What do I want to do with my career?

I just graduated from high school, and I need to choose in what career I am heading. I need to select one of the fields of study that I am thinking of. All of my interests are focused on jobs that are on the axis of helping people. My choice of career is very important since it will affect my future and my entourage. My two choices are, become a police officer or become a paramedic. It is a complicated and very important choice to make.

Becoming a paramedic is a choice that really suits me since I would like to help people and save lives in order to have significant impact in the lives of others.

Choice 1 : Go to College Ahuntsic.

Choice 2 : Go to college John Abbott.

I chose Ahuntsic College because it is closer to my house compared to John Abbott College. In addition, I have heard great things about how things are taught. I am very happy that I made this choice of college.

I decided to go to the college that's a little far from my house because I have a friend who goes there. I felt more comfortable starting in a new school with someone that I already know and love. I am very happy about it.

I decided not to start the procedures that would have lead me to a career as a paramedic since I felt that I needed more adrenaline in my work tasks. Choosing my second choice of career would allow me to fill the gap which I find in the work of paramedic. My choice is therefore made, and I prefer to register in the Police Technology program.

My Career as a Police Officer.

I want to become a police officer because it pushes me to train and stay in a good physical shape, witch suits me completely since I am not able to sit still for a long time. I am always on the move and would not see me doing paper work for the rest of my life. In my life, I look forward for adrenaline and the job of a police officer is full of strong emotions. Plus, equality and justice are two aspects really important to embrace in my opinion. This job requires a lot of discipline and ambition for change in order to move forward and create a positive impact in our daily bases. Finally, it is my dream job! I now have to choose where do I want to perceive my dream.

Choice 2 : Go to Maisonneuve College.

I officially chose to study in the Police Technology program at Ahuntsic College because it is recognized to be one of the best colleges which trains the best police officers in Quebec. In addition, even with the program which is very limited, I still managed to get in the program due to my good grades. The physical tests are very difficult, especially at this college, and I passed them. I am very proud of it, and I cannot wait to continue my studies within this program which suits me perfectly.

Choice 2 : Do my Police Technology in 4 years.

Go to Maisonneuve College.

After having done my research on the various colleges which offers the Police Technology program, I made my choice. My choice was not the Maisonneuve College. The Maisonneuve College is not the closest one to my house and is less well-recognized than the Ahuntsic College. I am still convinced that I would have been well-trained there. My decision is then made.

Choice 1 : Go to Ahuntsic College.

Do my Police Technology in 3 years.

I chose to do my Police Technology in 3 years since I feel capable of having a lot of classes at the same time and succeeding. I am aware that it will be intense, but I am ready to invest myself in my studies to have the job of my dreams.

Do my Police Technology in 4 years.

I decided to do my Police Technology in 4 years since I find that the classes require an intensity and a large part of my time. I prefer to focus on the results of my grades instead of having too much homework and exams to do at the same time.

I finally finished my studies in the Police Technology program at Ahuntsic College! I am really proud of myself. Now is the time for me to choose where I want to work so that I can apply to the place in question. I must of course go to Nicolet: the police school before entering a police force and starting to work.

Choice 1 : SPVM.

Choice 2 : Laval Police.

I chose to work for the SPVM. I chose the city of Montreal because they advocate cultural diversity while seeking to reduce discrimination. As a Lebanese woman I agree with this police service and would like to try to make a difference.

Choice 1 : Becoming a patrol officer.

Laval Police.

I chose the Laval police service because they offer a better salary than the city of Montreal. In addition, Laval is closer to my home and my family, my travels are more efficient. I know the places and the surroundings well since I have lived there all my life.

I am finally on patrol officer as I wanted from the beginning. I can finally make interventions with people and help the population, so I can save lives. I'm grateful for that and wouldn't trade my job for anything in the world.
