After a two years DEC without mention in Visual Arts, it's time to decide where I'm doing next. I always wanted to be a massage therapist but I wanted to have a DEC just in case. I asked myself if I want to work for someone or for myself. If I am a self-employed, I can work from home or open my business partner. The other option is that I can be an employee.

Choice 1 : Be an employee.

Choice 2 : Work from home.

Choice 3 : Open a business partner.

Unfortunately, we have to learn how to manage with perpetrators of sexual harassment in our massage classes, but when it happened to me, at my house, I was choked on the moment. The client's filtration crossed the line and become misconduct when he touched my thigh. Before that action, he clearly demonstrated a playful sexual attraction to me by telling me improper compliments: you have such a good touch, your hands are so soft, you have beautiful calm voice, what is your perfume; it smells so good….

Choice 1 : Denounce.

Choice 2 : Continue to work with that on my conscience.

Last summer, I was a trainee at Spa Finlandais. An old co-worker was supposed to show me the ins-and-outs in a three months OJT but it lasts 3 weeks… My co-worker told me that I did a super job and the others co-worker were very nice with me. I had a wage and everything was fine. After three weeks, my boss told me that I was fired because my old co-worker told her that she had biased against me. She said that I was not fast enough. I was shocked because no one tells me that especially that I was there for three weeks. I conclude that this colleague hindered my ability to do the job by withholding information.

Choice 1 : Cry the rest of my life.

Choice 2 : Get up and being a self-employed.

Last summer, I was an intern at PhysioExtra. I liked being able to test drive the job because it really helps me to be familiar with the environment as a massage therapist. It did not take me long to learn the ropes because I was engaged to welcome the clients and have their health check completed. This internship comes in handy later by giving me a foot in the door, because even if the job was easy, I understood how the workplace works and if I feel good with the team.

I bought a small building divided into 4 cabins because we were four business partners. It goes not very well… The second week that I was here, I saw someone who commits a theft. He discreetly took a bunch of massage oils in our common storage. I was on point to call the police, but he saw me. He came to me to give me a bribe in exchange that I told anything about his theft. When I said no, He started give me threats….

Choice 1 : Said nothing and wait for he commits another theft.

Choice 2 : Disassociated myself and check for another partner.

Open a business partner with a variety of healthcare workers.

Not everybody is the same! The other option describes the best type of life as a massage therapist for me...

Have a trustful, respectful and cooperate relationship with other worker partners.

It is the best type of life for me! It needs respectful and cooperate relationship with other to be capable of manage a little business together, but it remains that business partner have certain independence for their proper domain and money. It is a long term life plan, so It needs to be serious. On the another hand, It creates strong friendship because it is like a little family.
