Beginning of real life.

It's the end of high school. I don't know what to do next. Two choices were available to me:

Choice 1 : Apply to Montmorency College and study in physical rehabilitation.

Choice 2 : Start to work without college diploma.

Apply to Montmorency College and study in physical rehabilitation.

I decide to go to Montmorency College. Although I have a lot to understand I put aside difficulties and have good time management. I successfully get straight A's in all of my classes. After 3 years of study, I receive my diploma as a physiotherapy technician. Now, 2 choices are available to me:

Choice 1 : Apply to university and study Physical rehabilitation.

Choice 2 : Start to work immediately.

Start to work without diploma.

School have never been easy for me. I never get straight A's in my classes. Starting to work now is the best way for me to feel happy. Lots of jobs are available, but I don't know where to apply.

Choice 1 : Work in a clothing store.

Choice 2 : Apply for work in a restaurant.

Apply to university and study physical rehabilitation.

After applying to several universities, I decide to go to the University of Montreal because it's close to my home. After 5 years of study and perseverance in the field of physiotherapy, I finish my studies and obtain my diploma. I am very happy to be a physiotherapist now. I will now be able to work, but I don't know where because several options are available to me:

Choice 1 : Work in a hospital.

Choice 2 : Work in a CHSLD.

Start to work immediately.

I decide to go to work in a private sports clinic near my home and I learn the ropes. After 2 years of work, I feel that I lack freedom in my work because I have to follow in-depth what the physiotherapist ask me to do with the patient. I ask my favorite colleague what should I do. He said."If I were you, I would".

Choice 1 : Go back to school and continue to study physiotherapy.

Choice 2 : Work in a CHSLD.

I have several interviews, and now I work at the Hospital Ste-Justine. After 10 years of working with children at this hospital, my work team and the HR organize a party to congratulate me on my exceptional drive of work. After the party, my boss sends me an email to ask me if I want to become the boss of the clinic because he is retiring soon. What should I do?

Choice 1 : Become the boss of the physiotherapy department.

Choice 2 : Stay at my position as a physiotherapist.

I decide to work with older people and the work is really different from what I thought. I have to be really patient with my clients, and sometimes I feel like I'm going to get angry because some of them have difficulties understanding what I ask. To make sure that I never misconduct for a situation, I think I will work in a clinic because otherwise I will be unhappy for the rest of my life.

I start working in a private clinic and despite my professional experience, my boss treats me like an intern. She always observes my work, and she is never grateful for my work. The wage is really low for the work I do, and I don't feel good about it. I think I will go back to school, and I will study in another program.

Become the boss of the physiotherapy department.

I am now the boss of the physiotherapy department at St-Justine Hospital. This job requires a lot of overtime and management work. My old boss helps me to learn the office politics. My employees often come to see me asking for advice on pathologies, and I help them without any drawback. After 40 years of work, it is now my time to retire. After a farewell dinner organized by my work team and the HR, a colleague ask me what I would do during my retirement.

Choice 1 : Travel around the world.

Choice 2 : Become a volunteer in several events.

I decide to refuse the request because managing a work team is not something that interests me because I do not have very good leadership. I heard from colleague that some employee allows himself to try a certain flirtation with the boss for having a higher wage, and I don't want that happen to me. Suddenly, my cell phone rings, and I learn that my mother has a serious accident. I do not know what to do right now.

Choice 1 : Go to the hospital right now.

Choice 2 : Finish my day of work and go to the hospital after.

Travel around the world.

After visiting all the countries of Europe, Belgium is my favorite one, I decide to return at my home because I miss my family and I feel tired.

My dream is to retire filled with adventure, so I decide to volunteer at several events like at a blood collect, a party in my neighborhood for Easter, etc. I'm feeling fulfillment.

When I arrive at the hospital, the doctor tells me that my mother would surely die soon because he diagnosed a lung cancer. After this sad news, I decide to take a long leave of absence to take care of my mom.

When my long day of work was over, I go to see my mother at the hospital. The doctor tells me that she broke her right arm because she had a plane accident. When the doctor leaves, my mother tells me that she is angry because I came to see her 6 hours after her accident.OUPS.

Go back to school and continue to study physiotherapy.

Despite the studies which require a lot of effort, I am proud to persevered thoroughly in my work and exams and to now be a physiotherapist. Now I have more freedom in the decisions of my work, a good income, and I am happy about it.

Working in a CHSLD is so much more pleasant even if I often have to repeat the same instructions to patients, I feel that I have a lot more freedom in my work and I really like that. But sometimes, I find the work is too repetitive, so I don't know what to do:

Working in proximity to people is ultimately not something I like. Cleaning dirty people, always repeating the same thing is not nice for me. It's looks like an on-the-job-training, and I don't like that. I think I'll go back to school and study to be a pilot. Traveling all over the world and having to control a plane is now my dream.

After giving my CV to several stores, none of them call me back. I think I will put aside the idea to work without a college diploma, and I'm going to go back to school. I will get a good job for the rest of my life with a good wage.

It has always been my dream to work for the restaurant Jack’Astor in Boisbriand because when I was a child, I often come to eat at this restaurant with my family. I am now officially a trainee, and I am doing my on-the-job training so that I can learn the ropes. My boss asks me where I want to work next. Which should I chose.

I continue my work because I don't want my boss to quibble with me because I misconduct. The client trying to talk to me, and I'm very anxious. The young man decides to leave the restaurant, and I never see him again. I'm still sad because he seemed like a good boy.
