I am studying in the Youth and Adults Correctional Services program at the moment. I am taking my courses at Ahuntsic College. I am currently in my second year of cegep. I still have two semesters left to complete. I have many choices for where I want to go in University. On the other hand, I'm really confused and don't know which one I want to choose.
Choice 1 : Go to the University of Montreal
Choice 2 : Go to the University of Ottawa
I chose to come here. I want to study criminology. The acceptance rate is not so high for the program in question. They ask for their student to have a pretty good R Score. I am closed to my friends and family. I already live here with my mom. I already got a job in a small cafe. I chose stability and this is kind of the best choice because it could help me study better considering the circumstances and environment. After this diploma, I wonder if I want to continue studying or find a job in my field.
Choice 1 : I continue with an additional diploma.
Choice 2 : I go find myself a job in my studying field.
I chose to live in Ottawa by myself, far from everything that I know. It might be difficult, because I have to pay my own rent and find a new job. Despite that aspect of my chosen lifestyle, this University accepting rate is higher than in Montreal. In this case, I can study in law, so I'm really happy. Nevertheless, the journey is not over yet! I don't know where I want to apply my skills : Montreal or Ottawa?
Choice 1 : I go work in a law firm in Ottawa.
Choice 2 : I go work in a law firm in Montreal.
I chose this because I felt like I needed more expertise! I can study Sociology, Psychology and many more. There are multiple university majors that I could add to my education. I am still living in Montreal with my mom. I have my side student job to make some sort of money. To wrap up, I chose to have less money but more education in the meanwhile.
Choice 1 : The End!
I have many choices of where I want to work. I could go to the Youth Center, in a prison, in a transitional home, etc... It all depends on the kind of clientele (youth or adults) I want to work with. They approximately ask for the same level of formation. I like where I am diploma-wise. I can finally work in my field and gain experience over the years. If I start my career young, I'll end up having a bigger salary and many opportunities over the years. This choice means I like long term stability.
Choice 1 : The End!
I stay in Ottawa for the moment to work in a law firm. I get to take cases to solve, so I can start off my dream career. It is also a good idea to find myself a mentor. I can gain some experience and discover a life over here. I could make myself a new circle of friends and meet some new people. I also get to live by myself. I also get to practice my English communication skills which will help me through my career as well.
Choice 1 : The End!
I come back to Montreal, so I live with my mom and in that way I can save money a little bit. With that saved money, I'll get to open my own law firm in a few long years. Meanwhile, I find a job in a law firm and I gain experience over the time. I get back to my friends, family and to everything I am familiar with.
Choice 1 : The End!
Whatever you chose for my life, I'm happy with. As long as I get to live joyful experiences through my journey, I'm satisfied.
Choice 1 : This is the beginning.
