My Journey after High school.

After High School.

I just graduated from high school, but I'm still unsure of the career path I want to follow. I will apply for a Pre-university program because this way I will have many career possibilities. There are two program options for me to choose at Ahuntsic College.

Choice 1 : Apply for Natural Science.

Choice 2 : Apply for Social Science.

High School Graduate

Apply for Natural Science.

It's the second week of the semester and my teachers already began piling on the homework. This program is really intense, and I don't have good time management, which makes it really difficult for me to keep up. The course like physics and chemistry are really hard for me to get straight A's this semester. Even If, I do the assignments thoroughly I don't pull of good grades. It's really maddening, and I'm thinking about changing program.

Choice 1 : Stay in Natural Science.

Choice 2 : Change to Social Science.

Laboratory equipment

Apply for Social Science.

It was a good choice because I really like my courses this semester, so I don't want to put aside any assignments. My teachers were piling on the homework, but thankfully I managed to be thoughtful of my time management. I pulled off straight A's in my Psychology class and this motivates me to go after a Social Science career, like Social Work. I like sports and would like to join the soccer team of Ahuntsic College, but I fear It might distract me from my study. What should I choose?

Choice 1 : Join Ahuntsic Soccer team.

Choice 2 : Focus on my studies.

Psychology vocabulary

Stay in Natural Science.

I'm in depression because I'm failing all of my courses. I don't know what to do anymore, I might not be up for school, and I should drop out. Or I might do better in Social Science. I really feel demotivated.

Choice 1 : Drop out of College.

Choice 2 : Change to Social Science.

burnout

Change to Social Science.

This is the best choice! I'm not feeling anymore a lack of fulfillment. I love my Psychology and Sociology courses, I'm sure I'm on the right path this time. I talked to an orientation counselor, and he told me that Social Work is a good career option for me. Should I listen to him? Or should I listen to my parents and become a lawyer?

Choice 1 : Choose a Bachelor in Social Work.

Choice 2 : Choose to go to a Law School.

Lightbulb

Join Ahuntsic Soccer team.

It's a great decision because soccer has been keeping me stress free. I learned to balance school and soccer, and it brings comfort in my life. When I feel stress about school, I relief this tension by playing soccer. It helps me a lot to reduce my anxiety, and I do well at school. I'm almost done with college, I will apply for university next month in Social Work and I'm really excited. Should I go to university here? Or abroad?

Choice 1 : Go to Concordia University in Montreal.

Choice 2 : Go to New York University.

soccer player

Focus on my studies.

I'm always exhausted, and I often stress. I love my program, but I get anxious about school because it's the only thing I do. My friends encourage me to try out soccer again because it could help me relief my anxiety.

Choice 1 : Join Ahuntsic Soccer team.

books

Drop out of College.

The worst decision because now it's hard for me to get a decent job anywhere. I feel like I disappointed my parents by dropping out of college. I guess I'll be working at McDonalds for the rest of my life.

Choice 1 : The End

McDonalds

Go to university for a Bachelor in Social Work.

I just graduated in Social Work at university, and I'm finally going to start working as a Social Worker in a hospital. I'm doing my OJT to help me familiarize myself with my new work environment. The wage of a trainee isn't quite a lot, but it's only temporary. The wages of social workers start escalating after the OJT. My colleague Stacy is a really good trainer because she helped me feel more comfortable and taught me all the ins-and-outs of this job. This job isn't easy because the social workers have to deal with clients that might not be in the right state of mind and cause some drawback. I have a client who needs my help, but he is really mean. That makes me not want to help him. Do I put aside my personal bias?

Choice 1 : Help out the client.

Choice 2 : Do not help the client.

On Job Training

Go to a Law School.

The program is really interesting, but it's just not for me. I'm not in the right place.

Choice 1 : Go back

Judge gavel

Go to Concordia University in Montreal.

It's really practical because I'm near home. My parents help me a lot financially. I finished university, and I got a job offer really near home too. I'm going to work in a really successful company, I'm really excited to start working and for the future opportunities.

Choice 1 : The End.

Concordia university

Go to New York University.

Even though it was financially hard at first moving here, I managed to get a part-time job while studying. I'm in love with New York city! There is so much to do here, I made a ton of friends and the teacher at the university are so understandable with English being my second language. My studies have been great, I just got a job offer at a prestigious school. My life has been great!.

Choice 1 : The End

New York city

Help the client.

It's really important for a Social Worker to put aside any personal bias. My boss thanked me for my professionalism because she knew how hard it is to work with this client. Now I'm thriving at my job, and I don't let my surrounding affect the work I need to do. I feel very successful in my career!

Choice 1 : The End

Happy

Do not help the client.

My boss learned about my wrongdoing. She understands how It can affect me, nevertheless she sent me home. It was not a good choice.

Choice 1 : The End

sad
