Now is my time to shine. About 5 mounts ago I received my acceptance letter in what I assumed was the best college in Montreal for my program. I got accepted in McGill, and I am starting a bachelor of commerce with a concentration in finance. Now that I got in, I need to make it past my first day in college which is today. To be honest, I am quite lost and nervous. Obviously, I want to start college on the right foot and make a good first impression. I live about 30 minutes by metro from McGill and I don't know how I'm going to get there yet. I have three transport choices. Either I take the safest choice and I ask my parents to give me a lift or I can go there by myself by car. I could also go there by metro.
Choice 1 : My parents give me a ride.
Choice 2 : Take my car.
Choice 3 : Taking the metro.

I think that taking my parent’s lift was the worst idea ever. When they dropped me of this morning, as soon as I got out the car, my parents treated me like I just started high school. My mom wanted to give me a bunch of kisses and my dad honked when they left. Everybody was watching me and I looked like a fool. Nobody’s parents were there and I felt like a child. People were looking at me weird in the hallways. I wish I could start over.
Choice 1 : Start over
This was the worst idea. I didn’t think about where I would park and I drove in circles for about thirty minutes. When I finally found a place to park, it cost me $20. I will never do this again. My teacher was already so disappointed in me because I was late for my first class. I made the worst first impression and I wish I could start over.
Choice 1 : Start over
Taking the metro to go to school for the first time was the best idea I had. Even though I never really used the metro, it was pretty straightforward. Also, my weird parents weren't there to make a fool of me. It’s now been 3 weeks since I started and I’m struggling more than I thought. In the second week, I had a surprise assignment on the previous lesson because the teacher wanted to make sure we were listening. The lesson a simple introduction on how to do a budget and I almost failed it. So much for a good first impression. Forget straight A’s. With English being my second language, I have trouble understanding all the information given in class. Teachers are using a lot of technical terms like assignment credit, capitalized interest and expenditure, but even if I have some knowledge in Accounting, I don’t understand half of the terms they use. On another note, I just started to make friends, but I have an evaluation next week. I’ll need to analyse Apple’s most recent financial statement. The only thing is that yesterday Franc invited me to what could be the biggest party of my life and it’s tonight. I have three choice. Either I accept Ethan's invitation to go study with his geek friends, or I can go to the party. I could also go to study alone at home. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Join the geek squad.
Choice 2 : The biggest party of my life.
Choice 3 : Study by myself.
I think I made the right choice. I officially joined the geek squad and passed my exam. Last week was a fun one, I never studied with others before, and I didn’t know that it made it so fun. In fact, I even met a girl in the library. She also was part of the geek squad. We talked a bit, and I was rather surprised to see such a pretty girl be so passionate about the stock market as I am. Indeed, I have invested in stocks since I was 17 and it was really nice to be able to talk about one of my passions with someone else. Anyway, we studied together all night, and she even invited me to join her group where she competes against other colleges. The goal of the competition is to run a business through a simulation while trying to generate as much profit as possible. She said that I have until tomorrow to think about it. Should I do it?
Choice 1 : Go for it and accept the invitation
Choice 2 : Refuse to join the competition squad and focus on school.
Last weekend was a crazy one. I went to Frank’s house and it was the biggest one I’ve ever seen. That night was the craziest one I’ve ever had. There was an open bar and people couldn’t stop dancing. The best moment was when I talked to Claire. Claire is the cool girl of my business faculty. We talked, danced and flirted for hours but at 2 a.m. she had to go. We haven't spoken since, but about 20 minutes ago she texted me. She asked me if I wanted to go to the park later today with her and her friends later. Should I say yes even if I have several things to do tonight or should I say no?
Choice 1 : Say ''yes''
Choice 2 : Say ''no''
Nobody wants to study alone. I should have tried to make friends by taking the two most social options.
Choice 1 : Start again
We are currently at the end of the semester and it’s now been three mounts since I started to compete. We completed the simulation yesterday, and we just received the results. We are thrilled because we won the title. We beat all the business schools in Quebec, and we finished second behind the University of Toronto if we count all the business schools in Ontario. During all the competitions, I met a lot of students from several colleges including two with whom I am now friends with. One of them studies at Polytechnic Montreal, and she participated in an engendering competition. Also, during this long competition process, I made a friend who studies at the University of Toronto. He is currently studying to become a computer engineer. At first, he approached me because he wanted me to be a partner to start his new business, but my friend from Polytechnic Montreal had also told me about starting a business. I can’t entertain both options. If I want to be part of my friend from Toronto’s start-up, I will have to move there. I need to decide between Montreal and Toronto.
Choice 1 : Move to Toronto.
Choice 2 : Start a company in Montreal with your friend from Polytechnic of Montreal.
It's been two weeks since my now girlfriend's competition started. I’m starting to have regrets about the fact that I didn't participate in the competition with her. Fortunately, a player decided to give his place up two days ago. On the other hand, refusing the invitation allowed me to focus more on my academic success, and I am starting to have excellent grades. Last week I even impressed one of my teachers so much that she invited me to do an internship in the company she founded years ago. I have to decide if I want to take the last place on the competition team, or if I want to accept the internship which will probably open several doors for me in the professional world.
