Your Future Is in Your Hands

The moment to choose a college.

You're living in a small village. Congrats, you just finished High School! You now have to decide what you want to do next. You're tempted to simply stay in you hometown and work to finally have some independence from your parents, but you also want to go to college in Montreal to have more choices. What do you want to do?

Choice 1 : You start to work at a dead-end job in your hometown.

Choice 2 : You go to college in Montreal.

A small village

You go to college in Montreal.

You are in Montreal, living by your own in an apartment. You are very excited. You always wanted to be a health professional. You want to make diagnosis, to treat patients and to give prescriptions. You want to be a doctor or a chiropractor, but you don’t know yet. Don't worry you still have time to decide. There’s one little problem. You’re a judo athlete and you have Olympic dreams. Your time management is crucial because you need to have straight A’s and to train hard every day. After a few months like this, you have a lack of energy, so you give your situation a thoughtful look. If you want to achieve one of your objective, you need to decide which one and focus on it. What’s you decision?

Choice 1 : You really want to go to the Olympics, so you focus on training.

Choice 2 : You really want to be accepted in your university program, so you focus on school.

The Olympic Stadium in Montreal

You really want to go to the Olympics, so you focus on training.

You trained really hard for four years. You are now qualified to the Olympic Games that are in two months. You are very proud of yourself, but you still have to work hard to be the champion. There’s a competition in a week. The competition is not mandatory, but it could be a good practice before the big day. What are you going to do?

Choice 1 : You go to the competition, it will prepare you better to the Olympic Games.

Choice 2 : You skip this one, you prefer to train with your usual partners.

A judo throw during a match

You really want to be accepted in your university program, so you focus on school.

You are a scholarship recipient because you have the highest grades. Congratulations! You worked so hard for it. All these exams you’ve study for are now rewarded. Someone proposes you an internship during the end of the semester. It could be a great opportunity to have a foot in the door and it could be an invaluable experience, but you also want to have time to study for your finals… What should you do?

Choice 1 : You do the internship.

Choice 2 : You refuse the offer, you’ll have more time to study.

A lot of books

You do the internship.

You are doing an internship in a chiropractic clinic. You see a lot of different patients. Some are pregnant and have back pain, some have difficulty to swallowing due to a chest disease and some are dizzy because of neck pain. You’ve learned multiple things and you now feel confident of your choice of program in university. You are happy in your decisions and you can’t wait to go to university to learn more about the vertebral column and the skeleton. You’ll help people in their lives and that’s what makes you happy.

Choice 1 : End

You skip this one, you prefer to train with your usual partners.

Even though you are not going to the competition, you continue to train hard like usual. You have done everything you had to do to win the Olympic games, and that’s what you do! You have achieved your biggest dream. Congratulations! But in Canada, winning the Olympics in judo doesn’t take you that far. The pension you receive isn’t enough to live conveniently. Since you don’t have any study, you still need to go back to school.

Choice 1 : The moment to choose a college.

The Olympic rings

You refuse the offer, you’ll have more time to study.

Aside from school work, you do nothing else. The fatigue and the stress take over. You are depressed and you need change. You take a flight to Mexico without telling anybody (you don’t have friends anyway) and you decide to start a new Zen life there.

Choice 1 : End

Cancun beach

You start to work at a dead-end job in your hometown.

You decide that you need money right now. Faster you have a job, faster you earn a wage and faster you can buy what you want without your parents' opinion. There’s a vacant position at the restaurant two streets from your house. You’re aware that it’s a dead-end job but you pull off being hired even though you only have a High School diploma. Your new coworker, who is very cute, invites you to go to the club with his friends. You are getting ready to go out when your boss calls you to ask if you can be at work in 15 minutes to do overtime. What’s your answer?

Choice 1 : You say that you’ll be there in 10 minutes.

Choice 2 : You say that you can’t tonight, but you are really sorry.

A restaurant

You say that you’ll be there in 10 minutes.

When you arrive at the restaurant, there's only a few clients left. You wonder why your boss needs you at this time. Maybe there was something wrong with your background check? In the meantime, you want to come in handy, so you start to wash the dishes. Your boss comes in and explains you he wants you to learn to ropes (which is weird because your coworkers already did it earlier and you were doing pretty good). He then touches your hand and tells you that he finds you very attractive. You are very surprised and you don’t know how to react. He takes this opportunity to come closer and tries to kiss you. You quickly push him away from you. He then tells you not to tell anybody or you’ll be fired. What should you do?

Choice 1 : You gently tell him not to worry and that everything is fine.

Choice 2 : You run at home to tell everything to your mom.

Someone doing the dishes

You gently tell him not to worry and that everything is fine.

He thinks your calm and your kindness are flirtation tactics, so he tries to kiss you again. You let him do it, because you’re too shy and you don’t want to lose you job. Since then, he always manipulates you not to report his sexual misconducts. You are not comfortable at work. More often than not, you just don’t go at all. You don’t have more money than before, so you still live with your parents. You have been traumatized by this work experience. You don’t want to do anything and you don’t have a purpose anymore. Your parents obligate you to go back to school.

Choice 1 : The moment to choose a college.

An isolated house

You run at home to tell everything to your mom.

You’re overwhelmed by this situation. You run straight to your parents’ house to tell them everything. You then decide to report what happened to the police. Unfortunately, because there’s no proof and that you were a new employee, the police couldn’t do anything. They said it wasn’t clear that it was sexual harassment. Your boss fired you and because you don’t have better than a High School diploma, you can’t find a new job. You have to go back to school.

Choice 1 : The moment to choose a college.

Police car

You say that you can’t tonight, but you are really sorry.

Your coworker picks you up like he said. He drives you to the club where you meet everybody. You’re having a great night with him and his friends when a stranger asks you if he can buy you a drink. He looks classy and very mysterious. You’re intrigued by him. What’s the thing you want to do?

Choice 1 : You thank him, but you declined his offer to stay with your coworker and his friends.

Choice 2 : You gladly accept his proposition.

People in a club

You thank him, but you declined his offer to stay with your coworker and his friends.

You go back to your new friends to spend the rest of the night with them. The bar is now closed and you are very drunk. You end up at your coworker’s place and you spend the night with him. A month later, you realize that you are pregnant. You haven’t seen your coworker since that night. He doesn’t even work at the restaurant anymore. You have to raise your child by your own with the help of your parents. You eventually have to go back to school so you can get a job that can support your new needs.

Choice 1 : The moment to choose a college.

A baby

You gladly accept his proposition.

You learn to know him during the night and you really like him. He seems to like you too. You had a wonderful night with him. You continue to see each other almost every day after that night. You soon learn that he’s a millionaire. He doesn’t care that you aren’t as rich as him, and he proposes to you. It’s like in the movies! You are so glad to have him in your life. You have money like you wanted and you don’t even have to work for it. The problem is that you soon get bored with travelling around the world in your private jet. You want to have a purpose again and you think you’ll be happier if you work. So, you have to go back to school.

Choice 1 : The moment to choose a college.

A proposal

You go to the competition, it will prepare you better to the Olympic Games.

The competition is in Germany. Your day goes well. You won all of your fights. You’re going in final. You’re happy to be there and it makes you confident for the Olympic Games. The time of your final match is coming. You go on the mats like usual, but during the fight, you seriously hurt your ankle. You win the fight anyway, but you can’t walk now. You take an appointment with a doctor. In the waiting room, they put you in a wheelchair to take you to the examination table. After looking at your medical file and doing some ultrasound, the doctor announces you that you have a fracture. You can’t go to the Olympic Games anymore. You’re devastated. Your career is over and you haven’t finished your studies.
