Marcelle had heard her grandmother sing songs to keep her going. Melody was as natural as breathing for her. As she walked through the field, the blades of grass tugged at the skin on her legs. She saw the house from afar; she could also see the dirt track which led to the river.

Choice 1 : Marcelle walked towards the house cautiously, her heart beating heavily against the walls of her chest.
