Here’s where life begins!

I just finished high school. I really want to go in Health Science because I love biology. I’m so excited to start something new, but I already have to decide on where I want to go for Cegep. There's Montmorency College, where I know a lot of people, and it's not really far from home. There's also Dawson College. It's in English, so I'll have to study harder. It's also a little far from home...

I decided to go to Montmorency College, and it was the best decision. I have straight A's and more than enough friends. I'm also close to my family so there're no drawbacks. I'll soon have to decide on what and where I want to study at University. I'm thoroughly excited!

Going to Dawson was the worst decision. I got overwhelmed with English homework, and I didn't have good time management. I decided to drop out. I put aside school, and now I have a choice to make.

I finally decided to go to The University of Montreal. It's in French and the programs are much more interesting. I really want to become a biochemist, but I don't know what program of this field interests me the most.

As soon as I entered at McGill University, I got to know a boy that I was really attracted to. I fell in love with this boy. He was the most thoughtful person I've ever met. At this point, I was really into my love story that I forgot about school. I had no more time to study, so I had to decide.

Traveling was not a good idea. I had no more money to survived and became in-dept. I had a lack of knowledge and didn't know I had to put aside some money before travelling. My parents will be so mad.

I decided to work overtime at a little coffee shop for a minimum wage. I started with an on-the-job-training, and I immediately loved it. I easily learned the ropes and after a month, I wasn't a trainee anymore.

Choose to be a biochemistry analyst.

My bachelor gave me a foot in the door to work as a biochemistry analyst for the police. I really thought it was going to be a fun job, but I was wrong. It was a dead-end job. I was so bored and the work environment was toxic. There was office politics and misconducts from my colleagues. I was working in the lab all day, analysing DNA and body fluids. I wish I could go back in time...

Choose to be a research biochemist.

There was a vacant position as a research biochemist, so I took it. I really loved this job. I worked overtime because I had the drive of work. I had the chance to learn the ins-and-outs, and I had a pretty good income. Unfortunately, one day I wasn't careful enough in the lab. I mixed two wrong solutions together, one acid. It burned me so and without realizing the Erlenmeyer flask fell and an explosion happened. After the incident, one of my colleagues said to me: "If I were you, I would quit before your boss fire you". With no surprise I got fired the same day.

Happy ending.

After working extra hours for years at a little coffee shop, I had enough money to open my own shop. I am so happy about my choices and I regret nothing. After a few years putting aside some money for a pension, I had enough to retire. I'm thoroughly happy to have found a purpose in life.

I was completely miserable. I hated my job so much, I felt like I was running away from my dream. What I really wanted to do is to be a teacher. I finally decided after a year working for the police, to quit and go back to school!

Stay at the company.

Even if I was miserable, I have to admit that I was really good at my job. My boss was proud to see my results, and that helped me pass those 10 year working there. Only after those 10 years working, my boss proposed a new position for me in the company. At this point, I had enough money to retire, but I really started to like this job more and more.
