University programs choice.

I'm graduating from college in a few months and it's time to enroll in my university program for next fall. I am a pure and applied science's student, and I am strongly hesitating between three career choices... I am very hesitant and don't know what to choose. I could use some help!

Choice 1 : Civil engineering.

Civil engineering.

I am taken in civil engineering! Excellent choice that I do not regret. In order to graduate, I have to pass my courses in the university program, but also pass internships! In fact, I must have successfully completed 2 internships in my future job to graduate. I find this very interesting because it allows us to get used to it. My two internships...

Aerospace engineering.

Finally! I am accepted at the Polytechnic of Montreal to acquire a bachelor degree in aerospace engineering! After 4 years of study, I succeed in obtaining my diploma for this exciting profession. This sector is in high demand and I got very good grades. I don't think I would have a hard time finding my first job.

Bachelor's degree in physics.

I was accepted as a physics student at the University of Montreal. Exciting subjects of study await me: relativity, quantum mechanics or thermodynamics! Nevertheless, I will have to choose what to do after my bachelor's degree, and this is not an easy thing to go considering the many opportunities that are offered to me!

My two internships went well!

During my two internships, I managed to integrate easily into the team I was working with. The people who supervised me were very pedagogical and patient with me, my colleagues were pleasant and I had a very efficient work rhythm. I found these two internships beneficial for the rest of my career. Now that I'm a fresh graduate, I need to find a job in my field!

If only it weren't for these courses! I questioned my desire to work in civil engineering. Indeed, I found the internships very painful, especially because of the enormous workload and the lack of patience of my supervisors. They were not very responsive when I needed help. I don't know if I should go straight into this profession...

Choice 2 : Security guard.

Job Interview.

Today, I am having my first job interview for an aerospace company. Of course, I'm wearing my best clothes, not to mention my personal touch (a traditional Basque beret). The interview went well, I was a little nervous at first, but the employer made me feel confident and even showed me around the workplace. I think we get along well and I hope to be taken because there is a lot of competition for this position.

Choice 1 : Employed.

Choice 2 : Not employed.

Travelling.

After graduating, I decided to apply for a job abroad. Indeed, my wife wants to change country to raise our children in a better cultural context. Fortunately, my profession is open to international work and I have many potential opportunities.

Choice 1 : Algeria.

Choice 2 : Indonesia.

Astrophysicist.

I managed to get my bachelor's degree and here I am studying for a master in astrophysics! This course seems very hard, but after all the science I've ingested, I think I can last 2 more years in this field. Anyway, everything is easy when we are passionate!

Choice 1 : A hard program.

Reorientation.

After a year, I finally decided to change my field of study. I was not satisfied with the courses offered and changed my interests because of my family situation. I need to find something that I enjoy and that will provide financial security for my family. I'm not sure if I should go into a vocational program or another university programs...

This field is full of jobs !

Having finished my studies, I was directly hired by the company that had taken me on for the internship. I am very satisfied with my salary and especially very surprised by the ease of finding a job in this sector!

Unfortunately, the company that took me on as an intern cannot hire me because there is a national crisis. Jobs are scarce in my sector.

Doctorate.

Even though my internships didn't go well, I didn't give up, and I even decided to get a doctorate in Addition to my bachelor's degree without a master's degree because it is possible in my educational path. This way, I would have more opportunities in the working world with a very full CV.

After my bad university experience and despite my degree, I am still reluctant to work in this sector. I am a security guard, as I have always been on the side of my studies, but I fear that it is a dead-end job.

I had to wait for a week before receiving a call from my future employer to tell me that I was hired for the position I was applying for. I am very happy and proud of myself. I have to tell my family the good news soon!

After a few weeks of waiting, I was unfortunately not taken for the job I was applying for. I am totally upset by this news because I had staked everything on this job. I am still hopeful because this is not a hopeless situation.