Choice 1 : Join the competition group
Choice 2 : Go to the internship
It’s now been about 5 mounts since I’m with Claire and I can’t take it anymore. When I first saw her at the party, I didn’t know what hid behind her happy face, but what is behind this mask is frightening. A little before we got together, Claire started struggling with a drug addiction, but she successfully hid that from me for about one month. When I discovered that she was doing drugs, she tried to convince me to try it and after a month of resistance, I fell in the rabbit hole of drugs. It’s been about a month since the problem got worse and now our families know it. As of today, Claire’s family and mine have agreed to send us to a rehab center. We got into this mess together, and we’ll get threw it together.
Choice 1 : Start again
In the last 2 mouths, I think Claire asked me to go out about 10 times. Of course, I've said no as many times as she asked, but she's starting to take it personal. I don’t know what to do because she holds grudges, and she is really emotional. I wouldn’t want to piss her off too much. What should I do?
Choice 1 : Keep saying ''no''
Choice 2 : Say ''yes''
Well, I’m pretty much done. Claire did finally take it personal, and she spread rumors about me. She said that she had been the victim of some sort of sexual harassment after the party and because I flirted with her during the party, it was easy to say that I was the predator that did this to her. Obviously, I didn’t do it because when she left the party I went to my house, but that’s what all predators say. She turned my friends against me and now I’m pretty much left by myself. I decided to take a year off at the end of the semester to re-energize and to explore Asia.
Choice 1 : Start again
I started the internship as a part-time job about a mouth and a half ago. I’ve not been working for long, but it already feels like a dead-end job. My job is to manage a division of the company. Hopefully, I’ll learn the ropes of administration so that, in the future, I can manage the whole firm. The only thing is that I feel a lack of purpose. I don’t want to go to work just to pay off my mortgage and to build my pension for my retirement. Personally, I don't want to live a stressful life where I feel powerless. That’s why after being very skeptical about my future in this company, I decided to quit at the end of summer. Also, because I was disappointed with where my studies would take me, I chose to change my program. Next winter I will be a first-year psychology student. It will be a whole new beginning.
Choice 1 : Start again
Oh! My god Toronto is a great city. I moved here in mid June and it is now April of the other year. During the summer, we started our start-up and it began to pickup in the end of August. Since then, we grew substantially. Our company is a platform where you can trade currencies from all around the world. At the beginning, we financed our business with a large bank loan because our balance sheet was not very good. When we secured the loan, investors began to knock on our door. The money we got helped us purchase all the equipment we needed to be able to hire people. Obviously we tried to keep wages as low as possible, so we hired young but talented computer engineers. My partner and I didn’t take any salary, and we still don’t have one. We also tried to build a work environment where colleagues are becoming friends. It’s a huge asset for our organization because it boosts productivity.
Choice 1 : 4 months later.
About three mounts ago we signed a contract with Robinhood. Robinhood is a very popular stock trading app for young people. In that contract was an agreement that we, CryptoTrader, would provide our platform to Robinhood. With this agreement, Robinhood can finally offer cryptocurrency trading on its app and in return we collect 50% of the trading fees. This partnership became effective last week and we are now managing all of Robinhood’s cryptocurrency trades. From the operations, after a lot of overtime, we made a gross profit of 35 million dollars in the last quarter. Obviously, we weren't expecting such rapid growth. They are our biggest customer. Recently they contacted us and offered to buy our business. We haven't negotiated the terms, but the selling price is expected to be around a hundred million dollars. I’m having a meeting with my partner. What should we do?
Choice 1 : Sell the business.
Choice 2 : Keep the company.
We are in trouble. The business I started with my friend didn’t work at all. In fact, we were in so much debt that earlier today we had a meeting with our biggest shareholder to agree to sell the remainder of our bankrupt company. At the start of this adventure, about five mouths ago, we developed a product with my friend’s patents, but the developing process cost us way too much money. When we started selling our products, our margin was very low because of all the debt we accumulated. Now that we haven't even had the chance to reach the breakeven point in our business, what I once thought was going to get me a foot in the door of the business world ended up costing me one. I'm now known as the guy who built a company that went threw a bankruptcy and was sold for it. My professional reputation is now ruined and I won’t be given this kind of opportunity in the future.
Choice 1 : Start again
We just sold our baby. This company was ours and we just sold it for about $120 million. Obviously that kind of money is life changing, but I would have preferred to keep it if I was to be honest. My partner wanted out and I couldn't say no. Now that I have all this money, I don’t know what to do with it. To be honest, CryptoTrader was the biggest project of my life and I finally felt like I had purpose. I don't feel as ambitious as I used to be and I don't know what to do with my life.
Choice 1 : 6 months later.
Keeping our baby was the best idea we’ve ever had. We now employ about two hundred people and I feel like I have purpose. It has been two years since we received this offer from Robinhood and we never have regretted not selling our business to them. Since then, we took their place as the first stock and cryptocurrency trading app in North America. We launched our own platform and people are loving it. In fact, we plan to go public next year at a valuation of around 5 billion dollars. We have around 15 million customers all around the world and our revenue grew substantially. As of today, we are doing 800 million dollars in gross profit each year.
Choice 1 : The end.
Building a great business has always been one of my goals not because I wanted to make a lot of money, but simply because I wanted to create something innovative that I would be known for. Now, every day, our company helps people build wealth for their family, their friends and themselves. That is my biggest accomplishment and what I am most proud of.
Choice 1 : Try it again
It's been 6 months and I've already wasted all the money. A month after we sold the company, I had a depression and I tried to resolve it with alcohol. It was obviously not a great idea, but at the time, I felt it was the solution. Time has gone by so quickly. I no longer have a sports car or a house in California. In fact, I’m back to my parent’s house and I have to start all over again.
Choice 1 : Start over
