Decide your path.

University program.

You just finished your CEGEP years in Health Science at the College de Maisonneuve. You applied and got accepted to two programs at McGill University. You are hesitating between biology and psychology. You are really passionate about molecules, living organisms, and cells, but you are also a good listener and a really caring person.

Choice 1 : Psychology.

Choice 2 : Biology.

McGill University

Psychology.

You realized that you didn’t like to analyze people’s behavior and that you didn’t have the emotional intelligence to treat people’s mental illnesses. After one semester, you couldn’t do it anymore, so you dropped out.

Choice 1 : Try again.

Psychology

Biology.

You are now in your Biology program, and you love it. Your parents decided to do a little supper with friends and family to celebrate your first semester at university. However, on the same day, you have your program initiation where you can meet your new classmates and people from your program. You have to choose between going to your initiation or going to your celebration supper.

Choice 1 : Initiation.

Choice 2 : Supper.

Biology students

Initiation.

In the beginning, you were a little skeptical, but you had fun at your initiation. You also became really close with the people you met there. You created a study group with those classmates, so you all helped each other with studying. At the end of your last semester, you all decided to do an internship. You weren’t sure where you should go since the university offered an internship in many places. You were hesitating between a production laboratory, the Meakins-Christie Laboratories, or a research laboratory, the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM).

Choice 1 : Production laboratory.

Choice 2 : Research laboratory.

Initiation

Supper.

It was a really great night. You were happy to spend time with your family and friends. You had the opportunity to meet your classmates at school, so you didn’t regret going to your celebration supper. You’ve always been a straight A’s student and you wanted to keep it that way so when your part-time job started to influence your grades you weren’t really happy. You didn’t know what to do because you needed the money to help you pay for the university. However, because of the job you weren't pulling off good grades. You felt overwhelmed studying and working at the same time. You had to choose between keeping the job or concentrate on studying.

Choice 1 : Keeping the job.

Choice 2 : Concentrate on studying.

Supper

Production laboratory.

You really hated it there. You did all the paperwork that no one wanted to do, and you didn’t learn anything new. You also reported your boss's misconduct because he was threatening a colleague that didn’t speak up. It was a dead-end job and a really bad experience. After that internship, you started to hate biology so you started to think that you could change programs but you weren’t sure.

Choice 1 : Stay in biology.

Choice 2 : Change program.

Production lab

Research laboratory.

You loved that internship. You discovered the specialty that you are really interested in Molecular and Cellular biology. It gave her purpose. You even did some overtime work in order to gain more experience. The internship supervisor really liked your background and your efforts in that laboratory, that he wanted to hire you after you graduated. You weren’t sure if you wanted to accept the offer because you wanted to work outside of Montreal. You had two choices:

Choice 1 : Continue in the IRCM.

Choice 2 : Look for laboratories outside of Montreal.

Research lab

Keeping the job.

Keeping the job made you realize that you lack of time management, so it helped you be more organized to keep up with the course. It could be really overwhelming sometimes but you pulled off some good grades and succeeded to finish your program.

Choice 1 : Try again.

A+

Concentrate on studying.

You didn’t manage to finish your program because the money you put aside wasn’t enough for all school fees. You had to stop studying for a year to save some money. Your friends were happy that you finally had time for them and that you didn’t spend all of your time studying anymore. Your boyfriend was also happy for you because he didn't see you as often as before university. However, you were working a full-time job since you weren’t studying anymore so you had to choose to spend more time with your boyfriend or to spend more time with your friends.

Choice 1 : Spend more time with your friends.

Choice 2 : Spend more time with your boyfriend.

Broke

Stay in biology.

You were happy you stayed because it was only a bad experience that you had. After that, you did many other internships that you adored. You are now graduated and happy with your decision.

Choice 1 : Try again.

Happy

Change program.

You regretted that decision the moment you changed the program. You hated the other program, and you realized that changing it didn't bring you any advantages. You lost money and your parents didn't approve of your decision.

Choice 1 : Try again.

Regret

Continue in the IRCM.

You accepted the offer, and it was the best decision of your life. You love it so much and now you’re the one who supervises new interns and new employees.

Choice 1 : Try again.

IRCM

Look for laboratories outside of Montreal.

You lost the opportunity of your life. You didn’t find any job outside of Montreal and now you’re unemployed.

Choice 1 : Try again.

unemployed

Spend more time with your friends.

You chose to spend more time with your friends, but your boyfriend didn’t like it. He broke up with you. You weren’t even that sad because you knew he wasn’t the one for you. After your breakup, your friends decided to go out and have fun….

Choice 1 : Try again.

Friends

Spend more time with your boyfriend.

After spending all of your free time with your boyfriend, you had a little surprise and you found out that you were pregnant. He told you that he would pay for all that you needed. You then became a housewife.
