Congratulations! You have finally reached your last year of high school and it is time for you to choose the next step you will make for your life. You are right now in front of your computer, browsing all the programs that are available in all CEGEP of Montreal. You have always known that you want to eventually become a lawyer because you are so good at arguing and finding all the breaks in rules. You have a strong sense of justice so, the law might be the best choice for you. Also, everybody has told you that you will become an excellent attorney. You are thinking about whether you would choose to enroll in a Paralegal Technology program or a DEC in Social Science.

You have decided to go to Paralegal Technology, where everything is more concrete. After you have visited many colleges, you have decided that you will enroll in O'Sullivan College in Montreal because it is the best suit for you. You will learn the most effective way to search in the Civil Code of Quebec and in the Criminal Code. Most of the people there may be older than you but everyone is motivated to succeed even though the program is tough, so you will find great partners for teamwork. However, everything comes with a cost. You have chosen a private school, so you have to decide whether you will take a loan from the government or a part-time job.

Your first week in the CEGEP was so interesting! You have learned tons of new information during your classes. Teachers here are passionate about what they are teaching. Coincidentally, this group will have a show this weekend in Toronto. You just got your license and both of you want to attend the concert. However, your teacher in Law class gives all of you a research project about the common law that is due in three weeks and recommends all of you to start it now because it is very long. One of the best parts of subscribing to a loan is that you only worry about the money when it is time to reimburse your creditors. However, the creditor you have chosen is very special. It is the government. This is why you will only have to worry about that amount once you have finished your studies. Also, one of the interesting parts of having a loan from the government is that the interest is much lower than usual creditors. Now that you have the money in your hand, it is important to choose the way you will spend it. You have heard that some of your friends had spent that money on a trip, and they also have invited you to be part of it. Would you like to socialize and have fun with your friends by investing that amount in an interesting trip or would you rather put it in your studies? Remember that you are still able to borrow more money as a student loan.

Get a Part-Time Job.

Having experience at any workplace will always come in handy one day even though you will not work in that field later. You have gotten a part-time job in a little shop. The wage might be not that high but it is the start. You have been asked how many hours you are available to work and 20 hours a week seemed reasonable at that time. However, when the exam weeks were about to come, you got no time for yourself. Almost at the end of the semester, you were burned out by work and were unable to attend some of your exams, neither you were able to go to work. You have failed few classes and have to take them again. One thing you have learned from that experience is to not overestimate yourself and to choose to work fewer hours.

To assist at the concert of that band was a dream that is coming to life. You are right now in the car, that you have borrowed from your parents, with your new friend. How exciting it is? You are driving and the sun is beginning to set. You would like to take a break and find the nearest hotel to stay for the night and continue tomorrow. On the other hand, your friend is telling you that the most exciting part of attending a concert is to be able to meet the artists during the meet and greet that will happen during the day. If you are staying for the night, you won't be able to meet your idol. Will you take a rest or continue?

Stay at Home to Do Your Research.

So, you are at home, as a straight-A's student, doing your homework. Your friend had suddenly called you because he needed helps. Police officers had broken into his apartment last night because they accused him of dealing with and selling drugs. They took all of his savings and value objects, but he thinks that the arrest warrants were not destined for him. He was indeed a little bit part of this business but the real dealer was his roommate. Even so, he will have to be present at the court for the allegations against him. Thanks to your passion for everything related to law, you can help him out by looking for legal aid and maybe a lawyer for him but you have also some work to do that is due tomorrow. What will you do?

You got so hooked on the research concerning the law. You were reading clauses and cases about drug dealing. You were searching for pro bono organizations that could help your friend out. However, there was not that much criminal case that is treated by pro bono organizations. The best alternative was to search for a low-cost litigator. You spent your entire night that was dedicated to your homework helping your friend and you did a great job! You were able to find all things that he might need but you have neglected your own work. It was not brilliant of you to do that move. You forgot that one the assignment was due for today so you have to handle it late and this is only if the teacher accepts belated work. Next time you will rethink about what are your priorities first.

Anyway, you have always known that this friend will end in jail with all of his implications in criminal activities. You were better doing and finishing your homework. Maybe after you have done all the things you have to do, you will think about his case. The next morning, police officers were knocking at your door house. It seemed like that friend of yours has dragged you into his troubles. Because you haven't handed him any help, he has decided to tear you down. You have to spend the rest of the week at the police station and maybe later at the courtroom to testify. That filthy and nasty move of him you will remember your whole life and you will make him pay one day.

Spend the Money in the Trip.

You and your friends that you knew for forever are on a road trip to Louisiana. Louisiana is the place of Louis Armstrong, Acadians and alligators are cohabiting. All of you are thrilled to have new adventures so, you have decided to take a wild road trip. You will spend the night right in the forest wanting to see a real reptile. You have decided that the best place to catch that animal in its wild habitat is near the lake. All of you are installing yourselves right at the shores. Since the beginning, the heat of the South was hitting on all of you. This water is the perfect place to relax. Will you dip yourself in that freshwater with everyone or stay on the ground?

Spend the Money in Your Studies.

You made a wise choice to take a student loan and to spend that money on your studies. Now you do not have to worry about time and money and can fully concentrate on becoming a successful lawyer. Being in a Paralegal Technology program has its own advantages and one of them is that you can get an internship at a law or notary firm and not end in a random dead-end job during the summer break. Doing so, you will amass a considerable sum of money that you can either save up to repay your loan or spend on your hobbies or presents. Because your school has many contacts with a lot of big or small firms and companies that need paralegal interns during the summer it was a piece of cake for you to obtain job interviews. You were fully capable of obtaining a position for this summer. Good for you, not only you can gain experience with on-the-job training, you can learn the ropes of the job but you can also add it to your resume. What a wonderful start for your career.

Take a Rest.

Against the will of your friend, you have decided to take a rest at the motel down the road. You took a cursory glance at the place and it seemed sketchy but you were too tired to pay any attention. The only this that matter was to sleep in a bed. You have decided that to save the little money that you all have to take a room for both of you. Right at the moment, you got in the room that you ran to the bed and slept. The next morning, when you woke up, you were alone in the room with nothing more than yourself. You were robbed by that supposed friend during the night. That bastard took all of your stuff, money, and also the car! You gave your trust to someone and he betrayed you.

Your head was starting to pound. Your eyes were about to shut down. Sleepiness was attacking you while you were driving. Your friend was sleeping peacefully beside you. You were envying him so much. That precious minute was fatal to both of you and your friend. Your friend is now hospitalized and you are between life and death. You have to pray for your life.

It is so refreshing to take a dip in the cold water on a hot day of summer. You and your friend were having fun running and playing around in the water. You were thinking that one day you will come back and maybe live in Louisiana. The water was perfect, the day was perfect, everything was perfect. You took your time to relax in the water until dawn. Once you got back on the shore, you and your friends were sharing a bottle of water. Swimming can be exhausting. Later in the night, all of you woke up with a big tummy ache. You called 911 and were sent to the nearest hospital. You were intoxicated by the water you drank earlier. What an idea to drink the water from the lake.

It was so hot. You have decided to stay on the shore. The lake might be dangerous. You never know what you can step on neither you know what you can find in. Staying out of the water was the safest choice. You spent the rest of the day under the sun. When your friends came back at the end of the day, they found you unconscious. You got a heatstroke. Fortunately, you were sent rapidly to a hospital. You stayed over there for the rest of the trip and were unable to enjoy any of the road trips.
