Beginning of a new chapter.

I finished college and now I have to find what I want to do with my life.

Choice 1 : Take a year off.

Choice 2 : Go to the University of Montreal.

Choice 3 : Change career and work in a office.

Since college, I been working so hard to keep up with my grades. I feel like University is not for me right now. I need to experience more options and work on myself.

Choice 1 : Travel the world and help people.

Choice 2 : Stay in Canada and go on an internship.

Go to the University of Montreal.

It was the second week of my semester and my teachers had already begun piling on the homework. After dinner, I gave my French homework a cursory glance and made a snap decision about my time management. I decided to start doing my homework thorough and put aside all distractions. I would do my homework thoughtfully and not hasty. When I get home, even if I have no homework, I should still review my lessons. Even though sometimes homework’s are maddening and I procrastinate, I should still be able to pull off straight A's. With all these good attitude I could do well at school and I could succeed.

Travel the world and help people.

I feel like I was skeptical about volunteering abroad because it’s a dead-end job. I felt like I would work a lot and I would be too tired. I was also skeptical about the premium-wage. But besides all these disadvantages, I think that volunteering has also a lot of advantages. When I went to Africa, I learned from the people of the country I went. I gained a lot of experiences. I think, all the volunteers that went and came back are now realizing a new side of them they didn't know. I have achieved things that I probably would never have experienced if I was staying in the comfort of my home. I feel like I found myself.

Choice 1 : Stay in Africa for good.

Choice 2 : Go to the University of Montreal.

Stay in Canada and go on an internship.

Internship made me learn on how is it in a professional environment. In the beginning you might overwhelm from all the new stuff they teach you, but it’s an amazing work experience. When you’re on-the-job-training they usually don’t want you to hate the job you train, so sometimes they can go easier for you, so you could enjoy your experience. As soon as an Intern put a foot in the door, all the people were really sweet and ready to give new trick about the job. They came in handy for any problems or discomfort that I had. You will be learning the ropes of your future job, when you learn the ropes it’s a lot easier. Also, when I was in an internship, they were also other interns. With the others we was sharing the new ropes we learned. It was a great experience. I think I found my path.

Stay in Africa for good.

Yesterday, I was embracing my journey in Africa, but when the people in my village started to tell me that a new rare disease started killing a lot of people in the village. I got scared. A couple days later I was diagnosed with the disease, and they told me I had 3 days left to live.

Since I did a great job with my time management, I was able to pull off straight A's. I graduate and I had my bachelor degree.

I am always procrastinating and now I have a final exam to submit, but it's my best friends birthday, and she decided to go to the club.

Change career and work in an office.

Office politics may concern a part of networking and strengthening stakeholder relationships. These activities were made to improve your status. Sometimes, it can have a negative impact in the workplace. I personally was involved in a toxic workplace environment because of that. People more often than not, withhold information’s just, so they can undermine your work. Withholding and undermining are common in a toxic environment. Having skills in politics helped me to not get sucked up in a situation where people tried to get advantage of me. Some people may be hindered by this type of environment. It’s not for everybody. Fortunately for me, I was not hindered by it. But after a while the office starts to become extremely toxic. I thought I was bulletproofed but not at all. My coworker tried to take advantage of me physically. I thought we were truly friends but clearly he is not and maybe It's no longer a good work for me.

Sexual harassment is an important subject. If, you don't feel comfortable you should immediately report and that's what I did. He finally left and now I feel relieved, but I don't know what to do next.

I went to a job training in a kindergarten to learn the ins-and-outs of it. I was a trainee to be in an early childhood educator. We were 6 trainees. A lot of people had biases about this job, but it’s truly an amazing job. People said to me those children were annoying, and they were a headache, but my experience was amazing. Speaking personally, I enjoyed getting to learn the environment and meeting the children. They were little angels! They were really sweet and for the most part they listened. They were not a lot of drawbacks. The only drawback would be that sometimes when they get angry after the park, they had fits in the middle of the street. Apart from this inconvenience, this week of OJT pushed me to go towards this profession. I wanted to work with children in kindergarten but now I want to go in primary level. The reason for that is that the wage is higher. Even if we don't choose the profession for the money in this case it doesn't change anything since I would still be working with kids. This training helped me a lot to see if it's the right career for me. Anyone who is unsure about their career choice should go OJT.
