I’m currently studying Social Sciences, specifically in the field of psychology at Ahuntsic College for two years now. I’m in the last year of my program, and I’m still not sure about my career path. I have realized that helping people was always a big part of me, I just don’t know if I want to provide them emergency medical care by becoming a paramedic or to work as a criminologist in the law enforcement investigating why people commit crimes.
Choice 1 : Become a Criminologist.
Choice 2 : Become a Paramedic.

I have chosen to work as a Criminologist to solve crimes and understand societal impacts. I really worked hard to get where I am right now. I managed to pull off three years of college, and I have now finished my Bachelor’s degree in Criminology at the University of Montreal. Now that I have my diploma, I don’t know in what specialties I will continue my career path.
Choice 1 : Forensics.
Choice 2 : Criminal Investigation.
I have chosen to be a Paramedic and help people by providing them Pre-hospital Emergency Care. I have pulled off my three years of my technical program at Ahuntsic College like a pro, and I’m now ready to be a First Responder. Now that I have my diploma, I have a choice to make about my future in the life of a Paramedic. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Work at Health Emergencies.
Choice 2 : Go to The University of Montreal in Advanced Paramedical Training.
I’m happy to be working at the public emergency medical service of the islands of Laval and Montreal. Today is my first day, I finally got to drive an ambulance and provide emergency medical assistance. I have a lot of on-the-job-training to do, but I’m optimistic because I already learned the ropes in my technical classes. My partner and I are getting along well, and he decided to let me choose between driving the ambulance or being the passenger. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Be the passenger.
Choice 2 : Drive the ambulance.
I have chosen to go to The University of Montreal to have my diploma in Advanced Paramedical Training. Advanced Paramedic offer to practice a higher level of medical skills whether that's when you are responding to incidents’ calls or to support and help the Paramedic clinicians. I’m very thrilled to learn more techniques that will certainly be useful when I restart working. The courses that I have at University are very interesting, sometimes they can be a little maddening, but I already knew that it would be difficult at times. I made a lot of new friends that help me a lot when times are difficult. To celebrate our final year in the program, my friends and I wanted to go to a bar tomorrow, but we also have to study for an exam. Do I follow them, or am I staying home studying?
Choice 1 : Go to the bar.
Choice 2 : Study for the exam.
I have chosen Forensics, I’m really excited to get started. Today is my first day as a trainee, my partner has given me all the reports to filled out, it’s a little bit boring, but I am just getting started in this job, so it’s fined I guess. I feel like he’s giving me a hard time, I filled out reports, and I brought evidence to the lab all day instead of doing some autopsies or respond to a crime scene call. Should I tell my feeling about it, or I tell nothing?
Choice 1 : Tell my feeling.
Choice 2 : Tell nothing and go through the day.
I’m now specializing in criminal investigation, I’ve been working with the Montreal Police for 2 years now, and I’m one of the best criminal investigators of the town. My boss and I are getting along well, but I never received a raise, and I don’t want to complain to him and getting sucked up in a hostile environment. Maybe I’m being to nervous about it, and more often than not his very comprehensive about things. Should I tell him how I feel about my salary or just let it passed?
Choice 1 : Tell my boss about an augmentation.
Choice 2 : Tell nothing and let it passed.
I have chosen to drive the ambulance, I’m a little nervous. We have an incoming 911 call about a car crash on the highway 40 west, I have to start the sirens and drive fast trough the traffic. I finally got through the traffic, and we have arrived at the accident scene. A lady in her thirty is badly injured, my partner and I have to drive her at the closest hospital. We have to choose between Maisonneuve-Rosemont or Sacre-Coeur, where do we go?
Choice 1 : Maisonneuve-Rosemont.
Choice 2 : Sacre-Coeur.
I have chosen to be the passenger, it’s a pretty calm day today and my partner and I decided to talk about our retirement and our future plans as a retiree. My partner said that he already set aside some money every two weeks for when he retires and that he planed to travel with his fiance around the world. I told him that I wasn’t sure about what to do when I retired, maybe I will start teaching the Technical in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care and pay the rest of my mortgage house with this salary, or I can really take a break of the drudgery Paramedical work and travel a lot. I really like the idea of both.
Choice 1 : Start teaching the Technical in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care.
Choice 2 : Travel.
I have chosen to go to the bar with my friends. I really regret my choice, my friends and I were really drunk, we had to call a taxi and go home sooner than we expected. I took care of my friend Caroline all night because she was sick because of all the alcohol that she took. We had a little 2 hours sleep, and we all woken up to get ready for our exam and just before we were about to go, we received a MIO that is saying that the course has been canceled because the teacher has to go to the hospital. We were definitely lucky this time, and we swear to never go out before an exam!

I have decided to tell my boss my feeling about all the paper work I’ve been doing and how much I wanted to work on a crime scene. He was glad that I told him how I feel and thanked me for letting him know. Since we are having no calls, he can’t really bring me to a crime scene, so he decided to create a fake crime scene in our lab to help me practice. I collected all the false evidence and took photo of it, I also made a false ADN test to bring to the lab. My boss and I really had a great day, and I’m now ready to have a real call on a crime scene!

Since I’m a little shy I have chosen to just get through the day and continue my hard work on the paperwork. At the end of the day my boss told me how great I were today and invite me go to get some coffee. After exchanging a bit about ourselves, I decided to tell him that I was really excited to start working on a crime scene, and that I can do all the dirty work after the end of our shifts to work extra hours to help pay my bills. He was really happy that I’m a hardworking person, and told me it was not necessary to work extra shifts and that with communication we surely will always manage things. I’m glad that my boss is attentive to his employee.
