My Way to a Career in Psychology.

The Beginning of a Journey.

It's my last year of college in Social Science. I'm very passionate about psychology and I'm willing to have a career as a clinical psychologist. I am always empathic when my friends told me their secrets or stories and wanted to help them as much as I could. This session was hard and made me so tired of studying. I don't doubt that I'm going to pass all of my classes, but I'm just exhausted of going to school and passing exams. I have a choice to make. Whether I'm going to take a semester off next year and begin my program in winter's session, or try to finish my university studies without wasting time.

Choice 1 : I can't waste time!

Choice 2 : Take some vacations because I deserve them.

Choice 3 : Working in a dead-end job.

yes

It's time to enjoy my vacations.

I'm so happy to have some rest from studying and all this stressing energy. Now, I just have to announce that to my parents. I don't want to, but I feel like they deserve to know. Should I tell them or not.

Choice 1 : Face my parents.

Choice 2 : Don't tell them and live my life like I want.

enjoy some rest

I can't waste time!

I have to see if my friends are going to take a session break or continue their studies with me. They all told me that they want to take a break and I feel frustrated about that. I don't understand why they are wasting time. They invited me for a road trip but I couldn't accept. They're trying to persuade me. I feel like they are a bad influence for me. I think I'm going to unfriend them and stay alone.

Choice 1 : Unfriending all of them and focus on myself.

Choice 2 : Keep them close to help them.

no wasting of time

Don't tell them and live my life like I want.

I am going to enjoy my vacations and try to self-actualize, improve my talents and why not find another passion behind psychology.

time to improve

Face my parents.

I was certain of it. They are dramatizing the situation so much making me look like a child that doesn't know how to make good choices for his own future. Sometimes, I hate how egocentric they can be toward me.

facing my parents

Unfriending all of them and focus on myself.

I don't want to be involved anymore in this lazy behaviour and I feel like it became a casualty. I was always trying to improve their self-esteem but I feel like they're just unconscious about their own problems.

better alone than in bad company

Keep them close to help them.

I can't withdraw from them. I heard that one of my closest friends have some personal problems and I need to be close to her. I don't want her to have mental disability from all of this. Should I take her to a real psychologist or just do a psychoanalyst of her.

Choice 1 : Do my own psychoanalysis.

Choice 2 : Take her to a psychologist.

keep them close

Do my own psychoanalysis.

I began by asking her questions to do the profiling as I learned. After a good session, I conclude that she has to take real therapy sessions with a professional. In fact, my observations make me think that she has a mental disorder known as a dissociative order.

Have my own idea

Take her to a psychologist.

Everything was doing well in the session. The professional let me be there while he was doing his evaluation and asking her questions. He was basically profiling, and she became suddenly aggressive toward the psychologist by having dry answers and speaking to him loudly. I wasn't expecting that outcome and I don't accept a such misbehavior from my friends.

Working in a dead-end job.

I want to take a break from all of this stressful sessions, but I want to do something in this time. I don't have the choice but to take a dead-end job and work partially to have some pocket money. It will also help me to pay my next semester at the university.
