My Career as a Police Officer.

Beginning of college.

At the beginning of college I was a consistent student in almost everything. My homework were done by the same day they were given. I was working out at least 5 times a week, and I had enough time to do all of my chores at home because of Covid. I was on the right track to succeed in my program with perfection. In my second year, things changed because we had to take face-to-face lessons again, which greatly affected my efficiency. I couldn't do my homework as quickly as I used to. I was trying my best to workout but time was running out and my energy at most. I was extremely exhausted, and was fighting every day to get things done on time. One day, while I was working out at the public gym, I crushed my ankle on my running session. I knew this injury would make the rest of my program a bigger challenge, but I kept working hard to achieve my goal until a Thursday afternoon. One of my coworkers in my self-defense class said to me, : " With this type of injury don't think you have any chance to go through the physical tests for Nicolet. " His comment made me doubt all the efforts I made for the last two years to the point it made me think about dropping out of my program. After few days thinking about it, I finally found the force to keep going. I knew I was stronger than what my coworker was thinking, and I was going to make everything in my power to prove him. I knew that I needed to make some changes in my daily schedule because I wouldn't achieve anything while keeping my current routine. I had to make two choices.

Choice 1 : Restraining the time I took to go out with my friends.

Choice 2 : Stopping having only fun in my breaks at school and take this time to study and workout.

Ankle injury

Restraining the time I was taking each week to go out with my friends.

To be sure I had as much time as I needed to concentrate on everything that was related to my school program I had to restrain a little bit the time I was taking to go out with my friends. Even if I know that it's really important to continue to have fun and to see my friends I knew the time I was giving them was too much. To remedy this, I decided to talk about my choice with my friend and explain to them that I needed to keep good grades and start focusing on our program because it's about my future. Now that I have more time for my school stuff, I would replace it by internships that would help me in my future job. For example, I could make some " C.O.B.R.A." with a police station in Montreal. Making internships could prepare me for my tasks in my future job, and I could have a different look on the job either than in my courses. Making this choice would help me a lot and would make me focus on my future job either than going out, and spending my money.

Choice 1 : Beginning of college.

Internship

Stopping having only fun in my breaks at school and take this time to study and workout.

Every day, on my school breaks, I'm just chilling with my friends and not taking this time to advance in my due works or to workout. Each week, I'm complaining that I don't have enough time to do anything while I could in fact do a lot of things if I didn't just had fun with my friends. I wasn't enough focused on my courses, and taking my breaks to advance in my things would be a much better idea than doing nothing. I should focus on finishing my school things, and after I could take time for my friends. By taking these breaks to workout or study, I can get better grades and workout in a time that I still have enough energy instead of waiting late in the evening when I finish by doing nothing because I don't have any motivation left.

Choice 1 : At the end of my three year school program.

Working out

At the end of my three year school program.

I listened to myself and decided to focus more on my classes. I wanted to prove that even with a bad injury, I was still able to enter Nicolet. I was right, and I actually proved my colleague wrong because I passed all the physical tests, and all of my classes almost at perfection. Now I know that I can do better than what others try to tell you. Only you can change your future, if you have any goals you're the only one responsible if you achieve them or not. Even if I took a lot of time for my success I don't regret anything and in the end I still had a lot of time to see my friends every weekend.
