Oh my God! In a couple of months, I will have a master’s degree in psychology. For as long as I can remember, I have always been a straight A's student with a good drive of work. Nonetheless, during the last three years, I had the ultimate student experience: time management troubles, dead-end jobs, late nights of study, endless hours of work, harsh deadlines to meet, lazy teammates to tolerate, annoying teachers to please… However, presently, I am not excited. Quite the contrary! I am anxious, hesitant, and stressed. Why? Well, in less than 24 hours, I have to select the city where I want to do my final internship to learn the ropes about practicing psychology. Help me!
Choice 1 : Do an internship in Compton (California), the United States of America.
Choice 2 : Do an internship in Delhi, India.
Choice 3 : Do an internship in Montreal (Quebec), Canada.
Oh dear! Guess what? I chose to do an internship in Compton because I wanted to give myself a challenge. To be honest, I am excited, but mostly overwhelmed. During the morning, I met Christopher, my first client. Christopher is a 28-year-old single father. He suffers from a bipolar disorder. He decided to meet with a psychologist with the purpose of changing his behaviour in order to give a better life to Koko, his five-year-old daughter. When Christopher experiences episodes, he tends to neglect Koko completely. He does not care to wash her, to feed her, or even to put her to bed. In addition, more often than not, he stays out all night without a regret or a remorse. Christopher does not take his responsibility seriously. Hence, I want to ameliorate Christopher's life, but mostly Koko’s life. Help me!
Choice 1 : Kidnap Koko.
Choice 2 : File a child abuse complaint against Christopher to the police.
Choice 3 : Offer support, advice, and guidance to Christopher.
I hired people to kidnap Koko. Currently, she is taking a nap on my bed in my apartment. I genuinely believe I can give her a better life. However, I have no idea what should be my next step. Help me!
Choice 1 : Return to Montreal with Koko.
Choice 2 : Continue my internship normally with Koko.
Choice 3 : Let Koko choose who she wants to live with.
I decided to leave Compton to return to Montreal. However, at the airport, I did not have the passport of Koko. With a quick background check, the police learned about the kidnapping of Koko. Sadly, despite my good intentions, I was arrested.
Choice 1 : Oh, no! I messed up... Let's start again!
I hired people to kidnap Koko. I had no worries because I did not have an appointment with Christopher for the next four weeks. However, despite my good intentions, after three days of kidnapping, I was arrested.
Choice 1 : Oh, no! I messed up... Let's start again!
Koko loves Christopher. She wants to live with him forever. So, I apologized to Christopher for my senseless actions. He accepted my apology and he still wants me as his psychologist. I intend to do my best to offer him advice, counseling, and guidance to better his situation.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right path... Still, let's start again!
I filed a child abuse complaint against Christopher to the police. Christopher is in prison. Koko is in the hands of a youth protection organization. I have a sense of fulfillment.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right path... Still, let's start again!
I decided to help Christopher because, deep down, I know he intends to become a better father. In our last session, I gave him advice. I also requested him to take an appointment with a psychiatrist. Over the nest few months, I want to work with Christopher with the hope of bettering his situation as well as his daughter's situation.

Back to the roots! I chose to do an internship in Delhi because I wanted to see the world through the eyes of someone outside of the western world. I had the chance to sit down with Nia, my first client. Nia is a 21-year-old woman. A month ago, she was raped by two classmates. She refuses to file a sexual harassment and rape complaint to the police, but she desperately needs help to overcome the trauma. Help me!
Choice 1 : Offer support, advice, and guidance to Nia.
Choice 2 : File a sexual harassment and rape complaint to the police against Nia’s decision.
Choice 3 : Reject Nia as a client.
In India, despite the fact that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of rapes per day, the subject of rape is a very big taboo. It took me a lot of time and effort to find a program to help girls overcome the trauma of being raped. I finally found one. Nia agreed to join the program. In our next sessions, she will give me news about her progression and her recovery. I look forward to seeing her.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right path... Still, let's start again!
In my free time, I spoke to the police about the rape story of Nia. However, according to the law, the police cannot start an investigation unless the victim comes forward. What should I do? Help me!
Choice 1 : Convince Nia to file a complaint.
Choice 2 : Respect Nia's choice to not file a complaint.
I repeatedly tried to convince Nia to file a complaint. However, it did not go as planned. She lost complete trust in me and, presently, I am no longer Nia’s social worker. I feel ashamed.
Choice 1 : Oh, no! I messed up... Let's start again!
I feel ashamed that I tried to file a complaint to the police against Nia's will. From now on, I want to offer her advice and support to overcome the trauma of sexual harassment and rape. I deeply hope she finds her happiness again.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right track... Still, let's start again!
After much thought, I decided to reject Nia as a client. As a woman, I strongly believe that she should file a complaint against her rapists. If not, she contributes to the endangerment of the lives of other girls. Personally, I do not want to cooperate with someone who refuses to help others.

Youppi! I decided to stay home, close to my loved ones. Today, I met my first client, a 27-year-old man named Shane. He is a successful real estate agent, but he suffers from severe eating disorders. He has a low self-esteem because he tends to constantly compare himself to others, especially with regard to the body. Hence, he has a bad relationship with food. Throughout our session, I developed a love for Shane, a love that should definitely not be present in a professional relationship. Trust me, I did not do it on purpose. His appearance, his personality, and his story left me no choice. I do not know what I should do, but I sincerely want to improve Shane's life. Help me!
Choice 1 : Express my love to Shane.
Choice 2 : Reject Shane as a client.
Choice 3 : Ignore my emotions in order to help Shane by giving him support, advice, and guidance.
I am so excited about tomorrow morning. Shane thinks we have an appointment. However, it is a date. I am still hesitant about what we should do. Help me!
Choice 1 : Assist to a basketball match together.
Choice 2 : Get breakfast together.
Choice 3 : Help him mea lprep (he loves to meal prep!).
After spending more time with him, I think Shane and I are better in a professional relationship. When he asked me why I brought him to a basketball match, I told him that I simply wanted to have a better insight in his life in order to help him. God, please forgive me for lying...
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right track... Still, let's start again!
During breakfast, I told Shane the three magical words “I love you.” Sadly, the feelings are not reciprocal. Shane felt extremely awkward and no longer wants to see me. Ugh...
Choice 1 : Oh, no! I messed up... Let's start again!
Shane and I had fun preparing his future meals. According to him, preparing your meals in advance is invaluable. With a lot of effort, I restrained myself to express my love. I want to give more time to our relationship.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right track... Still, let's start again!
I decided to reject Shane as a client because I do not what to mix up my professional life with my personal life, especially in an internship to become a psychologist. I believe that I took the best decision possible. Still, I am a little hurt, but it is okay.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right track... Still, let's start again!
In my sessions with Shane, I completely ignore my emotions. I do my best to be present for him as his psychologist by giving him support, advice, and guidance. Slowly but surely, he is overcoming his eating disorder. I am proud of his progress.
Choice 1 : I think that I am on the right track... Still, let's start again!
The End.
