My New Life as a Nurse Student
My First Semester.
I am currently a new nurse student. For this semester, I will have lots of evaluations, an internship and a lot of work to accomplish my nurse diploma. In two weeks, it will be my first chemistry and my first biology exams. Both teachers gave us some lessons and particular specifics to study. I know that I am a professional procrastinator but my way always worked out so far. I’m wondering when I should start revising and studying my subjects.

Following a Good Schedule.
I am so proud of myself. For once, I really did follow my schedule, and started revising my lessons in advance. I can see the results by the exam grades, and I can now choose a good internship for my next trimester. In a month I’ll have to chose where I’d like to do my internships. There are a lot of choices, like the hospital, the clinics or schools. The first internship is where you study the work of a Nurse, look how he or she works and takes notes to make a final analysis.
Choice 1 : Hospital Internship.
Choice 2 : Clinic Internship.
Choice 3 : School Internship.
The Procrastination Cycle.
As always, I will make myself a study schedule, so I can study in advance. Perhaps, I will maybe do one thing I wrote or even none. I will procrastinate and it will give me anxiety. At the last day before the exam I will rush myself into a huge study session, won’t sleep and be super effective because of the stress I have. I will be prepared, stressed and tired the day of the exam but will have reviewed all my stuff in really short delay, so it’s fresh in my mind.

Hospital Internship.
First, if I decide to take one at the hospital a lot of options are there for me. There is the emergency, the pediatric and the gynecology that would interest me. There are also a lot of personnel and multiple employees that would probably be interested in having e as their student.

Clinic Internship.
I can also decide to take my internship in a private clinic where I will be seeing patient in one-one and received a different approach from the public hospitals. It’s a different way of learning but still interesting. Also, if I chose a clinic I can later have contacts and have more facility to find a job or a place to do my next internship. Since it didn’t go well at the scholar internship, I will try to have an on-the-job training in a clinic. I will do my best at the interview.

School Internship.
It is the one I choose, and I had to do a job-interview to get it. It went so bad the nurse told me « You really don’t look professional enough to work here with all your tattoos ». I was very offended, and I promised myself to never try to work in a school again and it convinced me that school isn’t a place where people are open-minded and kind. It didn’t seem to be a good place for me to learn as the co-worker where that mean.

It went so bad, I didn't understand any of my health cares questions. It's obvious that I failed my exam, I'll have to redo this class and prepare myself by another method.
