How it all started.

It's finally my last year of high school, the year before I become an adult and have to make some choices. I don't know which cegep I am going to, but I have some ideas.

Choice 1 : Go to Montmorency College.

Choice 2 : Go to Dawson College.

Go to Montmorency College.

I decided to go to Montmorency College for the modern structure and the variety of the programs though I didn't know any of my friends that was going to this school, it was going to be a challenge. I was hoping to pull of straight A's in Health Science but it didn't work out as planned. I ended up failing 3 classes.

Choice 1 : Change program to Social Science.

Choice 2 : Stay in Health Science.

Go to Dawson College.

I have decided to go to Dawson College, a school where I have a lot of friends already and where I will be able to develop my English. I have chosen the Health Science program and I already had a lot of regrets. Time management was very important because it was very easy to stop doing school work because I wanted to have fun with my friends instead. More often than not, I was tired of going to school because my program didn't satisfy me.

Choice 1 : Quit school.

Choice 2 : Join my friend in his Radiation Oncology program.

Change program to Social Science.

I decided to switch program from Health Science to Social Science. It was an excellent choice, the teachers were amazing and I found out I have a big interest in business. It was now time to choose a university.

Choice 1 : Go to HEC Montreal.

Choice 2 : Go to John Molson School of Business.

Stay in Health Science.

Staying in Health Science wasn't my smartest choice, the teachers didn't pay enough attention to me and my interest in the program was nonexistent. I had very bad grades, and I was about to be kicked out of the college. Finally that's what happened...

Choice 1 : Try again!

Quit school.

I didn't want to try another program, school was very stressful and wasn't made for me. There was a vacant position at a McDonald's close to my house, I decided to apply and I got accepted. I will be paid at the minimum wage which wasn't really exciting but I didn't have the choice. I quit after 2 months because it was a dead-end job.

Choice 1 : Try again!

Join my friend in his Radiation Oncology program.

I decided to follow my friend and do the radiation oncology program, this program was very interesting and I really liked it, but I didn't see myself doing this as a career.

Go to HEC Montreal.

I choose HEC Montreal because the system is kind of similar to high school and you stay with the same group for 1-2 years. You also have the choice to go abroad and study. This school really helps you learn the ropes for the job that you will apply. When you finish you bachelor or master, you can be assured that your income is going to be high. For my part, I finished my master and I'm not sure what I will be doing next...

Going to this school was a great choice! Speaking in English has never been that easy, I also got to make new connections and learn new business terms. I can't wait to start working!

I have finally decided to apply at a financial institution which is BMO. I think it will be a great place to become a financial advisor because the people that I will be working with seem very nice. But there is a better way!

After graduating, I decided to do an internship at a financial institution and work my way up becoming a financial advisor. I think that being an intern can help me lean the ropes of the job and get to know everybody and make some connections. Maybe, it would help me join a big financial company like Berkshire Hathaway.
