employees were gossiping on everyone. I almost got sucked in some drama one time. It was hard to learn the ropes of this job with all those distractions. I didn't want to continue being an intern at this clinic.

Choice 1 : Stay and finish my internship no matter the conditions.

Choice 2 : Leave and decide to start another internship at the high school my teacher recommended as an assistant for a psychologist.

Stay and finish my internship no matter the conditions.

Unfortunately later on, some big drama happened. I got sexually harassed by two employees at the clinic. At first, they were flirting even though I wasn't interested. Then, at some point they started harassing me. I confess with one of the other interns what was going on, and she told me that it happened to her to. Only they had touched her in some inappropriate ways. I was furious and decided to make a complaint to our employer, he did nothing about it. The police had to get involved. They found out the whole clinic organization was doing fraud and that some patient had been victims of the employees there. The employer and the employees involved were arrested, and they had to close the clinic. I wasn't able to finish my internship, and I was devastated. I wasted my whole energy and time for nothing. I then decided I had to take a break from school. This drama was too overwhelming for me.
