I failed to get a job in my field, therefore I decided to go back to school and get a Canadian diploma in order to secure a job that suits me.

My target is to get straight A's in all subjects. To achieve this goal I study very hard. I can share my experience and give some tips that I learnt throughout my academic pathway. My first advise is to avoid the cursory attitude, and in state of that be thoughtful to all details. Also put in mind that if you put aside homework you will miss the opportunity to check your weaknesses. Start doing it and ask for help when you need it. In classes, try to be active, you can participate by asking questions, and answering teacher's questions. You should take thorough notes to remember some difficult points explained and discussed in class. Another point that is crucial for success in studies, it's the time management.

I take a break and do some funny activities with friends. Not doing homework on time and keep procrastinating. At the exam period I feel confused and don't know from where to start. I found a huge volume of paper to go through, many things to understand in a very short time. I have to work till late at night. I don't get enough sleep and abuse coffee and energetic drinks. After all, the marks are very low and chances for success are very slim.

I started my internship after graduating from the college. It was a good opportunity to learn the ropes. It was useful to get the foot in the door in order to get a job offer by the end of the internship period. I came in handy to show my motivation and my willingness to be part of the team. I was an intern in a pharmacy, I got many business contacts with clients, medical visitors, and pharmaceutical managers. My internship lasted six months, some of the days I was overwhelmed. I didn't get a salary for the services I provided. But it was a good experience, sort of test drive to see if I really like the field or not. I recommend the internship to people who are uncertain about the career they want to have in the future. Interns are very well-trained and may have a job offer at the end of the period without going for an on-the-job-training. I shared my thoughts with my colleagues, and they agreed with me. I gained valuable experience, learned the ropes, and test drove within a short period and cost less.

When I finished my college studies, I decided to volunteer abroad. It was difficult for me to find a job that suits my needs, and I disliked having an invaluable dead-end job. Some of my friends were skeptical about the idea because of safety concerns. I checked in-depth the volunteering opportunities with the Canadian red cross, and I contacted them to express my willingness to volunteer in their campaign in Malawi. The purpose of this campaign is to screen and treat malnourished kids. They offered me a free travel ticket, a premium wage and free accommodation in a resort. I volunteered in a rural clinic, I started working the following day. I was under the supervision of a local nurse. I worked for a bout a month then we moved to another area. There are many advantages for volunteering, such as, helping people in need, learn new languages, taste new food, see new cultures etc. But the most important advantage is to get practical experience that may be useful later. I found two disadvantages, the first one is the fact of not earning any income. The other disadvantage is the lack of communication with the family because there is no internet connection in those rural areas.

I visited an employment website to see vacant position in my field. I found that our local hospital is hiring. The vacant position suites my expectations. The proposed package was very interesting, it gives above average compensation. It offers many other benefits such as pension. Leave of absence was not tolerated unless there is an emergency. The employees are getting their salary at weekly basis. I was lucky to found such opportunity. I was so stressed when I met the HR team. My background helped me to leave a good impression.

I just started a new job in a hospital. I was junior without prior work experience I didn't have any idea about office politics. I was freshly graduated, and I thought the work environment would be friendly. Without knowing, I was undermined by the other colleagues because of the lack of experience. More than often I heard my coworkers gossiping about me. I even got sucked up in conflicts because of the fake issues they were spreading about me. They frequently withheld information to make me look stupid. I finally decided to speak to them. I told them that withholding information, and gossiping are not making a proper work environment. It is hindering the department productivity. They promised to change their behaviour towards me, but they didn't. I finally left the work a couple of months later because of their unsupportive behaviour. It was a very traumatic experience. But now I got a new job with very good coworkers.

At work, I was exposed to a variety of negative issues. It helped me to learn how to deal with these situations.

I flirted with my colleague for some time, but when I felt she was not interested I just stopped. One day, while I was in the restroom I witnessed a sexual harassment. An old man was misbehaving. I immediately took him aside, and tried to deter him to stop this unacceptable behaviour at the workplace. I reported the issue to my supervisor, who informed me that this perpetrator was warned several times without effect, it seems all dreads are not working for him. A radical sanction has to be taken against him to stop this misconduct. After a long disciplinary meeting with the perpetrator, the manager decided to fire him. The HR department has also arranged an awareness campaign to explain the difference between flirtation and sexual harassment. They also compiled a guideline for recipients to report such misconduct. In the future every recipient will be counseled and the confirmed cases of sexual harassment will be sent to court.

I witnessed a scene of corruption In our department. One of my colleagues received a bribe to approve an application for one of our customers. I spoke to him about the incident, but he didn't take it well, and he threw threats against me. I didn't care about his threats and I reported the matter to my supervisor, who told me that this officer was warned several times, but he kept misbehaving. With such behaviour, this officer is seriously affecting the company's assets. This perpetrator thinks that bribing is not a theft but an easy way to increase one's income. He even tried to corrupt me to keep the matter secret.

I worked for more than 20 years in different hospitals and clinics throughout the country. I made many friends, I bought a nice house in Toronto and I saved a good amount of money.

I reached the age of 65, I can't handle the drive of work anymore. I finally got rid of the daily drudgery of working. I'm happy because I'm starting a new lifestyle. I will do what I like the most, travelling. But I realized that my income is dropping because I didn't contribute enough in my pension fund. This decrease of income will make months end very tough. It was my fault because when I was young I didn't think to set aside some money. I thought that pension would be enough for me. I don't even know if I am able to pay off my mortgage.

I worked enough, and I felt that I needed to change my lifestyle. Therefore, I resigned from my job to start a new business. In order to improve my financial situation. I decided to rent two rooms in my house since I don't use them anymore. In this way I increased my income and I got a small business to occupy my free time with. I didn't miss my previous work, but I missed my colleagues with whom I used to spend great moments. They used to visit me, and we spend some time together recalling our memories at work. I decided to save the pension money to use it to mortgage a new house. I like the idea of hiring property. I encouraged my friends to resign and become my associate in this new business.

I worked within an organization for about 10 years after what I felt that I didn't make any accomplishment. I worked for long shifts, and I performed overtime in order to increase my income. I abolished all social activities to be able to work long hours. I realized that I had a lack of sleep, entertainment, and fulfillment. I didn't see it coming, but I alienate of all kinds of relationships. Being alienated made me suffer mentally and emotionally. I didn't get any support from my colleagues with whom I worked for several years. I felt that I was powerless, and it wasn't worthwhile to continue doing this job any longer. I thought that the best way to abolish this alienation is to leave this work and to start a small business. In this way I realized an accomplishment that changed my life. I started my own business, since then I felt motivated and my energy went back. I was so determined to make it successful, and I succeeded.
