A chosen life!

Graduation at Ahuntsic College in Business Management.

I am almost done with my cegep at Ahuntsic College, and now I have to choose where I go next. I hesitate going in advanced business studies (HEC Montreal) or applying in criminology at the University of Montreal.

Choice 1 : HEC Montreal.

Choice 2 : University of Montreal.

!

University of Montreal.

I get in the criminology program at the University of Montreal, I get straight A's for the first two years, and then realize that I actually hate the program, but I just need to do one more year to get my BAC.

Choice 1 : Continue in the program and apply for an internship.

Choice 2 : Change program.

University of Montreal

HEC Montreal.

I am now in advanced business studies, and I love the school. I realize that if I want to understand fully the field, and learn the ropes, I should get a foot in the door, but I am scared to be overwhelmed by all the school work and then not be able to work and study at the same time.

Choice 1 : Get a first low-level job in the field.

Choice 2 : Stay focused in school.

HEC montreal

Continue in the program and apply for an internship.

Even though I do not like my studies, I find myself being kind of interested in discrimination and child development, so I decide to apply as an intern in a youth center.

I am no longer at the University of Montreal and realize that I made a bad choice at the first place. I am now sure that I want to work with budgets, accounts, brands, and clients. I need to go in advanced business studies.

Get a first low-level job in the field.

I want to get a job in my field, so I can learn more about human resources, wages, benefits, entrepreneurs or even headquarters. For this to happen, I need to apply in some Marketing companies that hire students. I find a job offer on "Indeed" as a product ambassador and decide to apply. Then, they call me for an interview.

Choice 1 : Go to the interview.

I decide to prioritize my time management and be a full time student without any distraction. In the meantime, I meet the love of my life in my Finance course.

Choice 1 : End of the story!

Love at first sight

Apply for an internship in youth center.

I am now an intern in a youth center, and I love being with kids all day. I even work overtime sometimes. However, a misconduct happened recently with one of my colleagues. I actually went into a sexual harassment situation, and I can't go at this place anymore. I decide to put aside this part of my life.

Choice 1 : End of the story!

Sexual harassment

Go to the interview.

I am now an employee of a popular Marketing company, and I work 20 hours per week. I am promoting products, creating advertisements, making agreements and appointments with customers, and I even learn a lot about the business plan of the company. Also, because of this job, I can qualify myself of being on-the-job-training because I realize that this is what I want to do in my future career. I totally have the best of both worlds because I practice what I learn in my courses at my current work. This is perfect.
