Nursing

At the very beginning.

Last year, I was at a turning point in my life. I had a dead-end job and I wanted to do something invaluable that counts and have a good job with great advantages. When I quit my job, I had an extraordinary compensation package. One of the reasons I had considered changing carrier and go back on the school's benches is that the drive of work was no longer there. So, I started to reconsider going into Nursing to CEGEP.

Choice 1 : Going to Bois de Boulogne.

Choice 2 : Stay in my dead-end job.

Nurse

Going to Bois de Boulogne.

I am finally accepted to Bois de Boulogne. I just received my letter of acceptance. I am so happy. Suddenly, a terrible feeling of fear is overwhelming my body. Is this what I have to do? Will I be able to succeed and have good grades. My mind is going so fast. A million worries pop up in my head. How will I be able to have enough money if I do not work during the semesters?

Choice 1 : I choose to remove a course and work meanwhile studying.

Choice 2 : I choose to follow the suggested courses offered by the program and not work.

Bois de Boulogne Cegep

Stay in my dead-end job.

Because I chose to stay I was a witness of sexual harassment between my boss and a colleague. What would I do? I am so afraid to lose my job if I say something to the big boss. Maybe he won't believe me and he will think that I am a liar.

Choice 1 : Choose to denounce sexual harassment.

Choice 2 : Decide to quit my job.

Dead-end job

Choose to denounce sexual harassment.

It's terrific the big boss is not receiving the complaint about sexual harassment. He said that I have lied because I did not like my manager.

Choice 1 : I will go complain to the police.

Choice 2 : I will choose not to go further.

Denounce

I will go complain to the police.

Finally, I decided to go see the police and do a formal complaint. I feel like my burden has been taken off my shoulders. I feel so light. I felt terrible for what I saw. I felt morally responsible for the situation that I was witness to see. I think that every situation in life have a purpose to happen.

Choice 1 : Try again

Police

I will choose not to go further.

I felt guilty it's like someone had put me a hand on my mouth. My big boss told me that I should quit my job he said that if he were me, he would quit the job. I have realized that it is manipulation. He even said that I had better be quiet and not say a word.

Choice 1 : Try again

Guilty

I choose to remove a course and work meanwhile studying.

Here I am starting my courses. Now that I have started to work part-time, I realize how much it is too much for me. I cry every day and I don't have any energy to study in the evening. How I will get through the semester without falling apart and pass my courses. My mom told me that I should ask for help. I am getting sucked up in a vicious circle. My boss asks me to do overtime. What should I do?

Choice 1 : I decide to consult a psychotherapist.

Choice 2 : I decide not to consult a psychotherapist.

Desperate

I decide to consult a psychotherapist.

Finally, the psychotherapist helps me to see clearly in my mind. It is worthwhile to invest in my mental health. I decide to reduce my hours at work. Otherwise, my income will be less interesting and I won't be able to set aside a lot of money but it is better for me this way. The most important thing is that I archive the most precious fulfillment: have good grades and stay healthy.

Choice 1 : Try again

Psychoterapist

I decide not to consult a psychotherapist.

I finally abandoned courses during my semester. I am on the edge of the precipice. More often than not, I am not able to be a mom in the evening time I am so discouraged that I had stopped my OJT. I have a thoughtful idea about what to do next in my life.

Choice 1 : Try again

Discourage

I choose to follow the suggested courses offered by the program and not work.

Now that I started my regular Nursing Program, I can decide to choose my internship. I have a maddening situation and I really don't know what to do. Will I choose to be a trainee at Ste-Justine Hospital or Jewish Hospital? It's hard to choose because because Jewish gives a wage for the internship and not Ste-Justine. On the other hand, the great drawback for Jewish is where the hospital is located. There is no parking around. Ste-Justine is the one I want to work for since I am a teenager but I won't have a wage for the internship.

Choice 1 : Decide to go to Ste-Justine.

Choice 2 : Decide to go to Jewish Hospital.

Money

Decide to go to Ste-Justine.

I am so happy to be a trainee at Ste-Justine Hospital. Now that I have a foot in the door, it will be easy to have a job here. I start to learn the ropes as an intern. This internship is a good test drive to allow students to know if nursing is good for them or not. On the other hand, I have witnessed a few incidents which made me aware of the risks of employment. I saw a nurse give insulin to the wrong patient. The young child began to convulse he was in severe hypoglycemia. Also, I saw my college intern who forgot to put the side rail on the young patient's bed. She felt and broke her leg. She had a severe fracture. She gave an injection of morphine to release the pain. Although some accidents happened, for me it has been a good experience. HR propose me two options.

Choice 1 : Accept the position as a perinatal nurse.

Choice 2 : Accept the position as a diabete clinic nurse.

Ste-Justine

Decide to go to Jewish Hospital.

I regret my choice. It is really not interesting this internship. The only advantage is the money I have with this internship. I will set aside money for my study.

Choice 1 : Try again

Jewish Hospital

Decide to quit my job.

Now that I had chosen not to denounce and that I have no longer a job. I am in a very difficult situation. I think about the fact that I want to go back to school but now that I have no more money, I really don't know what to do. My husband left me alone with the four kids. I need to find a solution to get enough money, so I could go to school next semester.

Choice 1 : I choose to go back to school.

Choice 2 : I choose to go nothing.

Way

I choose to go back to school.

I finally found a new job it was a vacant job at a big company. I have enough money set aside to go back to school. A dream come true. Life is teaching us that time is no important but timing is.

Choice 1 : Try again

school

I choose to go nothing.

I am sicking down everything thing is falling apart in my life, in my body, in my family. Where can I go? What should I do? What could I do? I hope the light will come at the end of the tunnel.

Accept the position as a diabete clinic nurse.

Because my son is diabetic it is easy to work in this department. I feel more emphatic toward parents.

Accept the position as a perinatal nurse.

It is wonderful to work in this specialization. I am really honored to work in this department. I hope that I will have a permanent job in this department.
