What to do after high school?

While I was approaching my final days in High School, I was still not sure what I wanted to do afterwards. I was too tired studying and wanted to take a break from long hours of non-stop studying and solving mathematical problems. I was not alone, most of my friends were in the same situation. I made my parents worried because I had many options in my head but I had nothing certain what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to be rich, I wanted to be free of homework and not to be stressed with studies. I wanted to start a business.So, I watched lots of Youtubers who became famous at a very young age. But at the end I gave up because my parents insisted that good education is the only way I can have a good future. So, I have to decide soon what I want to do.

Choice 1 : I can get enrolled at a Cegep.

Choice 2 : I can take a year off and work.

I get enrolled at a Cegep.

I decided to continue my studies. I need to choose the program and a Cegep where I will study. I was thinking of few Collages. I like a lot the Bois-de-Boulogne cegep where many of my friends decided to go. But, I decided that my best choice is Montmorency College since I live in Laval. This cegep is not far from where I live, it will save me lots of time in transport. Now, I need to choose my field of study.

Choice 1 : I choose the Science Programme.

Choice 2 : I choose a Technical programme.

I can take a year off and work.

Since I was not very sure what exactly I want to study, I thought that it would be a good idea to take a year off and work until I decide what I want to do with my life. Therefore, I was looking where to apply for a job in my city. I sent my CV to the "Alfa gym" and "Bobby's Restaurant". Well, I was happy to see that both places offered me a job. Now I have to make a big decision. I have to choose where I want to work.

Choice 1 : I choose Alfa Gym.

Choice 2 : I choose Bobby's Restaurant.

I choose the Science Programme.

If I choose the Science programme, I will have many options in the future. However, I am not sure if I want to do higher and long studies right away. Two years in the Cegep and 3 to 4 years at the University were a long time to me. I prefer to get professional qualifications at the Cegep and start working as soon as possible. Then, I can do my higher education at the university part-time late on to become an engineer. I decided not to do the Science Programme.

I choose a Technical programme.

As a child, I always admired beautiful houses and huge buildings. I used to drive with my dad watching new houses being constructed. So, I decided to do the Civil Engineering Technology programme at the Montmorency Collage. Now, I am in my second year and even if the programme is hard, I hope when I finish my studies at the Cegep I will find a good job easily as there is a big demand in my field.

Choice 1 : Decision made. End of choices.

I choose Alfa Gym.

I love to workout. So, this was a good choice. They give free memberships to their employers and the place is not far from my house. I think I will have the chance to meet new people there and enjoy my work. But, things changed due to the pandemic. The gym that I supposed to work had to close down due to Covid19.

Choice 1 : I can take a year off and work.

I choose Bobby's Restaurant.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in my area. When they offered me a job as a helper in the kitchen I was very happy because I really wanted to learn few cooking tricks. But I was skeptical if this was a good choice, because I workout almost every day and watch what I eat. But, if I started working in a kitchen it would make me eat anything and everything. So, I decided that this was not a very good idea after all.
